In reply to Post #3 The aviators are an absolute joy to play fish on. They are overfit joints as all harrison blanks are . If you go for alps reel seats dont forget to get a size bigger than fuji as you may struggle to fit your reels.

In reply to Post #1 I have used a set for a couple of years. Definately a players rod. I dont really fish over 80 yards myself. Perfect. Kev Clayton built mine. Superb.

Was in the same boat and went Aviator flex. Only used them twice lovely to cast with i cant cast over 100 yards no matter what rods i use as my technique is crap. Can’t comment on displaying action as haven’t hooked anything yet

In reply to Post #1 They are beautiful to play fish on. I wouldn't ever let my set go. Most definitely not a broomstick

Hi All
Mentioned on here a while back I'm up for a new pair of rods.
Fish only at Close - Medium range nothing over 75 Yds EVER.
Had my mind made up on a pair of Century Fat Boy Slims in 12 ft 2 3\4 test.
Really balanced well smashing thinks i.
Was just going to have ALPS real seats installed by the factory as an extra.
The only thing that irked me slightly was that they were not a full carbon weave.
Then today i hear about Harisons Aviator Flex 12 Ft in 3lb 2oz Test.
Apparently also a through action "Players rod"
(Except it has a full carbon weave,)
To me a 3lb test curve rod wants me to run screaming to the hills given the distances im casting with 1 3/4 - 2 oz leads, And im damn lucky if i hook anything big enough to the butt section
Im still leaning to the FBS.
Just wondered Is the Aviator Flex a players rod or more of a stick...
Answers on a postcard..
