In reply to Post #20 Thanks for your reply. I will think about it a bit more. It's a lot of money for fabric stitched in a square.

In reply to Post #23 Yes, looked at that range too, but then I read someone mentioning bad zips there too....

In reply to Post #26 sick of waiting for the 12ft tri sleeve tbh...would of been one of the 1st things id brought out

In reply to Post #23 Range is getting bigger but no plans for a 13ft tri sleeve

In reply to Post #21 None of them zip one handed or smoothly around corners one or two handed. Having to tug at a zip isn't good quality imo
The rucksack I had before was an Aqua one and they all did and were thicker and just felt more robust.

In reply to Post #22 ive seen some videos on their gear and it looks decent, would like to see it in the flesh for sure

The Carp Life luggage gets some decent feedback.

In reply to Post #20 I cant say having to zip the pouches up using two hands.has ever been a really inconvenience tbh, when I say the zips are good I mean the quality of them, how robust and hard wearing they are. not if they zip one handed.

In reply to Post #15 None of the zips freely zip up/around mainly because the fabric sags/bows especially if there is any weight in the pockets.
For example none of the three zips on the front pouches zip up freely. I have to hold the pouch with one hand and zip with the other hand.
Same with the top/main opening it just won't zip up or open just using one hand. I have to hold the fabric in one hand and zip with the other.
If the fabric was stiffer I don't think this would be too much of an issue. Royally p's me off considering how much it cost me. Don't really know who's military grade zips they've used because they are naff.
With regards to the shoulder straps they don't pull tight, I have to bend over so the pack is flat on my back then pull each strap tight separately, again having to use two hands rather than just tugging it with one hand standing upright.
It really is a pile of pap or maybe I'm just being unreasonable and shouldn't expect military grade zips to zip up one handed?
It is a real shame there are no decent tackle shops left down this way with a selection of ones to look at and try and just about the only reason I'm still using the Speero rucksack because I can't afford to buy another duffer no matter how good people on the internet says it is

Had a Speero compact since they came out. No issues at all . 6ft 2 and zero issues with comfort. Modular clip on cool bag on top does all food for an overnighter. So impressed I have bought a lot more of the luggage range since.

+1 for the speero. Love the modularity of it.
I often go fishing with the missus, so I've got clip-on bags with her alarms etc. that I can just clip-on when she's joining me & leave ready to go at home when it's just me

In reply to Post #15 I would honestly look at the Korda 30L or TA rucksack. I recently switched to the TA one and absolutely love it!

In reply to Post #14 What was the problem with the zips on your compact rucksack Dave?

In reply to Post #12 Yeah should have said, mines the compact one.

In reply to Post #12 You won’t be disappointed in the speero , quality kit 👌

In reply to Post #11 thw zips on mine are spot on, I found the compact rucksack to be painful on the neck and too of the back but the standard one i find sits ok
|

The Speero rucksack is OK, but the zips are terrible added to the fact the sides collapse the zips can be a pita to do up.
Also, the Speero rucksack doesn't sit well on the back, so long walks can equal a bad back. Adding modular stuff to it isn't very good too, just makes it sit even worse.
If the zips were army grade and the straps adjustable at the top as well as the bottom the rucksack would be almost perfect.
I have considered getting rid and replacing for something better, but not convinced anything exists so I just don't load it up too much and don't add any modular stuff to it.
EDIT: infact if you want to buy a modular rucksack and cool bag to clip on let me know 😂😂

In reply to Post #8 Great thanks!

In reply to Post #5 the zips are perfect, it must be 5 years ive had it...

In reply to Post #6 In my experience zips are one of the first things to go on items like this, after stitching obviously. I also see lots of mentions about using 'military grade' zips on all sorts of products while still being crap. So, to me, the mention of military grade zips doesn't impress really. I have experience with small Speero items (and like their quality), but I am interested in how these zips keep when they are more intensively (ab)used.
For instance, I had a special goretex bag made to carry my pillow by a company that was also recommended here a few times. On the 3rd time of using it normally, the 2 parts of the zip separated which makes that I can't close the bag anymore....

In reply to Post #5 What is your concern with the zips?they are fine on every bit of luggage I had of theirs. They make military gear so dont use cheap items on their gear

In reply to Post #4 Sounds great, guys. Thanks for this confirmation!
Andy, you wrote you've had it since it can out. How long do you recon you've had it then? 2020 I think that rucksack was released? And do the zips still work okay?

In reply to Post #3 ive got the speero compact and standard rucksack...I cant get on with the compact one, uncomfortable for me as it sits too high towards my shoulders...the standard one though is perfect, very comfortable for longbwalks and is quite durable, ive had it since it came out and only now is it showing signs of wear and tbh that probably down to me catching it on the house as im walking down to the shed to put it away.

In reply to Post #1 The speero rucksack is superb, comfy to carry long distances. You wont have any issues with zips, the build quality is excellent.Cotswold is uncomfortable and the build quality can be very hit and miss. You see alot of secondhand cotswold stuff with zip or stitching issues

In reply to Post #1 I've got one. Absolutely no issues with the zips.
It's a big rucksack, but is very well made and has certainly lasted the test of time and any abuse I have thrown at it.
They come with 2-3 internal pouches that can be removed (velcro) which is also super handy

Good morning gentlemen,
I currently have the Solar SP Barrow/Ruckbag and just sold a Solar Undercover Ruckbag. I like the quality of the Solar bags: always has been reliable quality to me.
I also have some Speero or Cotswold Aquarius items and those have also always served me right.
Now I think about buying a new rucksack, I think about buying the Speero Modular Rucksack (bigger one) as I can buy several pouches (with day or night session kit) and clip them on the main rucksack as now I use a different rucksack for fishing day sessions or night sessions but I would like one rucksack for all.
Which brand would you go for? The Speero rucksack, a Solar or a Cotswold Aquarius rucksack?
Everything about the Speero I love (including all the rave reviews about their rucksacks and bags). Only thing I 'worry' about is the zips: those aren't as big as for instance Solar uses. If that is an issue, I don't know?
