Well that's a very tricky water for sure. Loads of snags as well as me and my mate found out the hard way, being with cut off once each. 1 landed (by me) out of 5 runs between 3 of us. Could've been worse considering how hard it is there. Ed the owner dropped in just as I was putting the 1 fish back. He did say they are well earned there. I highly recommend the place for 2 or 3 nights camping and maybe a bonus fish! For anyone looking to go, the stalking opportunities aren't that great outside of the designated swims, there are just too many snags. I was lead to believe otherwise from the description of the place.

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking of a bit of float bashing to be honest, maybe the lift method. I doubt they see that too often. The washing line method is a good shout as well. Hadn't thought of that but will definitely give it a go. Will let you know how it goes 👍

It's a tricky little pond, that's for sure.
The fish know that you're there, however quiet you are, and always seem to have their guard up.
They get fished for week in, week out, and 95% of the people that fish there fish it the same way.
Try to do something different would be my advice.
Have a tiptoe around with a float rod after dark or something along those lines.
Good luck!

https://freshwaterfisheries.co.uk/fisheries/doorford-pool/ all the details about the lake are here

I believe it's fairly silty not weedy, small lake so need to be quiet as possible or it will be very tricky, either use fluorocarbon and sink your line out the way or if your on mono use the washing line method if possible.

Just wondering if anyone has fished Dawford pool in Shropshire? Got a session booked there later in the month. Would really appreciate any info regards bottom type, weed, stock numbers, other species etc.
Cheers
