In reply to Post #4 Any investment in North Sea oil or gas would be a licence and the oil companies would insist on market value sales so stop playing politics

In reply to Post #8 I use AP every time time for tunnel and ferries unless going via Brittany ferries as, they get very little discount with them.

I looked the other day at the tunnel and it was £180ish
That's if your willing to travel this far

Booked via Ferrysavers in Jan for my May trip. Just me and the Kuga on Irish Ferries, £212. Probably double that now.

In reply to Post #7 Anton have you tried AP crossings? Always found Charlotte very helpful and competitive.
No harm asking

In reply to Post #3 Expected a rise but, not to that degree !

In reply to Post #5 If we weren't so reliant on others oil & gas
Unfortunately the UK sold off all there oil and gas to foreign investors years ago.
The Scottish make more money off whisky sales now than they do from oil supplies, its shocking.

In reply to Post #4 If we weren't so reliant on others oil & gas, and maybe didn't have virtue signalling Milliband in charge who won't allow the U.K to use it's North Sea field reserves, perhaps we wouldn't be as vulnerable as we are.
Maybe if we kept any reserves other than a few days worth, we wouldn't be at the whim of traders.
To blame trump for our own woes, bit too easy, and to not help him with Iran, Europe should be ashamed of itself, maybe not, is it 20 million a day in extra fuel duty & vat the U.Ks raking in.....go figure.
A very worrying seen before precedent emerging.

In reply to Post #1 To be expected with the fuel issues being faced globally.

Just looking at an impromptu extra trip in May from 23rd to 31st and Brittany Ferries want between £600 and £815 for what usually costs me around £350 to £450 !
Looks like I will only be doing my April trip this year and not my usual 3 trips.
What with the cost of fuel which has impacted the ferry prices and availability of fuel for my van, 💩 times ahead for travelling Anglers.
