In reply to Post #1 If you double up the braid (to create the loop) and are using a 'traditional' braided hair rig / slip d configuration the knot should be at the bait end / the section that loops around the back of the hook opposite the barb. This way you can simply push the loop through the boom end (it could be a fused gemini or a DIY crimped boom) and feed the hook back through the loop with your fingers which is knot free, strong and takes seconds.
You can make up loads of mini braided hooklinks and swop and change presentations / hook sizes etc as you see fit. Just ensure the hook pattern you choose has large(ish) eyes and the braid you use is not high diameter as doubling up can sometimes be difficult to feed back through the hook eye . . .
I use something similar for barbel rigs where the effective fluro 'boom' is up to 4' long - I actually use either an ESP ronnie clip (using the tungsten weight as a sleeve / weighted pivot point) or a Korum Specimen Quick Snap swivel to attach the mini braided looped hooklink as this means I can re-use them / change them quickly without having to cut them off etc

In reply to Post #4 That looks spot on nice one I can just have a few hook ends tied up.

In reply to Post #2 I did this. Tie straight to a Gemini combi ring, smallest amount of putty on the ring. Cut old off tie new one on. I stopped using Gemini booms as found they'd split at the fused part on hard battles.

In reply to Post #2 Oh yeah then I can putty round the mini ring and knot to neaten it up!
I feel like 0.75mm should go over a size 6 hook eye maybe even a size 5 I’ll just have to tinker.

In reply to Post #1 Situate then knot where it attaches to the boom.

Hi all,
I want to use Gemini tidy booms with a loop of braid where ideally I can change the hook. Been out of the game for a while so having a massive brain fart. If I create a loop of braid I will always have a knot. Now I think I can loop to loop the braid to the boom and then loop over the hook multi rig style and maybe a piece of silicone over the eye of the hook to hold the D and cover the knot?
I assume the ready made Korda loop rigs have the knot hidden under the shrink tube?
Guess I could also use shrink tube and just ready tie them, but would be nice if possible to just change the hook and still use the braid and boom.
Anyone got any experience using this and if so what hook sizes matched what silicone size.
Thank you.
