In reply to Post #17 Admittedly I haven’t fished there for over 20 years, but it was never as bad as people are making out. It’s leafy Hampshire. The worst thing was the stink of chicken sh*t from the farm next door, not sure if that’s still there.
Some people aren’t used to fishing lakes with public access. Be sensible with your gear and you’ll be fine. If you’re scared of the public fish a lake with a nice big fence and gate.

In reply to Post #16 We’ve just been for a bbq all 22 swims vacated with all our gear left in the swims, 3 hours later we’ve all returned to our swims with nothing missing.
I’m not saying things may not have been stolen in the past (I’m not saying they have either as I don’t know), but people love to jump on a band wagon and put things off on with no first hand knowledge, some I’m putting some first hand knowledge on to give another perspective on the venue, so hopefully the original poster to make a informed choice (he may well still not want to fish here)

In reply to Post #15 Don't think the dog walkers were the problem. More the little thieves helping themselves to people's gear.

In reply to Post #1 Don’t believe what others are saying….. I’m here now with 21 others on a social for 72 hours, the place is immaculate and every dog walker that has past has been polite.
It’s a stunning looking lake and hopefully a few of the big girls grace some of our nets 🤞🏻

In reply to Post #13 Not helpful but 15 years ago it was an absolute gem of a water. Used to do day sessions in between guard shifts

In reply to Post #1 Do not bother

In reply to Post #11 How Idyllic. Thanks for saving me from 2 days of horror!

Should be called ***** Valley after the piles of human waste in the bushes and path sides. I did one trip and one trip only.

In reply to Post #9 Definitely gonna swerve it!

In reply to Post #1 Joke of a place run by a greedy owner. Small lake like that with loads of members under the guise of summer tickets, winter tickets and mid week tickets, then you add day tickets and then you have the full syndicate tickets on top (£1275 a pop). Greed...
Used to be a cracking place years ago - and yep, it's a public path all the way around. Keep an eye on your gear and motor.

In reply to Post #7 I'll swerve it then.

In reply to Post #6 Yep don’t leave anything in swim, Penning found that out when they nicked his alarms.

Do the public have access to walk around the lake? Was looking at doing a weekend here but heard that some of the local herberts have been known to walk around the path and help themselves to anglers gear?

In reply to Post #4 Far from easy, those fish have seen it all, though some do slip up, they will get away with it without you knowing about it.

In reply to Post #3 I don't think it's an easy venue to be honest, I just got lucky.
My mate blanked and most people I spoke to hadn't caught.
Only 2 swims free...damn :(
Weds is the new Friday...you're lucky to get a decent swim on popular lakes nowadays unless you go mid week

In reply to Post #1 I’ve only just seen your post! Thanks! I rocked up on the Friday and there were two swims available from 32! Absolutely rammed due in part to it being the last weekend before the winter ticket starts. It switched the place off. Lovely venue though and clearly a great stock so I’d like to fish it again.

In reply to Post #1 I watched this last night, might give you some pointers.
LINKY POO™ https://youtu.be/uBOAjrDmqLs?si=LD71tSw0U58kYSqT
Funny thing is, Kev and Leon walked around the lake whilst I was packing up.
Kev dropped in to my swim after I left.
I told him to fish down the right margin. I had 3 fish from there including Tyson @43lb+
All those bubblers at 11 wraps was fish on my bait
Not able to give you many pointers on the lake as that was my first visit but hopefully there will be others on here that fish it and they can chip in
Best of luck mate
