In reply to Post #28 Download the duckduckgo browser, in it open youtube webby, when you click on a vid you should get the option to open the vid in Duckplayer instead of youtube. Every now and then Youtube might block you, but not often

In reply to Post #25 Brilliant thanks, I wish I'd have known this before very very much appreciated for this info, I can watch again without all the 💩

I only ever watch anglers on their EU adventures now. Jim Lightfoot, Samir, Baitworks, Otto Reade etc.
I think it depends at what stage of your angling life you're at. Many have used the same bait, same mono, same hooks etc for many years, so the advertorial totalcarp days are long behind you.
It's a bit different if you're wet behind the ears theoretically, and wish to soak up every bit of information you can to see what fits your situation.
The only issue is, opinions are rarely based on science, so I take a lot of the advertorials with a pinch of salt as they are based on selling the product on offer.

In reply to Post #25 Is that via a web link or on the YouTube app?

Not carpfishing, but for those who like all species, Artificial flight is a pretty good YT uploader.
Only 6 videos, all shot really well with zero emphisis on product or instruction.

In reply to Post #24 Download Duckduckgo browser and when you click on the youtube vid choose Duckplayer, no more ads

In reply to Post #4 There are ad blocking apps you can use to get around this, I started using one a few months ago after getting tired of adverts every 5 minutes.
For me same as many of you guys, Terry of course, Simon Crow, Jim Lightfoot, Briggs, Some of the Bait works and Sticky stuff, Tinpot, most others are all ott and too full on.

In reply to Post #19 Thanks for the recommendation, I'm going to watch one of Joe Morgan's vids later.

Kenny Parsons stuff is pretty good. He's a guide on places like Hamps Avon etc Barbel & chub mainly.

You can watch darrell peck book an entire lake for himself for 3 weeks so he can bore out the UK's biggest mirror if you want 👀

I really like 'The Magic of Fishing' by John Moorwood.
Not carp fishing (although he does occasionally), just general fishing on rivers, lakes, for a variety of species, in mostly scenic places, and he has a nice laid back style. Reminds me why I started fishing as a kid in the first place.

In reply to Post #18 I like a bit of penners myself.. bit of a conspiracy theorist.. but if you can get round that he speaks some sense. A lot of his stuff these days is behind his own pay wall. But he still puts out stuff from his sponsors on the tube.
Another guy I really like is Joe Morgans Carp Angle. Again he has his own pay wall. But a lot of his early stuff was put out on YouTube. Has a refreshing outlook on life and he's putting out his content for all the right reasons. That's why I subscribe. One of the cheapest out there £3.99 for roughly an hour and a half of content a month.. give his free stuff a watch. Dont think you will be disapounted.

I quite like Penning's vids, probably not a very popular choice as I never see him mentioned. He's one of the few that holds my attention for more than a few minutes & I tend to just listen & absorb what he says like a sponge as he always seems to make sense to me.
Some good suggestions here that I hadn't heard of before.

In reply to Post #15 Reef addicts are good, the new pacemaker boat looks nice. If you like that sort of thing, you may like rokkit kit, field days, ybs youngbloods
For carp, i quite enjoy steve briggs, some of the nash stuff like the banx vids or samir, the dovey n spooner stuff for a laugh, lightfoot and not seen kev ellis for a while

I watch loads on YouTube - Ginger Fisherman, Des Taylor, Jim L, Biker Piker etc................. but for something very different "Reef Addicts" takes some beating, what a life style!
|
|
|
Lots of all too serious stuff, give me the Totally Awesome Fishing Show, last week it was boiled potatoes, macaroni cheese & pot noodle for bait

In reply to Post #11 Yeah steve briggs is very soothing, the bob ross of angling, nice variety of waters too.

In reply to Post #1 Dislike a lot of preachy big headed full timers that give their distorted view compared to what most of us mere mortals can achieve as we are not boring the fish out just because we dont have time to sit on the bank midweek for X amount of hours.
I rarely gives 2 hoots what anyone catches now because I am not lavished with the time to camp out for them.
Plus one for Baitworks or anything Mike Holly does-- inspiring.

Funny no ones has mentioned Steve Briggs.
Such a nice guy and although his videos are nothing special I like the down to earth and quiet attitude. Relaxes me so I watch it :-).
Dito with Simon Crow and Jim Lightfoot.
Funny too that no one has mentioned the many Nash videos around or Carl. Seems they are over the top now.
Carls videography is top notch which is why I am watching his films.
The worst are the German/Austrian Fox/Nash/Korda-team ones.

|
|
I enjoy the Terry Hearn ones with ESP, fantastic!
The ones I watch the most are the everyday carp anglers though, that go on a 48 hour session for example and film it, normal down to earth blokes who you can actually relate to.

In reply to Post #1 I like Matthew Collins stuff. Quite straight talking.
Simon Crow is good. Proper carper who talks sense and fishes a massive variety of venues. Arguably one of the best active anglers doing it?
|
|

In reply to Post #5 His Milton Keynes public lake one is also great.

The Korda stuff is always good for a laugh but Samir Arebi on Nash Youtube channel is next level

Honest Carpy blogs. Never fails to make me smile

In reply to Post #1 Check out the Thinking Anglers Scott Lloyd The Croc Files, best videos Ive seen in years.

In reply to Post #1 The problem with 95% of the youtube channels is the adverts I find some of them impossible to watch it's like how dare you interrupt adverts by putting something on about fishing it's getting out of hand. Steve Whitby (The Carp Catcher) put a post out saying he wouldn't interrupt one of his films once they have started playing fair play to the bloke, I did start watching and enjoying Eastcoastsurfer when he first started but now just too many adverts, Korda.ESP.Baitworks are really good no interruptions I've unsubscribed to so many this year who I've watched for numerous years, I know some will say pay for premium but it's the principle of it
So that's my youtube rant
Probably just an old tight fisted Yorkshire man

Anything containing Terry Hearn. Such a brilliant story teller, so ESP, and Sticky's channels basically.
The baitworks one is also excellent.

At present jim lightfoot carp adventures. Really enjoying that, very positive vibe even when things happen that would me set off, jim just laughs it away.
