I have had lots of daiwa float and feeder rods since the early 80s and they have been great.
The carp rods have been a mixed bag, the whiskers in the dynaflo era were great.
the infinity spigots were prone to wear and the rod breaking just above or below the spigots.

Still seems a bit of a faff, I think I need 1-1 tuition on most things IT related
Re the older daiwa blanks ive owned carp spinning and fly rods and all had serious use/abuse over 30 years and all without issues .. just my experience

Daiwa rods have never been as good without the union jack and made in Britain logo

Weirdly, I bought the exact same rods on a whim a few weeks back, not sure why really as I tend to be a Harrison user through and through... (actually, it's because they seemed dirt cheap and a bit of a bargain). Anyway, found exactly the same issue as you have with one blank. I emailed the tackle shop I purchased them from yesterday and they are going to pick the blank up and, hopefully, replace it. First time I have had a spigot type blank like this since the mid 80's and have to be honest, it hasn't done my confidence in the rod much good. I would have hated to pay full RRP for such a rod and find this sort of issue. Have to wonder about the quality control at Diawa...

I wouldn't hesitate in taking them back to the shop you bought them from.if the spigot isn't perfect fit you're asking for trouble

I had this with a set. Used some very very fine sandpaper & checked to see if it fitted after every couple of strokes. Do it very carefully as you obviously cant put back what you have sanded off.

My mate had this with his 12ft infinities. Top sections didn't fit properly, first cast snapped the rod in half, not the only set of heard of doing this either. Another mate had a set of 13ft he snapped 2 of his, took them back and swapped for hi s ives.

Picked up a set of 12ft 3lb longbows recently.
Not had a chance to use them but was setting them up earlier, and one of the buttons sections wont take the tip section.
Seems like the spigot is too big. I tried the other tip sections on it and that particular butt section wont rake any of the tips.
Any suggestions for sorting this out. Dont really want to take them back to the shop if i can help it.
I have tried cleaning it, but its still wont go together fully, but there does seem to be a lot of carbon dust on the spigot when ive tried to get it together after cleaning it
