Do you make any of your bait yourself ? If I were you, I'd be using a base mix containing a good proportion of shrimp shell meal, krill, soya isolate or a combination of all three. I've accidentally produced floating baits years ago when using these ingredients. You can use this mix to produce round boilies, pellets, cubed floater cake, etc. This will get get round the bait ban and also probably cost you less than 4 quid a kilo, depending on ingredients. You could also start with a ready-made base mix and add bicarb. Ultimately, it all depends on whether or not you can be bothered 😊.

This ban is now apparently applied to all the club waters. Love me floater fishing
Looks like I'll now be paying 4 quid a kilo for floating trout pellet. Where before I was paying that amount for 5 kilo of dog mixer. This in some way will restrict the amount people will use
Which is what the club is maybe hoping to achieve. 5 kilo limit.. but to say floating dry pet food causes digestive issue in the fish is a load of nonsense..

Old Chris ball, bless him will be turning in his grave

Only floaters bought from tackleshops. Or floating pellet bought from the club allowed. The irony is most of the floaters sold in shops are just oversprayed dry pet food..

I expect we both belong to the same club. Publicity bans mean no names. They are saying only floaters specifically made and sold as fish feed can be used . No information provided as to the rationale for the rule change. Having said that I know there have been problems with birds getting hooked up recently. How ducks are supposed to know the difference is beyond me..

It's likely just a match orientated committee making daft decisions like a lot of clubs do. That's the joys of club waters unfortunately

It's not made up of much and gets mopped by fish and wildfowl anyway. Can't see it being a major detriment. I've had carp swimming around squiring out orange from the sheer amount of cat biscuits they're eating.
Sounds like floating pellet only, which will be more beneficial for the fish in the long run I guess.
Weird one this imo

Is it just dog mixers that are banned?
I know some waters have banned floater fishing full stop but from what I remember usually down to waterfowl issues.

A local club water to me has introduced a ban on floating pet feed keeble on one of the waters they run. Apparently feed of this type is detrimental to a fishes health in large amounts. This is the first time I've heard this. Is there any truth in this??. Have any other waters introduced such bans. Or is this all just sudo science. Introduced by committee members who don't really no what there talking about.
