There was a post on fb last wk where someone bought the copy rx+ and he said the cases were more or less identicle but when opened up they were totally different with cheap components and virtually zero waterproofing. He also had photos of each alarm side by side and the copys were nothing like the rx+ once opened.

Original delks were faultless
Swapped for Neville's as they are bombproof yet managed to kill 5 of them - had to keep getting Daletronics to sort. Went back to delks and they went back twice despite me religiously drying them - even taking the pots off so they could dry properly.

Now using ATTS and they have been faultless so far. Goes beep when the line occasionally moves, all I want from an alarm

Another delkim user purchased mine from Leslie's of Luton in 99. I remember the alarms cost £137.50 per head a lot of money back then.
They were faultless.

I part ex'd these for the txi d V1s 3 years ago.
Like the txis they have also been faultless.

Same here, been a delkim user for 25 years, got the TXI-D, had problems with all of them, battery drain, dodgy volume pots, had them all fixed (they actually replaced them, even though they initially denied it) After 12 months volume pot problems again, sent back, had repairs done (at a cost again)

sold them... got Fox RX Plus....

...... and one of them wouldn't switch on at the second outing

3 of mine went back, when the volume was turned down, sound still come out the head, sensitivity issue.....this is a common fault and I had to pay 30 per alarm to get it fixed....they know about this fault and im sure this is the reason the v2 was rushed through....I got mine back and sold them straight away... the fact they lied to me that its not a common fault but ive read so many people have had the same problems....ill never buy delkim again

I'll give you an example.
So a company I was associated with did a test purchase of some Chinese “bite alarms” copies of a well known brand.
Whilst they operated identically and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference when opened up they used Chinese semiconductor manufacturers not the western ones that the original manufacture had used.

So like has been said on the thread if the items don't cost a lot it's up to that individual if they want to use Chinese copies, but if it's an expensive item I know what I'd do.

Like your iPhone lots of companies design them in their country (like California for the iPhone with Western technology) then get the Chinese to assemble.
An easy way to get around patents is use Chinese silicon manufacturers, but many companies patent the casing etc

A few months ago Fox Tackle took a Chinese computer to court for patent infringement and closed them down.

I've been working in the manufacturing industry for over 25 years and been fortunate to travel to most countries.
Not everything is made in China a lot comes from Japan, Eastern Europe and other low labour cost countries around South America,

They just reverse engineer and sell debranded / under another brand name.
It isn't hard to copy bite alarms they've been doing it for years with phones and tablets.

I would say electronically they are different to get around patents, it's how tackle manufacturers protect themselves.
They of course won't come with any guarantees
Hirishi are just another Chinese brand of which there are loads.

If your on a budget don't mind the odd failure, then good luck

They ain't copying nothing. Fox produce nothing like 90% of our tackle it's all made in China and badged up for fox nash korda. They may have some input/say in design and guarantee an item won't be produced for anyone else while current for fox or nash. But then the producer is free to do whatever once they have finished with said item.

Hirisi is a carp brand you find all over TEMU.
I've bought cheapy bobbins / quick connect adaptors and things like that - and they've been fine for the money. Not bought anything expensive/technical from that brand though

Hirisi are a major china tackle brand, probably supplying/copying many uk items.
The sonik hero x alarm looks like the same as the hirisi. no idea on reliability of either.
The hirisi are £45 for 3+1 set. The sonik are £85. The fox micron x are £180.

Is the Hirisi a copy of the Mini Micron X. The ones I've seen don't look the same.
I've never heard of Hirisi before, are they reliable?

Bought some ECU Super Compacts with the bug eye because of their old school look.

At first I wasnt keen on them at all with all the knobs and also they were the least loud indicators I have ever had.
Fishing them on and off for 2 years now they have become my most used indicators because they are just so reliable, analog and easy to use. They are small too and not as chunky as the FOX.

Wanted Mini Micron X but then saw the Hirisi copy on Ali and I must say for that price I am extremely impressed. Not sure if you really need more than a Fox Mini Micron X or that Hirisi copy.

Ha ...

So from the below it basically seems like you pays yer money you takes yer choice..

Some swear by Fox others have had issues (to me the look excessively clunky)
Some swear by Delcs but most not it seems !!

I'm getting the Gizmo 2s
Good value all the features i need and more besides... ! Fair few good reports

And yes i look after my all my kit but feel let down by the original TXi+ Delcs.
For the money i would of expected better TBH..

Completely agree. They are electronic products, folk forget to ensure they are not packed away wet / placed upside down to allow drainage after use.
They get banged about in our tackle bags, forget to screw the battery cover on straight.

In the majority of recorded case I'd say the above is likely user error.

I know they aren't universally like on here from what I've read but I've been using Trakker DB7-R alarms for about a year now and they have been excellent, not missed a beat... but i also have a set of ATTs as back up and they are brilliant little alarms too.

Adjusting the sensitivity is only part of it. Thinking about the whole setup of your rods, the indicators you're using both play a part too. There is no need to turn the sensitivity down so you're "not in touch" at all. Delkims are the most versatile alarms on the market, and that's a fact. Hence why most predator anglers use them for example

The worst thing that Delkim did was release the tarty multi coloured condom cases. Everyone bought them and assumed you could pack a damp battery powered device away in a rubber sheath in November and it would be fine two weeks later, or next spring!

I think all alarms can possibly suffer from water egress - I bet the majority of the time it happens is when gear is stashed wet and quickly gets forgotten about until the next session.
Anyone with a brain know electronics and water doesn't mix - on this basis I've been using oversized re-usable silica gel bags in my alarm / bait boat and camera bags for several years . .

The 'only' issue I've ever had with any alarm (the first was a Fox RX Digital) was a battery cap corroding randomly on one of the terminals after about 2-3yrs of use - not the battery itself - just the terminal. I sent all the alarms to Dalectronics and had the caps updated just incase. In a weird twist of fate one of my 6x TXID V1s suffered exactly the same fate a month ago. . . fixed and returned within a week under Delkim extended warranty - would you get the same turnaround with Pox or Gash these days?!

Sh*t happens sometimes - to right off Delks on the basis of a tiny proportion of users reporting water issues doesn't make them a bad product!

Stupid - wow!! I think after 35 years of carp fishing experience I should be able to set a Delkim up correctly!! So the answer is clearly to turn the sensitivity down so the rain drops/wind etc don't cause vibration on the line. The downside is clearly that low sensitivity means I am not in touch with what is now happening out in the lake as much as I want to be. No thanks - I have my Sirens on high sensitivity and as a result they only bleep when the line is moved by a fish. Simple!!

I've been using the Nash R3's pretty much since their release. What's that, maybe eight or nine years ago? I fish no matter what the weather summer and winter and they have been absolutely perfect throughout that time. The few occasions I actually thought one was going wonky it turned out to need a new battery. The batteries seem to last absolutely ages.

I've been using them since way before YouTube etc. and don't have any problem ls with wind or rain bleeps , because I know how to use them. It's not the alarms fault that people are too stupid to figure them out

I changed from Delkims to Nash sirens probably 7-8 years ago and have never looked back. Everybody seems to want Delkims (probably because they are used by all the high profile angers on YouTube) but the reality is they are awful. They bleep when it rains, bleep when it's windy - who honestly wants that? I find the Sirens (currently R4s) to be excellent and they only bleep when something is happening out in the lake. The range is fantastic, battery life excellent and I honestly don't see another alarm on the market that is even close to it.

I agree it's very sad. I'm old enough to remember their court battle with Dellareed - the original alarms were truly groundbreaking. I have spoken to Delkim about the reliability issue many times and although their after service is good, (albeit at a postage cost to me of £6.50 every time), they 100% deny any reliability issues..........

Isn't that such a shame, that's the sort of post Delkim should read as they've lost brand loyalty that lasted near 3 decades
I hope for the brand, given the competition nowadays that Mr Fairbrass buys them and improves any reliability issues they may, or may not have.

Delkim rested on their laurels for a long time, the battery door being a example, it's a different alarm world out there now, I just hope declining sales and loss of brand loyalty won't be the factor for sale and if they do sell better sooner than later.

As much as i hate to say it I would steer clear of the Delks. I have posted before: I had a set of the original Delkims with the plug in transmitter and remote (TX2000?). Worked perfectly for 29yrs rain or shine. Bought a set of TXiDs and out of 4 heads and one remote I have had at least 6 replacement heads and 2 replacement remotes if not more. Last return was a month ago and now the 3yr warranty has run out it cost me £30. I must have spent £60 on postage alone. Next time one breaks it's going to be a set of no frills Gardner alarms for me...............

Ive just gone over to txd v1 delks from cheap old bullet proof fox mmx as I wanted to have a receiver so i could keep the alarms quiet at the bank. Like the feature of muting the alarm while u adjust the rods plus the nightlight bobbins are decent too. Definitely glad i chose these.

Walk round most lakes and you'll see the majority of alarms are Delk's, and there's a good reason for that.
Not round this way they're not. No Delkim hate from me, if I could have total confidence in them I'd still be using them as there is no Fox alternative with vibe other than buying older alarms

That be the same Delks that look like tonka toys against Nev's which make a noise, do sensitivity and are waterproof unlike (most) Delks 😂😂.

I have never ever understood how someone is prepared to spend their hard earned on something that might or might not be waterproof 😂😂 😛

Disagree! All new fox alarms look like Tonka toys to me . . .oversized and clunky - a backwards design step in both looks and functionality from the RX Digitals I owned for decades.

Stick with Delks - my TXIDs (V1s) and EVDs have been perfect - compact / decent functionality and remote / excellent accessories (eg integrated snag ears / slim-lite indicators etc)

Whats not to like?!

I've got a set of Delrin mk4 bug eyes, had them around 18 months. Had a few issues with one of them to start but got it sorted through Steve.
The range is better from a couple of tests in France although I mostly just use the sounder to keep my fishing to myself. Heads on silent and sounder super low volume next to me.
Bug eyes are good in the daytime but in the pitch black of night, you can't tell which rod has gone as the whole swim is lit up, mine are all the same colour which just makes it worse.
The storm setting is a massive upgrade, really good on windy sessions etc.

Don't bother changing them. Just get Dalectronics or someone else similar to fix it

Fox RX+ or if budget conscious, Micron X. They are much the same, and I've owned both.

Avoid Nash, my fishing buddy has some and they were definitely made on a Friday in comparison.

Hi All

A chunk of time back i got a pair of Delkim TXi+ alarms.

One is still fine however one suffered water ingress after a particularly extended dowwnpour a few years back.
Basically its tone adjustment is shot as a consiquence.

If i change them out any recommendations (particularly where they have a high tolerance to H2O !!!

As ever ive some thoughts but wont add them yet just to see if thoughts here match general blurb..
