I gave your question to AI
AI does make mistakes but this is what it said

That is incredibly frustrating, and honestly, a massive financial blow. Dumping standard trash is one thing, but asbestos fly-tipping is a hazardous, highly illegal environmental crime. You are completely in the right to want to catch these people and pass their registration numbers on to the authorities.
Because you have **no mains power** and **no WiFi**, you need a setup that relies entirely on **cellular data (4G/5G)** and **battery/solar power**.
Two types of specific setups are highly recommended for capturing number plates in remote locations.
## Option 1: Cellular Trail Cameras (Best for Stealth & Quick Setup)
These are built specifically for remote areas. They use a built-in multi-network SIM card to transmit images directly to an app on your phone via the 4G network. They sit on "standby" using almost no battery until motion triggers them.
### 1. Spypoint Flex-S or Flex-Dark
Spypoint is highly rated for security and fly-tipping enforcement in the UK.
* **Power:** The **Flex-S** model features an integrated solar panel and an internal rechargeable lithium battery pack, backed up by AA batteries. It charges even in low-light, rainy UK weather.
* **Network:** It uses a dual-SIM configuration that automatically connects to the strongest network available (EE, Vodafone, O2, etc.).
* **The Stealth Factor:** Look specifically for the **"Dark" or "No-Glow" (940nm)** models. Traditional "Low-Glow" cameras emit a faint red light at night when triggered. "No-Glow" is completely invisible to the human eye, meaning a fly-tipper pulling up in the dark won't notice the camera flash.
### 2. Browning Defender Pro Scout Max Solar
Browning cameras are legendary for having some of the fastest trigger speeds on the market (0.3 seconds for video, 0.2 seconds for photos).
* If a vehicle drives through the gate entrance quickly, slow cameras will only capture the empty space behind it. This camera catches them mid-motion.
* Comes with an external solar panel and transmits high-quality photos on-demand directly to your phone.
## Option 2: 4G Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) Security Cameras (Best for Flexibility)
If you want a traditional security camera experience where you can log in at any moment to view a live feed of the field entrance, a 4G PTZ camera is the way to go.
### Reolink Go PT Ultra (with Solar Panel)
Instead of strapping it to a tree like a trail camera, this can be mounted up high on a post.
* **Power:** Comes with a dedicated solar panel.
* **Specs:** 4K resolution (critical for reading small letters on a registration plate from a distance) and 4G LTE connectivity.
* **Night Vision:** It features hidden infrared LEDs for completely stealthy black-and-white night vision, or you can set it to activate small spotlights if you purposefully want to startle them.
## 3 Critical Tips for Catching License Plates
Capturing a vehicle's registration number at night with an infrared camera is surprisingly difficult due to **license plate reflection** (the retroreflective coating on plates bounces infrared light back at the camera, completely blurring out the letters in a white glare).
To avoid this, follow these rules:
1. **Angle is Everything:** Do not mount the camera facing dead-on to the vehicle headlights or taillights. Angle the camera at roughly 30^\circ to 45^\circ relative to the track, pointing slightly downward. This minimizes the direct glare reflecting back into the lens.
2. **Double Up (The "Decoy" Trick):** Put a cheap, visible, broken camera or a sign ("CCTV in Operation") somewhere obvious. Criminals will spot it and tilt their heads or position their vehicle away from it—right into the path of your hidden, No-Glow trail camera mounted deeper in the hedges.
3. **Hide it High or Low:** Do not put the camera at eye level. Hide it either very low in a bramble bush looking up at the front bumper, or 10\text{--}12\text{ ft} up a tree looking down. If you put it at eye level, they might spot it and steal the camera itself.
> **A Note on Handling it Legally:** While the temptation to dump the asbestos right back on their driveway is completely understandable, local councils and the Environment Agency take asbestos fly-tipping incredibly seriously because of the high cleanup costs. If you get a crystal-clear shot of their face and vehicle registration number, passing it to the police or your local council's Environmental Health team usually results in asset forfeiture (they seize the tipper's vehicle) and massive criminal prosecution.

My in-laws have a farm and are constantly getting items dumped in a couple of the field entrance's.

Before it was the odd tyre/furniture which was a pain but could get rid of easy enough.

Now it’s asbestos being dumped with the fees coming short of 5k to clear.

Is there any cameras/trail cameras people can recommend, there is no mains power but could power through a panel/battery and no WiFi.
I just want to catch the people/reg on camera so we can deal with it and kindly give them back there waste.

Many thanks
