Ive always worried the stems will be sticking up in the air with these - especially the longer ones.
Instead I make my own short leaders about 6" long - on the bottom I splice a double big-ring swivel (I get mine from Bank tackle), with the leader spliced onto one of the big rings, and the other big-ring I loop-to-loop a short rig, or just grinner knot one on there. On the other end of the leader I splice a small loop to attach to the mainline.
Using a splicing needle slide a lead rubber onto the leader (fat end towards the swivel) and a 2-3" length of silicon - or just a cut-down (long) rig aligner onto the leader (to cover the knot - Im a bit anal about protecting the fishes flanks).
The lead rubber is just to hold the lead in place when its pulled tight and the upper spliced loop I either grinner knot my mainline or if Im especially lazy just loop to loop - but I can tie a grinner in less than 10s with my eyes closed so no real saving in time.
I also usually remove the un-used ring the other side of the swivel so that I can just push the barrel of the swivel into the bottom of the inline lead liner, then wrap the leader round the outside of the lead (usually 3oz flat pear) and trap the other end of the leader using the lead rubber. That way the lead drops off on a take, but, the lead is retained on retrieval.
You can then make up as many of these as you need and pre-tie your PVA bags with just a few inches of the leader and a the spliced loop sticking out of the top and if like me with the silicon to cover the knot.
Ive even made a short extension with a quick-change swivel spliced onto another short length of lead free leader - just two make it easier tying the bag.
Works for me - and Im not sat there worrying about the stalk sticking up in the air.
Also works with rig-tubing if its a rule on your water - you just need to slide it down to the knot if you tie it with a grinner and cover the join with the silicon tube or cut-down rig-aligner

As I do with braid spods and lures. Short length of braid knotted around the line forming the loop. Slide it to the bottom of the loop. Cut the two tags so about 1/4 Inc long.
Pull on the two tags and it opens it up. It won't restrict casting and no tools that can damage the line or braid. Literally grab pull n job done no struggle no searching for tools.

I just tie them on with a palomar knot. Then snip it off and tie next one on, takes about 10 seconds!

You could always use the Gemini stems the loops are bigger than others as it just a pin hole in the stem

Hi folks, I tie a large loop in my mainline to loop the pve stems on, but have a hell of a job undoing the loop in order to put a new bag on.
Is there a quick and easy way?
