I found BW pop ups to be the worst I have ever tried. Highly rate their boilies and use them regularly but I don’t rate the pop ups

Morning all,
Just adding to the mix, in winter and spring I generally use a single SHB White S2 pop up or wafter, in addition I’ll sometimes use a stringer with 2 or 3 Baitworks Monster Red Boilies along side, before I switched to SHB BW’s Monster Red were always my go to bait, I loved their pop ups stayed buoyant forever, that said my S2’s are an awesome alternative if not an upgrade.

Singles for me = a single bait in isolation.
Generally fished in winter or spring and usually at what I perceive as fish activity.
For me:- Specialized Fizz, a homemade ting tong, or one that has saved many a blank over the years is a pink northern special

Definitely a single bait on its own.
Maybe its a long chuck and hard to get some freebies out there without creating too much disruption. Maybe there is a feature to fish up to like an island margin and its a fish holding spot.
Maybe the fish are showing in a certain area and you do to want to spook them too much.
Personally I'd prefer to chuck a bag for the added attraction wherever possible.

What do we mean by "singles?" People seem to have different interpretations of what this means. I always assumed it's a bait fished in perfect isolation, nothing around it, on its own. Yet some anglers will call fishing with a bag "singles, while others will call fishing a single bait over a bed of bait a "single bait."
Just so we're all on the same page, which is it to be. Personally I love fishing baits in perfect isolation, give 'em less choice

SHB S2's, by a fair way, for me.

Last few years I've mostly been using DNA Crayfish Mini Hooker barrels with the top 3rd replaced by part of one of their sticks, usually PB. It started after I used to use the S7 dumbells but wanted a alternative flavour to the feed bait.

Specialized HookBaits.
GBP2 or TC1 wafters being my favourite, although I'll be back to S2 variants like Fizz as the water gets colder
