As Andyman has said they are nowhere near the same thing and when you add up all the extras there is no real difference in cost. (I also own an Ecowrthy 150ah lithium and 50ah I use for boat work and Boat Sonar)

The anker 555 on sale cost me £399 with 5 year warranty with 10 year lifespan. The newer C1000 solix now are going for similar money on sale. It comes complete as mentioned with inverter built in for DC - AC, comes with fast charger, has multiple 12v, usb a and C (up to 140w which is excellent for laptops etc) and AC inputs. Built in lights, battery meters encased in rugged design with handle etc etc easy for transport. It is also relatively compact. Also added note, charging it is as simple as plugging in with PD charger till full, no croc leads and choosing charge types, cells etc.

The Ecoworthy currently for 100ah is £200. Now you need to buy a inverter if you want to convert DC - AC which is £70 plus for their cheapest option on their website. You also need to purchase an charge controller with addtional makeshift wires if you want to use a solar panel to top up (The cheapest viable Victron with cables will set you back £50 minimum). A half decent charger that wont blow up your house is £45 minimum and thats a slow charger. A battery box with few inputs are £80. So there is very little in it IMO, if anything the Ecoworthy route becomes more expensive if you want similar functionality. Ecoworthy batteries take forever to charge through a cheap charge controller so not ideal for solar panels unless you want to spend quite a bit more. To get the same functionality as a powerbank you will have a battery with multiple leads everywhere lol

The power stations also include inverters, charge controllers etc. Which are handy if you want or need them. Added bonus of the charge controller is the speed of mains or solar recharge times. The cost of an 100ah charger for the batteries will be quite some money if you wanted to recharge in an hour for example.

That said, if you're only needing 12v and either solar trickle charge or won't need to recharge then just a lifepo4 battery will do for sure.

Are you charging the battery in between John or is that off one charge, if its a one off charge that is cracking for the money. Better than most power bank systems

Good performance that. Mine uses nearly 50W. Battery life seems to be based on external temperatures, hotter the environment the more it kicks in. I'm running an Ecoflow river pro, around 750w, not as powerful as yours but just upgrading to a Delta 2 max which i am hoping will be closer to a week, time will tell.

We went end of September. Days were between 22-27 and nights were 10 - 14 degrees. It was warm but not silly hot. I always moved it around to be in the bivvy shade as much possible

Nice one mate, assumed it was 500.

Out of interest what was the air temperature roughly while you were there, 20 degree? higher temperatures more it will kick in.

It's a 1024wh battery pack. The fridge is very good at trickling on/off to keep the required temp. I am very happy with it. Pointless for a weekender but great for long trips or camping.

I use my icey-tek 35l for 2 - 3 day sessions and it works a treat. The downside is you lose space on ice etc so only so much it can take (well enough for 3 days).

Last year we went France and I bought an Totalcool Extreme 50l as on public open waters there are no quick access to shops etc and it was a game changer. It has 2 x compartments which one can be used as a fridge and one a freezer (not used it as freezer as I can only imagine it will tank the battery pack). I had both compartments set at 2 degrees and worked flawlessly. My Anker 555 powerhouse lasted over 3 days on a charge and afterwards had it topped up with a solar panel. IMO well worth the money for longer trips.

The ridgemonkey however is pointless. Its so small you can barely get enough in for 24hrs you might as well just use an icey tek which will last forever

Electric cool boxes are a game changer for me, super cold beer on an evening!

Just retired my Yeti 35 litre to the garage which was good for 2-3 days pending external temperatures. If you are somewhere with a decent freezer and can do ice block changes, no bother.

Flip side is you need some power to run the electric ones. i looked at these for quite a few months before splashing out following some advice off a mate. I got a Mobicool for my van which has basically a Dometic compressor minus the badge tax.

Most are using around 40 - 50W so if you have a 1000w pack that's 20 hours if its on all the time, the insulation is the key so they just kick in now and again. I have also put some foam liner around mine

For carp anglers doing a week in the sun you would need a decent power pack and solar panel back up to keep it running

Just line any old plastic box with 50mm (or thicker) Kingspan and you'll be in Icey Tek territory and beyond. Use a mix of large and small freezer blocks of your choice (gel/water/ other) (surface area ratio). Best sealing the inner though some way.

Aquarium boxes are great but poly alone as said is fragile. I bought, and still have, some large fish market type poly boxes for French trips. After 3 days of French summer the contents were still frozen using 2ltr pop bottles as ice blocks. I decided in my infinite wisdom to wrap them in duct tape for strength...wasn't the best idea I've had!

I agree and looking at the measurements these won’t even fit between my dishwasher and tumble dryer in my xxxl bivvy extension and seems a pain in the arse to reconfigure the en suite just for the sake of more stuff to lug around

I agree, the big polystyrene bxes if you can get them are excellent.

I used to use them, I used get them when they had deliveries of medicinal products for vacinations etc when they delivered to the Medical centre where I worked.

They are a bit fragile though and easily chip, but wrapped in tape and a wooden box built around them, they would last

My mate with connections to fish markets uses the thick polystyrene boxes they use.
Ok they are white which will upset the camo brigade but with care they are reasonably robust and best of all they are free.
We took one to France in the heat and it lasted many days. I can't say for certain how long as the contents got used before it lost it's effectiveness
