In reply to Post #13 Thanks for taking the time Stuart. I'm erring toward Fox Flatliner X System, I like that it comes with the Ventec All Season which has the reversible inner. I'm like you re fleece, much warmer in winter when you move about in the bag, but I prefer polyester in summer. At 94cm wide its between a standard and wide so maybe a good compromise.. hmm....bit of a cost saving too v Solar Wide & Ventec bag.

In reply to Post #8 The bag fits perfectly on the wide bed. Bed is on the hard side if you sleep on your side but got a mountain equipment glacier 5.0 sim on it which fits the wide bed perfectly. I was contemplating the new wide memory foam sp bed but now not so sure.

In reply to Post #7 Its all fleece Tony, you cant turn anything round and no different season liner to take out. I think im one of the few people who like a fleece lining. Warmest bag ive ever owned by a mile. Its big but no where near as big as my first ventec bag years ago and also more compact than my gardner carp duvet plus. It fits in my cotswold carryall no problem.

Ive got the wide sp c-tec bed and the ripstop ventec xl 5 season bag and the head section dosent flop forward. Im a size 10 foot and theres plenty of room in foot section. I love the ripstop bag, best sleeping bag ive ever owned.

In reply to Post #2 Thanks for the feedback mate
Ive got the xl Ive had it about 2 years. Ive not experienced the head bit flapping over my head it fits snugly over the wide boy bed chair
Maybe the newer version is different, I know it's lighter, on mine if you fold the bag back so it sits at shoulder height it always flips back over. If you try and jam it under your chin the zips sits on your skin, and it's too thick to fold under as it creates gaps at the side.
I'm thinking of getting the Solar SP C Tech either as a system or preferably as just the bed but the choice of sleeping bags for that size bed is very limited.

In reply to Post #1 Ive got the xl Ive had it about 2 years. Ive not experienced the head bit flapping over my head it fits snugly over the wide boy bed chair. What really does piss me off is the zips come down when you move. the clips that are supposed to stop this are fixed on the top half of the bag and not on the bottom. Apart from that its ok definitely not worth the money tho

I have one of the original Fox Ventec Sleeping bags in standard, and there's a couple of things that niggle me about it and I'm considering buying one in XL, if I replace my bedchair.
If anyone has the present Fox Ventec in either size can you tell me if there's plenty of room at the foot end if you lie on your back? I've got size 11 feet and find the bottom very restrictive, probably due to the shroud,
2nd query, does the head end still automatically fold over your head all too easily even with zips down to shoulder height on both sides?
Edit, open to alternative suggestions too👍
