Appears to be a decent enough idea but I can lay a spod down relatively softly, often a full skyliner throws a few out and the gulls are on that in a flash, really trying to avoid scattering bait on the surface.

It's a 50/50 hitting the clip harder at longer range might have issues but needing to hit it harder at closer range to get the spread might be just as bad.

I usually have separate spod and marker but will also use the marker rod as a secondary spod rod for when ive got spots at different ranges(to save keep unclipping and wrapping up)
I just use the loop method on the end of braid leader and very easily swap from lead to whatever spomb etc.

I know.but it's a long narrow gravel pit, just shy of 1000yds but only 120-ish at its widest.
Clubman/match rules- halfway between l/h-r/h and swim opposite.

yeah it's wierd no markers, very little spod/spom use. stingy bait application.
Strange tactics, I've done the opposite.
Been on this lake for three months so unless I'm fishing a swim I've already learned enough about to free hand a cast I have a lead around,
I find the lumps and bumps. silty and firmer spots, different types of weed and depths.
Some are there one week..gone the next.
And I'll fish and bait one tight to the marker, the other across a spread of bait.
BTW the marker /seagull attractor was painted black and is now generally ignored by the feathered rats.
Noticed soon on that most of the guys here just rock up in their fave swims, get their distance sticks out, fish two 8-10 wraps out & one in the margin.
Or if part of the wandering van clan..two in the margin for an hour and a 30-40yd lob with a bag..
In 25+ visits 2-3pm to an hour after sunset I've only seen two carp anglers catch a carp🤔

Gardner boilie rocket....Haven't seen one of those in years,
I had one way back and it really wasn't suited to 'normal' rods. NG spod shouldn't be troubled.
A quick coat of Lidl's finests matt black should complete the stealth setup
might be one of those items that doesn't move quickly...I'll check out my local shop

TFG Airbomb is good for this, I’ve used the mini one a bit, with a bit of practice you can get a decent spread of Bait.
probably not, I use the same rod for spod and marker and the clip/ring might be a pita.

yes the mini airbomb is brilliant once you have got the hang of it, its all i ever use for boilies upto around 100yds i think it gives a far better spread of bait than a traditional style spomb etc.
And the gulls struggle to react quickly enough to get any bait

If using on your spod rod with braid you can 'whip em' like a side strike once feathered down to create a little deposit line etc . . .

They won't get them all if your doing pouch fulls.
I normally fire some into someone else's swim then rapid fire over my spots, when they head back put another pouch in the opposite direction
Works a treat 👍
Pouch fulls gets more gulls or alternatively..more bream.

it's a club water catapulting 50-100 boilies has the bream and tench anglers spitting feathers..even though they use buckets of groundbait, pints of maggot
was working in tandem with an angler on the opposite bank the other week, it worked to a point, then we both had 20 gulls.
Not as stupid as you might think, they only take dummy loads and long range singles/pairs once.

yes, stringers are in use already,
Need just enough bait loosely spread out to pause the carp and push the bream out not enough to give the bream reason to stay in one spot
Have to top-up regularly, if the bream are on it, trickling in 2-3kg over 6-7 hours might be enough to slow the carp.
Often as not the bream are on the hook baits within minutes.
single bleeps and liners all day - if it goes quiet either down smallest skimmers chasing the hookbait around or the carp have arrived.
And you know when they are on your baits, not shy about showing.
Then you can bait over them, drop rigs and 6-8 bait stringers on their heads.
Get the bait down in front of the fish..run time.👍

Have you thought about using a stringer, with some strong tape for withstanding the cast.

Is there a decent boilie spod that doesn't jam up when half full of 16 or 18mm baits?
Starting have difficulty getting freebies into the water, only fishing 35-40yds out but one twang of a catapult, plop, plop of a few boilies and the damned seagulls are on it.
Two quickly turns to twenty and they sit over your spots all day.
Can't even stand up without them lifting and waiting for free food to hit the water.
Hard enough trying to get just enough of a spread down to interest the carp without feeding the bream too much.
The old skyliner doesn't empty first cast and whilst there is actually an advantage to a slow trickle down and some drift. not gusting 25-30mph like yesterday and dragging the braid/spod off.
Packing it out with pellets is a big breamy no-no.
Maize/maples/chickpeas seem to be the kiss of death on short sessions..
Empties better with tigernuts but nothing has come of fishing them on one rod or a tiger boile combo.
