Don't worry about it mate. They are fixated on me, that's where the confusion would come from. You are speaking as a normal person. They are trying to play stupid games & make statements regarding certain people. That's all.

It's the internet. As soon as you start doing well, the worse this stuff gets. Especially on a format like this. On Faceache or Insta they can't do it, as they can be seen under their real name for what/who they actually are in reality. Under a fake profile they can be Superman, Terry Hearn & Rocky rolled into one on here. It's a good barometer of how well you are doing I have found. Self perception is quite a hard thing. Luckily I now have trolls only via this forum to remind me that I'm doing rather well

Meanwhile, in real life I get messages like this below on a daily basis from the best carp anglers in the country. This one from a few hours ago.

You can't have it both ways I have found. I get so much love from our customers. So I just have to deal with the sad trolls. One thing you can put your house on... Anyone who can become so obsessed with a person online that they do not even know, over a period of years... They are obviously not very happy/contented people in real life. Not really, or they would not be a troll in the first place. It's not very manly in the first place being an internet troll really, is it? Simple facts.

Best I could find to describe it

A dark mode website is a site designed with a dark background (usually black or deep grey) and light-colored text or UI elements. The goal is to reduce glare, improve readability in low‑light environments, and create a more dramatic visual style.

Out of your two options, "As in the camera feature" (I suppose)

Wouldn't read too much into it, I was simply that.

As in like a camera feature, or that the conversations or people were Dark? ( not in a racial way)
I must have missed, slipped by or just not registered anything remotely dark or sinister.Who gave it the "Dark" tag?

That was the other one I liked. I got confused with people saying carpform and Black forum.
Why do people call it the black forum, would anyone care to share?

Yes I was on the RMC forum as well.

It was very relaxed and friendly. I think we forget forums themselves were quite new in the early days.

Yes. I remember Mr Beaker.Quite a character he was. Not quite as obnoxious as the " Argumentitive Barsteward". However, he did like to push his weight, opinions and people around that would not concur quite regularly.

Every forum has one at times I guess. Adds a certain unpleasant taste in the mouth like stale mothballs when it gets too frequent. For me at least. I do miss the old Cemex and FW Forums and others. A more friendly, open format had by most back then. And so many great anglers and helpful genuine souls, with nothing to gain other than to simply help others progress and improve.

Wonderful.

FW was probably the first forum I joined. I must have been about 12 at the time. I got banned instantly by Paul for putting a post up about finding, and keeping, a Fox Mini Micron I acquired from a vacated swim at Darenth, one of the busiest day tickets on the planet at the time.

That was his name Bob yes. It was Poacher who asked me to join up & show some photos.

Yes that would have been me regarding Milton Pan. Never fished the Handle.

Cam, I used to hate his bait spamming even right back then. Now, I'm a bait spammer myself

My memory is not so good, I was trying to think of his name myself, but now you've prompted me yes it was Spencer. Humble was his surname?
If my memory is not letting me down I seem to remember reading it was you that done well on the Pan and Handle?
There were a lot of Poacher Bait fans on there. I remember Spencer telling others to keep the faith when they were thinking of dabbling with other companies.

I was just replying to Aidey, Mark. As it's clearly me he is referring to in the part of his post I quoted. I don't even know the black forum, just they mentioned it. And others have told me to that's where they would frequent after being banned from here.

I was super jet lagged when I wrote that post, it obviously was not very clear what I wrote. You got it with the one you mentioned who did not live in the UK. He's the only one of that group that did have our stuff at one point, that's what I meant... But even that, with him was to try to cause trouble with his group of enzyme pals. All the rest are UK. The ex members from here, including him, are all banned from here, history's wiped a couple of them. That was all long before I was a member here. They come back under numerous fake profiles. The Austrian got banned for pretty much stalking me with his fake profile friends. You will know who all of them are. It's no reflection on your black forum, as they were members here, and RMC too and now various other forums.

They don't really have 'beef' with me Mark. They don't even know me. Beef is something you have with men in real life, about real life stuff. Not people you don't even know on the internet. Not unless they're a bit strange/weird/obsessive/jealous.

It started when we first released our Garlics. That was six or seven years ago now. Continues to this day. Little group of them turned up on here to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about over & over again. Science & white papers know apparently. That did not seem to help them with their numerous failed bait firms/ventures they all had though. I stopped conversing about bait years ago on here because of them.

Just strange blokes who came together on the internet, with far, far to much time on their hands Mark.

Quote... There was, of course, the odd few who just continued being absolute helmets for their own vested interest to try and destroy the ventures of those on here.

If I have learnt one thing in my life so far... It's this... If you start doing 'ok', then you will instantly attract the very obsessive attention, of people who are unfortunately not doing so well. That's life. SHB was going for five or six years, long before I ever joined this forum. It was already doing very well. The better it does now, the more attention I get online, from the ones who life itself ain't working out so well for. I did not even know of this 'black forum' until its bait buffs decided I was a target.

To a man, these blokes are all carp anglers. None of the ones based in the UK have ever even used our stuff (to my knowledge). If they did use our stuff, as carp anglers (& bait buffs) they would get a real shock to their system. They would instantly understand. That would never happen, simply because they all have their own dreams. But if it did happen, they would instantly see exactly WHY it is we are doing 'ok'... From the very first time that they ACTUALLY used the stuff. Internet talk is cheap. So very cheap. You can't fake real though. They can say what they want Aidey. I am very proud of SHB. I'm very proud of what has been achieved over the past decade. When I am on my deathbed, I will not remember the money, or any trappings. I will remember all the lovely messages I get so often. Messages from real anglers, thanking me so dearly for the hook baits. That's what matters. I'm **** at a lot of things. One thing I'm not **** at, is making hook baits which catch big carp.

CarpGods (Darenth Valley) was the first internet carp forum I used. Followed by RMC. Followed by CarpForum.

I've never been a lover of Faceache or Insta. I don't even have a personal insta account.

There's a difference between somewhere being cliquey, and somewhere being a community.

To me, the black forum was a community. Regular socials and charity events, and it linked many great anglers who fished Yateley, Kent and the midlands. I never knew it then, but I was nattering with some proper dark horses and blokes who I would trust to catch me a fish if my life depended on it.

I'm still in contact with many of them twenty plus years later, and saw a lot of them progress their way into this hobby in one way or another. There was, of course, the odd few who just continued being absolute helmets for their own vested interest to try and destroy the ventures of those on here. No different to many other forums.

The black forum may have died due to one reason or another, but it taught a gobby 18 year old how to write, be articulate (to an extent) and showed that just because the platform may have changed, it didn't stop those on it still engaging in each others lives in one way or another in a positive manner.
