The first two series are untouchable IMO. Everything that followed was just a little repetitive and OTT (even by their standards).

Absolutely Fabulous.
Father Ted.
Royle Family.
Red Dwarf.
Rising Damp.

There have been so many good sitcoms in the past I had to have another go.
The quality of TV nowadays is poor in comparison.

Terry Scott’s best role ever has to be Tarzan in carry on up the jungle, brilliant

Not a fan of the 3rd series of bottom? What about the live shows? Just depressed myself by seeing the third series was released 31 years ago.

Damn how had I forgotten peep show 🤬 so many great quotes!!

My Nan bought me bottom live on video back in probably 92-93. I was way too young but she was fairly clueless about it all. I’ll never forget her face when she’d put it on and monicker the blow up doll made an appearance!😆 great days!!

I’ve tried hard over the years to enjoy it. Watched it several times over and just can’t get into it.
It’s a favourite of a good mate of mine and we’re off to watch the live show later this year. Hope there’s ice cream at the interval otherwise I’m going to struggle!!

Hi all, hope that everyone’s had a great Christmas and new year.
One topic that came up in our house over Christmas was to name our top 5 sitcoms of all time. It got quite heated at times and it’s certainly harder than I thought it would be.
My final 5 in the end were…

1. Only fools and horses (annoyingly predictable but I’m a super fan)
2. One foot in the grave (criminally underrated writing and laugh out loud every ep)
3. Royle family (Queen of Sheba ep is a masterpiece)
4. The good life (probably because it reminds me of mum and dad also called Tom and Barbara)
5. In sickness and in health (of it’s time but still makes me howl)

I’d be interested in anybody else’s choices.

Lots of honourable mentions..
men behaving badly
Early doors
Black adder
Porridge
George and Mildred (don’t judge me!😆
