I picked up a Henkelman Jumbo 42 with 12,000 bags (300mm x 400mm) for a good price back in the summer from a pet shop that was having a clear out. My kids take the p out of me now as I tend to vacuum seal everything I can
I now don't freeze my boilies as they last fine in the bags once sealed and get used up in a month or two anyway just from pre-baiting (I haven't manged to cast a line since June....is it still 'pre-baiting' if you then don't get around to fishing!). I haven't tried particles yet but planning to do so soon and see how long they last.
I am not sure I will ever use up 12k bags though and they are currently taking up a lot of room that I could do with getting back for other stuff

I prefer the pre-cut bags as they are quicker / less agg - the A4 sized ones take 1kg perfectly with no need to trim prior. I use the smaller bags for smaller quants (eg winter days sessions / barbel bashing) Make sure you use the 'moisture' setting when sealing fresh baits (semi frozen) to ensure all the air is sucked out properly.
I actually like the hexagonal shaped boilies that emerge when you seal softer baits, however if you wash out / place in liquids immediately they soon swell back to a normal spherical shape.
I always take more bait than is needed on a session (because the packs are more compact) and have no fear of returning sealed unused packs back to the freezer as there's no danger of the freezer burn / ice build up that you get with standard ziplock bags. Fresh bait immediately vac sealed also lasts up to a month in the fridge (without freezing) so def worth it for quick grab n go sessions / in bulk prior to longer trips eg France

I also have a Bonsenkitchen sealer, model number VS3802. I use the Fresko pre-cut bags, 20 x 30 cm and can get 1kg of boilies in one bag. Also perfect for storing food in the freezer ready to take to the lake and reheat in the RIdgemonkey.

In reply to Post #1 I have the vacuum sealer as below from Amazon. I seal loads of stuff all the time fresh trout fillets when coming back from fly fishing , all manner of food stuffs + boiles in fact I sealed up just of a kilo today that I brought home from my last session. When I bulk buy bait ether frozen or shelf life I always decant and seal bags in 1kg measures make life so much easier for storage in the freezer or in storage boxes for shelf lifes as you get nice flat slabs.
At 1st there is a bit of trail and error depending if you have it on auto or manual vac and seal setting. On auto it could be viewed as slightly too powerful as you can squish the boiles from a round to a square like shape. That doesn't bother me in the slightest though they still go out in the pond and get munched the same. Hey it may even be a an edge but I doubt it .
I buy large bags can't remember the size of hand but you will find them on Amazon too to fit your needs. I also buy the the vacuum material on a roll that way you can make up bags any size you want. Just a little more effort as you have to deal and edge 1st to create your bespoke bag before you fill, then vac n seal.

Evening , any recommendations for a decent one if these that is capable of sealing boilies etc into bags - say 1/2 to 1kg each .TIA
