,"Hello Nicky,

I can send you a 32.5mm colour filter from the office. Please note, it won't fit over the head of your torch since it's not large enough, so you would need to tape it around the head of the torch. Would that be helpful for you?

Best regards,
Faiza"

That was really nice of them..

I think yours is 39mm. These might work https://www.flashaholics.co.uk/products/eagletac-flip-up-filter-and-diffuser.html?srsltid=AfmBOorqE10uBX6Faj9sHf07uNDXbjil2BhzmhovLTwg2M7WnWqJo1rj
Nitecore do a 40mm, so with a couple of turns of tape around the barrel it should work, or just a piece of red film and an elastic band.

I asked them about filters..
Of course they said "we do them but not for your model"

Some torches have clip on filter kits available, have a check for yours.
I just use some red film held on with an elastic band, works surprisingly well.

Get a red filter lens for it and see how you get on.

Is the tufty torch a normal torch with a thinner beam but a green light?
I am asking because I have a powerful torch with adjustable beam but it's white, I though maybe I could change the colour of the bulb or glass?

There's so many. Search eBay for 10000 or 20000 lumen red torches or scope torches. Amazon probably the same. I found one that is exactly the same, even down to the battery type but didn't have the carplife branding, cost me about £16 on eBay years ago.

The CREE5 led maxes out much lower lumen wise. You can find better for much cheaper.

I've tried a few and none come close to the Carplife one. Do you have a link to one that matches the Carplife one without the carp tax? As I would love a spare!

Tuftys and Coots these work pretty well and better as it it gets darker. But anything else swans mallards moorhens grebe just give you a look as if to say wow 🥱. Laser pens I've seen used on lakes and I'm pretty sure they must spook fish also.

I have an eBay generic green laser pen, & while powerful, they're difficult to aim & not that effective during the daytime IMO.

However, I did witness a true miracle the other week. A chap on the lake was using a genuine Tufty Torch & the results were nothing short of outstanding. Very effective on all birdlife so it seems, at least at my place.

I've seen cheaper alternatives to the Tufty using what look like identical casings on eBay that might be worth a punt.

LINKY POO™ https://ebay.us/m/ejb87P

I'd be surprised if they use the same CREE LED though, but the reviews seem to be good.

You can get the Carplife one without the carp tax from eBay. It's a gun torch, just get one with the highest lumens as some will be low. Check the listing.

Convoy L21B Is what you want. I think you'll be disappointed with 'other' red torches

£33 on AliExpress (depending on the voucher you get). I bought the holster too for a bit of protection. I thinks a touch too big but really works fine.

I've tried a few and the carplife tufty torch is by far the best. It works in the daytime usually.
