I mean Oz does it the opposite way round to the way you are tying it. Stuff hook end and coated braid boom. I’ve used it for years. Like a more simple hinge rig.

I do 7 up and 3 down on the chod hooklink and never had one slip out or break. Tbh it sounds like the components as opposed to the knot itself. Could always try blobbing the tag ends if you don’t already. That’ll stop the slipping through issue.

This is what I'm trying to do, will look to see if Oz has covered it, thanks

Coated braid loop holding the hook
Stripped braid hinge needs to be between 5-10mm
Fluoro boom

Are you talking braid hook end and fluoro hook length?
If so try it the other way round, works far better as rig. Oz holness did a great walk through it on a TA video, think it was an autumn vlog.

Thanks, that's a really good example and very close to what I'm trying to do, but I don't want the loop to be braid or to use tubing or 'kickers'

I'm trying to have the loop as coated braid but connect to the fluoro with the braid stripped, so it's single braid not double.

I'll whip more up and down tomorrow and give the mahin a try too👍

I had issues too with the Albright slipping. I was using Loop Braid and IQ2. I switched to Korda Boom 25lb and Arma Kord 30lb and it was no longer an issue.

Shoudn't slip - I use supernatural which isn't course and never slips.
After you done the 13 wraps up do you do a couple back down?

Maybe try the Korda Slip D braid, or 30lb Armakord. I’m a novice with the Albright, only been using it about 9 months doubled over Combi-Multi style, but never had it slip once using those braids, and that’s only 4 turns up then back through the same way.

Once bedded down properly the albright shouldn't slip, are you going back through the loop the same way you started?

with a single braid i would try 8 up and 4 back down over the top

I'm messing about with a Fluoro/braid multi rig and after several attempts, the Albright has slipped most times and the braid section has snapped a couple of times!

Confidence is lost in the knot, but I'd still like to be able to tie it properly, or is this a common fault?

Components:

25lb tint link Fluoro
20lb jackal with an unstripped figure of 8 loop one end and about 4" stripped to tie onto the Fluoro.

I'm wrapping the jackal (single line not doubled over) 13 times up the Fluoro and it looks good until I give it a proper pull then it slips about an inch so the braid section is far too long.

The times that it's snapped, it looks like the knot has slipped off the Fluoro and onto the braid.

So any thoughts as to why this is happening and is there another knot worth trying to connect Fluoro and braid?

Cheers
