I’ve got a set of these. I use them with a 4.5 oz lead at about 28 wraps max and they seem fine. I’m far from an expert but just from the way they feel to me, my gut would say that 6oz at 100 yrds might be a bit of a push. I use them with braid so there’s zero give compared to mono which I think is probably a bit harsher than if you were to use mono

Hi guys,

I've just taken delivery of 3 of the said rods - 13ft 3.5's

Has anyone got a set of the same rods and can offer and advice of using them for solid bags?

I've seen on the Daiwa website that the maximum recommended casting weight is 4oz. I've got some solid bags left from a session that are 6oz.

Would these be ok to use at a distance of around 80-100yds as I don't want to overload the rods and create issues?

I can't use a leader as they're banned until the weed dies down but I wanted to use up the bags and just wondered if the 3.5's will be ok at that range with 6oz bags or if I'd be better off using them at short range. TIA

Also, has anyone who's got a set of these in 3.5 and fitted a line clip and if so, which one fits?

I've always used the cheap ones from eBay that are fitted using a runner O ring but as the blanks these are thicker they don't fit so I need to buy some new ones
