Yes I have left the rods out when the boats have passed

As you say pin it down with back leads one in the channel and one of the rod tips
Leadcore on the rig end helps pin that end down

Heavy baits if it’s busy so they don’t get washed away if it’s busy

Also depends on boat traffic I hate fishing when the boats are busy

Just after some advice.

Never carp fished one but done the whole pleasure and match fishing on them.

So what i really need to know is. Do you leave rods out when boats pass by?

If yes do you drop a back lead in the centre and one on the rod tip to pin the line down.
If so what size back leads do you use. Or is it a case of wind in every time or fish evenings through until the first boat appears.

Also what reels do people use on 10ft rods.

Many Thanks for your help

Paul
