I used to use an old spool of ESP leadcore / measure the optimum distance from lead 'plug' to lead clip (based on specific lead size / type - usually a flat pear) and splice the connections at both ends . . . initially I'd try and leave a small section of lead core inner intact but this does get tricky so easier to remove in totality.

Only prob with the above is its hard to be 100% consistent (splicing) if your really anal about link lengths within mm accuracy. On this basis have more recently been using a short stiff high diameter fluro boom instead with crimps at either end making life a lot easier!

Hi everyone
Just wondering if anybody makes their own COG links, and if they could share how they do it with any tips?
