In reply to Post #5 I fished south of Paris (Seine) just past fontainebleau and got distroyed by barges (blanked)
We did set up closer to Paris but we were surrounded by high rise apartments and the whole area felt very dodgy so we moved down to the lot. We had fish there but keep away from Paris.

try the Geopeche app. Its brilliant and much better than the fed peche websites, which are usually rubbish

In reply to Post #1 The link below takes you to website for the Yonne, which comes under the public ‘carte de peche’ system.
https://www.federation-peche-yonne.fr/
On the home page, click on Guide de la Peche. Which gives you an ‘e-booklet’.
A lot of blab blab in the booklet. Key pages are:
> 18-19 : maps
> 26 onwards which lists all waters (river, canal, still) that permit night fishing (peche de la carpe de nuit), including (for example) links to reserve, maps that show which sections of a water can be night fished from carp, etc.
You should reserve, and check if supplements are applicable to be paid. Simply having a carte de peche does not automatically permit to night fish (many of the sections have local association regs that require reservation and/or supplement payment).
For the Seine, this will be the stretch that runs through Melun, Fontainbleau. (Department 77)
The website is a bit of a dogs dinner : https://www.federationpeche77.fr/4348-carte-interactive-complete.htm
The carp night fishing sections are marked in purple on the interactive map. You then have to hunt around to find which association manages them, and thus contact them to organise reserving and paying supplement (if applicable).

In reply to Post #1 Find out what district you want to fish and consult the federation’s webpage.
The Seine and Yonne might have some sectors which are allowed to do nights.
These sectors can be found on the federation’s webpage m!

Ive done a lot of fishing down that area, but always on the private lakes but fancy a trip fishing the rivers, not after any spots its more a question of permits and restrictions and what should I watch out for, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. PM's welcome.
