In reply to Post #8 My bait is still made by Tony at Premier, no additives apart from CreamStim… when I spoke to him last he’s only a tiny amount left, same with Geoff at ABS apparently.
From what I gather I think it’s still produced in Switzerland? But due to restrictions etc it’s no longer viable to import it from a cost perspective.
I have a small amount to use for hookbaits etc, I’ve sourced various powders trying find a similar product, the BAF’s Milk E, CcMoores version, AA baits and Cotswolds Milk B+ and I’ve found Cotswolds to be very similar to my nose. Obviously it would be also the most expensive but eh oh.

In reply to Post #24 And you would probably need access to the bank of England's gold reserves to afford it. If they were ever able to extract enough in the first place..
In reply to Post #24 Apparently it's widely used in the cosmetic industry and has a light sweet nutty smell!
In reply to Post #24 Not sure tbh. Whether the Cotswold stuff had this in or whether it was synthetic I've no idea.

In reply to Post #23 Does it smell of Strawberry though?
Did read something once about it, horrendous to extract as the seeds are so small
In reply to Post #22 Both the seed and the leaf contain oil, so in effect there is a strawberry essential oil.
That’s why I said “oil” - but it was a strange one, it wasn’t like a concentrated flavour, but a drop was enough.
Mind you, was 30 yrs ago 🤔

In reply to Post #18 like vossy said - pretty much every bait additive has a bulk carrier & that will depend on the base of the prime ingredient.
strawberry might not have any oils in it but I am sure the esters that create the smell / flavor will have some hydroscopic tendencies & be better suited to an 'oil' type base.

In reply to Post #19 It wouldn't surprise especially in the volumes it's sold to us anglers in, there's no way it'd not be in carrier
I have some original Nash Peach Oil Palatant, it gets touched that infrequently it settles into its constituents. I'm guessing the flavour part is the small bit at the bottom, it's dark caramel versus the light straw colour of the carrier above, probably 1 in 100, or something like that.

In reply to Post #18 I bought a jar of strawberry seed oil once, there was no resemblance to strawberry aroma in it, the angling product is probably just a flavour and a carrier I would imagine.
In reply to Post #17 Didn't no there was any oil in a strawberry. I know they don't extract from the fruit. More the plant itself. Probably was a consintrated Strawberry flavour on an oil carrier base.

They did a strawberry “oil” back then, mega stuff. 1 drop per lb. Love to know what it really was.

Thanks Nobbie & Kells for clearing that up - mixed the 2 names up - my memory is not what it was - don't get Old !!!

Hi all,
From memory Cotswold baits back in the late 80's was Brian parker & Andrew jock downs, i can remember lots of articles raving about their salmon & shrimp liquid,
I did very well on their red dragon base mix if memory serves me right.
OMG just realised how long ago that was
In reply to Post #13 That was Andrew Jock Downes who had the origional biggy out on Engy. Remember seeing the pic all over there advertising at the time. Would of been around 1990..
In reply to Post #12 Was it Bryan ? Not sure - I remember whoever it was had the big Mirror out of Englefield Lagoon around 1990 - what a fish that was at the time.
In reply to Post #10 It was Brian Parker wasn't it? He wrote a few articles in the revamped Big Carp and then dissappeared
Didn't Cotswold / DT merge for a while shortly after the millennium and bring out a bait called the Mtech?
Hearn, Seller and the like moved onto it for a while

In reply to Post #10 School.. yes, definitely knows his ****..
In reply to Post #7 Saw that too.
Cotswold Baits was set up in the mid 80's by Keith Sykes along with Paul & Keith Crispin.
Sold on to the guys in Reading (Andy Parker, I think ?) about 1990.
Loved their Ethnic mix during the winter with added black pepper oil, and a friend had great results on their Metabait.
Looks like its early days on the re-vamp ...
Hoping your last comment is a typo Kells, unless Keith knows something we don't - he certainly knows his **** !!!

In reply to Post #7 Blimey -never knew that. Milk B was the one wasnt it?
AA baits do milk E
In reply to Post #2 I still have a nearly full tub of Premier Cream Stim powder.
From memory, they market it as an excellent additive to base mixes which might otherwise take on foul odours from the lakebed in silty lakes. It’s probably marketed by several different companies under different names?
Would of thought Geoff Bowers has it available and might be able to purchase some from him though Active Bait Solutions?

In reply to Post #6 Yes, noticed Cotswold baits were back on the scene. And looking at there website it looks like Dr Kieth Sykes the origional owner is back involved. Few little old stool products looks interesting.

In reply to Post #5 They have got a new website , not a lot on there but more products coming soon

Cheers for the suggestions. Cotswold baits that’s a blast from the past, I thought they were long gone!

In reply to Post #1 I'm not sure what creamstim is as not used it but have a look at Baitworks who offer a creamer compound, which is a powder to coat your baits. Just got some delivered on their Black Friday sale to try out alongside their Creamino boilies this winter
