Hi jumping on this after recently selling my delkim txi-d v1’s. I’m after a set of RX’s, does anyone know the best deal around for purchasing new 🤔. Cheers!

Weirdly, I left it on the night mode setting (switch pointing all the way down). It then started working, as in, when the roller wheel moved it signalled, but no night light was showing.

Probably problem with the on/off toggle switch it’s a known problem with it packing up Dale at Dalectronics fixes loads of them

I have the RX+ for a few years. Great alarms, although, one of them has randomly decided not to turn on, even after a new set of batteries. The other two are fine. I used them only a few days prior, no issues. Now one of them seems completely dead. Weird!

I was using tension arms with near 3oz loading, still didn't pick uk the movement, not good.

I've always found delks work better with a bit more weight on the bobbin, i missed a couple of slow takes when I first got them using the 6g slapheads. Had no issues since switching to nightlites with plenty of weight on them.

In theory it should make them more sensitive but in reality on slow takes it doesn't as many have reported they have seen bobbins drop back down slowly without a single beep. Yet that movement on a roller will and does beep.
It wasn't set up, sensitivity or rig because if the bobbin is lifting or dropping it isn't the rig and then to put it simply the alarm should beep but they can fail on a slow lift or drop and do fail.
I bought the mark 1's when they were first released to replace my delkim conversions thinking they would be an improvement i soon found flaws in them.
I haven't tried on the newer designs but on the mk1's and txi's there hasn't been a set that i haven't been able to pull line through and lift a bobbin without it registering on the delkim but it always registers on a roller alarm

I’ve fished with delkims since the 90s
Delks don’t inherently “miss” slow takes—what you’re seeing is usually setup, sensitivity, or line/rig behaviour rather than the alarm being unable to register bites.
Being vibro rather than roller means they detect movement in the line via tension changes on the rod tip rather than line being pulled through a wheel. In theory, that actually makes them more sensitive to slow, steady movement—if they’re set up right.

Vibro should be more sensitive and the amount of false beeps people have with delks would generally concur with this but the amount of slow takes forward and back that delkims dont register on that i have seen countless times would disagree
I gave up on the vibro delks over 25 years ago because of the delkim issue with slow takes and switched to the fox rx which i still use to this day.
The only times i think the vibro delks (i refer to them as vibro as i used to use the delkim optonic conversions) are better than my rx's are when fishing with an open bail arm when pike fishing
The other occasion was in some freak weather in france when heavy rain changed to a heavy frost the roller wheels on the delkim conversions froze but there wasn't an issue with the mk1 vibro delks

Vibro is always going to be more sensitive than roller and may equate to more fish on the bank.
Though the trade off - is more false bleeps which many anglers struggle to find a happy medium - you have to pay a lot more attention to set up than rollers so for the average angler who just wants to get fishing without the hassle they make sense.
Canals are typically a moving water so yes more challenging.

With a decent counterweight to suit the conditions its ok, but too many of the Gen K use hangers with the mass of a mouse fart.

There’s even less feedback because of the pressure pinning the line down.

On a canal where I fish, there is heavy boat traffic and a lot of weed that accumulates in the lines. I read that Delkims are less suitable for this because the vibration system is sensitive to it and causes many more false bites than for example RX+ is, ,o idea if this is correct?
The Nash R4 is apparently supposed to be the best for this (Wave Sensing),
I am satisfied with the Mini micron X, but the upgrade virus has strike again  need an extra bite alarm for the 4th line, (my son is now also fishing) so either buy an extra mini micron X or upgrade the complete set...

Yes they still suffer from moisture ingress as rely on rubber gaskets which shrink over time letting in moisture usually after the warranty has ended and the common failure is the on / off switch.
Because of the difficulty taking them apart a common repair done by daletronics

I must’ve been lucky then. I had 7 heads and 2 receivers (3 rod and 4 rod sets) for years and never had a single problem with them. I know they’re plastic welded shut like the mini micron x’s, but if they don’t go wrong, it’s not an issue I guess. I used to religiously change the batteries in them every spring, just for the sake of it and never was forced to replace batteries, I just did it for peace of mind. I couldn’t even tell you what the low battery warning was like, as I never saw/heard it?

I was on the og Fox RX Digitals for over 20yrs (and they remain an excellent product tbf) and swopped them out for v1 TXIDs . . .never had a problem with them . . so much so that I own 2x sets and a pair of v1 EVDs for barbel bashing. Don't know why there's so much hate for the new Delks . . .the only thing that would make me 'possibly' revert back to Fox would be
1 - Make them look less like kids Tonka toys (the design is appalling and the heads are bulbous) The plug-in bobbins also looked like they've been stolen from Toys R Us
2 - Bring back an improved, adjustable Roller & Vibration sensing tech (like the og RX Digis / Wolf alarms) so you have ultimate situation control
3 - Integrate more functionality via an app or similar (smart remote) so that ALL controls can be adjusted / pimped / fiddled with from the comfort of ones bivvy
Until then its Delks all the way - more carpy 'innit . .

I was going to buy a 3+1 Delkim Txi-d V2 set tomorrow (Mini micron x set now), but it seems like I'd better not do that.

I was a long term Delkim user . I had txi-d alarms for over ten years , and the more recent alarms for a year or two .
I loved Delkim and didn’t think I would use anything else . I had a few issues and finally decided enough was enough . I bought for rx plus , to be honest , my plan was to try them and if I didn’t like them sell them and go back to Delkims. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing a trick after hearing all the good feedback about them .
I will never use Delkim’s again . The fox alarms are far superior in every way

The newer mx alarms defiantly ain’t bomb proof seen a few problems with them battery drain problems . I had problems with them myself alarm was draining the battery when switch off and when the mx alarms do go wrong their scrap as their plastic welded together at least with the RX+ their fixable as they can be taken apart

I bought some Sonik ones after some feedback on here, superb for the money 
What I dont get with a lot of the alarms, the body work just feels cheap and nasty ffs
There was one problem and one problem only with Fox alarms for me, and that was the battery connection wires used to go brittle and break, but I think they have done away with these now.

I had fox RX+ sold them and bought 2 sets of Sonik Alarms, which have been faultless and have more features.
I wouldn’t pay the ridiculous prices for Delkim or Fox

No issues and very decent on batteries.

It would react very differently underwater due to the water creating resistance to movement.

Here’s an interesting test.
Set your Delkim’s up on some grass.
Put a lead on one of your rods with a rig as well.
Place the lead 40 yards away (or any distance you like).
Walk the rod back to the rests with the bail arm open.
Put the rod on the rests and set it up like in a fishing situation.
Turn on the alarm.
Now go to the lead.
Now pick up the rig by the hook and move the lead left or right.

I own both the TXI-d V1 and V2 alarms and can honestly say having had a play with the Nash R3+ alarms I really liked them and amazed not more people talk about them. Small, easy to use and very reliable bite time indication.

I have a set of the mx's too, but the only thing that bugs me with them is the battery drain. I have to renew the batteries quite often in a year. And I use them only for day sessions of about 6 hours.

i dont like the new Delkim alarms there too small and annoying , and as mentioned the drop back is a must for me when fishing and its not that good, and hate the look of them , iv been using the Fox rx plus alarms and there good at what they do , great drop back , easy to set them up with the 3 rotary wheels , great nite lites , nice and bright at night , good tones , donwhat they say on the tin
but the build quality is not very good iv had a few rotary wheels fall off and battery bay wires deteriorate, they also feel cheap
fox also have crap after sales and do not repair there alarms , you have to go to another company
if Delkim sorted out there drop back , and went back to there original design on the txi model before the txi plus then they would probably be the best alarm to have but at the moment the fox rx plus is king

I’d have the MX’s over the RX+’s. MX are bombproof and I’ve never heard of anyone ever having problems with them, but have heard of issues with RX+, but nowhere near as many issues as Delkims!

And here's me who wouldn't go back to RX+ 
They're a roller alarm and as such represent poor value for money in the present market v other roller alarms..imo...and the warranty is crap, not even in house anymore.
Fox once made good alarms, up to the original Rx then they lost the plot....and vibro.

I switched from delk d’s to rx+ last year and would never go back to delks. Love how simple the rx are to use and do more than you will ever need an alarms to do. My delks used to go off all the time in heavy rain no matter how i had them set up, drove me nuts.

Same scenario for me, lost fish in France as I was fishing to the opposite bank. Delkim told me the sensors lose sensitivity over time and they probably needed replacing. The alarms were about 18 months old and probably used less than 20 times.
A few folk on here have had the same issue.

Funny you just said that, this is the exact issue I had yesterday that put the nail in the coffin. Lost two fish in snags after the alarms didn’t register two slow drop backs.
That’s on top of having two fail that needed repairing on a trip to France, plus a load of other annoying gripes over the years. Really had enough of them now.

Anybody use the Fox RX+ bite alarms and have any feedback on them?
After being a Delkim owner for 5 years, I’m thinking of getting rid of them. I’ve had too many issues with them failing on me and I’ve finally had enough.
