Tried them all over the years.
Settled on OMC last year, then tried Thinking Anglers, then Atomic.
Both very similar, both better.

I bought the Nash putty when my original Kryston stuff ran out. Was somewhat annoyed when it melted in the heat and stuck all over my rod handles.

Yes, I felt Shabba Rank Fart about using purchasing anything OMC to be honest, but the putty is good.

However, I think Jamie's idea of making his own is the best of the bunch below, and I will be doing the same.

Think it was mentioned it I can’t cope with Korda, constantly falls off, likely user error though

Nash is the best I’ve used. Haven’t used the OMC of which I have heard good things.

I’ve decided to give the OMC stuff a whirl. Feel a bit dirty about it tbh. Hope I don’t end up in a stupid fleece and flat cap.

Appreciate all your input. I’ll report back with my findings once it arrives.

Can vouch for the ESP Putty - super tacky, even more so when the pot has been in the sun few a few minutes lol.

I've been using the new KHM. I find it shapeable in warm conditions, but it's a challenge in the cold. Sounds like I need to give OMC a try

I like the OMC stuff as well. Previously I’d only used the cheap really sticky stuff that sticks to everything in your rod bag or rig board, but the OMC stuff is nice and malleable, stays put on your rig and hardens off in the water and becomes non sticky on the outside. Seems a lot heavier than the cheap stuff too, meaning you need less to balance pop ups etc.

I found mixing putty seems to get the best from it. I have cheap stuff, ESP & Nash all mixed up together - makes it nice & malleable but hard enough not to come off with every fish.

Don’t think you’re missing out, I’ve been using all sorts of putty and it’s all worked, I just get the cheapest now.

Much as I hate to use their gear the OMC putty is excellent - second only to the original Kryston. If you can find it the Atomic rig putty is also v good.

Tbh I haven’t done a direct comparison but I haven’t changed the size of the putty on my rigs much at all. Not noticeably to the eye anyway.

I've been using the esp putty for the past few years & have no complaints.

I need to use very little. It gets nice & tacky quickly between the fingers (insert joke here) & it sticks well.

How heavy would you say this is compared to the KHM?

Appreciate all the responses everyone

Nash one here too.

In comparison the Korda one might as well be made of PVA.

The new atomic putty is pretty good. Probably best I’ve seen since the original Kryston.

If you can get a few guys to club together LCE Tackle in France do fantastic putty. The trouble is postage to the UK makes it too expensive that's why you need to club together.

The way I did it last time I got it posted to a fishery in France we had booked.

I’ve used some awful ones and some good ones over the years. Another vote for Nash cling on.

I got the OMC putty after my Heavy metal ran out , it's not as good as the original KHM.

I only got the OMC stuff after a recommendation on here, and others saying the new Kryston stuff wasn't very good.

I’ve been using the same pot of Kryston Heavy Metal putty for years as I’m very particular about reusing whatever I can from old rigs etc. However, my once mighty blob, is mighty no more and I need to restock. It’s tricky to apply but once worked a bit is good and very weighty. Does anyone have any other suggestions before I buy another pot? I’m sure things have moved on since I bought the last lot. It does seem to be a fair bit more expensive than other brands but seeing how long the last lot lasted that’s not too much of a concern. Just wondered if I’m missing out.

Cheers
