I went to visit 2 friends who were fishing on B2 just before Christmas. Neither have been fishing that long and they both rely quite heavily on the korda vids etc. To the extent that they both use 12ft 4lb kaizen greens.

Anyway, there was no one fishing opposite them and the fish were showing about 50yds past where they could reach so I said I'd try and get them out there. One of them uses basias with 12lb long chuck, the other 45 emblems with 15lb kaizen mono.

Despite being the same rods in the same length and tc, they felt like 2 totally different rods. I could reach the fish with rods and emblems, but was a good 25 yds short with the other set (that in theory should have been able to fish further). The shorter casting set felt heavier but a totally different action to the other set. More a cheap bulky 3lb tc than 4lb. I'm convinced they they must have been marked up wrong.

I think if you were maxing the 2 sets out, there would be a good 40-50 yd difference in how far they would cast

You can currently buy the 13ft 3.5tc Daiwa Longbow X45m for £149.99, which is hell of lot of rod for the money

Had a set of 4lbs 12 foot for a while. Banging rods for the money. Won't be buying expensive crappy customs anymore. Disposable rods at 120 one breaks just buy another

Or could be the amount of sets people win on the raffle sites?

I bought a set of the 4lb for lobbing bags. I think they're great for the money.

The market seems to be flooded with kaizen green rods for sale. I was looking at getting a set of 4lb 13ft rods for distance but wondering if they have issues?
