if the grit can get in then it will still have the same grinding effect with oil or grease.

it's not advised due to the grit we tend to encounter a lot on the bank, which can cause premature wear

I like a bit of light multi purpose grease in the line roller bearing.
It won't be so free spinning if you give it a flick, but turns under tension with no issues.
A light oil can easily dry out as reels are sat in the summer sun.

Cheers mate. Wasnt serviced long ago so hoping theres no need for parts.
Ive just found a schematic online. Theres 9 parts to the roller, including the screw. Wasnt expecting yhat. Ill get some oil and try that first. Cheers

line roller has no springs, the bail arm itself does, but you should only be taking the screw out of the line roller. try a thin oil like singers sewing machine oil. parts are easy to order via daiwa directly and usually half the price listed online

One of my basias slds feels ever so slightly rough under load. Because its only under load, im assuming its the line roller. I reckon there might be a bit of dust got under it.
Anyone ever taken the bail arm apart and know if theres anything sprung loaded in there? I dont want to take it apart and have something unexpected fly out to never be found again, alternatively, is there a particular oil i can apply that might solve the problem
