100%

So my original order turned up with the replament.
It had been opened, and the alarms ripped from the packaging and one missing.
I think the driver stole them, then when dx were looking into it put pressure on him, then another parcel comes in going to the same address and he's felt that's his chance to make it right.

The shipping label was ripped off the box and AD had wrote "delkim set" on the box.
I sent them back to ad in the state they came to me minus the missing alarm. They need to not use DX, there's clearly some shady practices going on and when I raised this to AD they said they cannot see the driver steeling then as they won't get paid... I told them they had sent a £500 alarm set with it wrote on the box and I'm pretty sure that's worth more to the driver than not being paid one delevery as its "gone missing"

How did you pay? Report it to your card company/bank and let them get the money back.

I had similar, ordered some bait from AD. DX lied about attempting to deliver it (I have a ring doorbell, they did not show up when stated and they did not leave a calling card as they stated) and it ended up lost in the DX hub. AD eventually called them while I was on hold and it was eventually found and delivered, it was totally battered.

AD parcels are usually clearly visible as angling direct, and I firmly believe that there are lads on the rob at DX.

I'd just keep on at them mate, they do seem to sort stuff out eventually though I know you shouldn't have to. I'd be paying your local RM sorting office a visit with the tracking number and asking for the geo coordinates of the pic, if it still exists.

Having similar with angling direct at the moment. Made an order, for some reason came in 2 deliveries. One which took nearly a week and was way to late, i just refused. But had a 2 hour round trip to an alternative shop so i had it for my trip that weekend.
The other parcel, shown as delivered, with a photo not even showing the address, just some non descript floor, and the end of another letter, also with no address showing, but not to my delivery address.
Angling direct are refusing to refund me saying is delivered. Its a £21 item so not the end of the world. But not the point. Their customer service has been *****. No one even pretends to care. If they bother to reply at all, their responses are short and abrupt and have have ignored over half of what ive raised. Theyve basically said tough, its shown delivered, so thats it. Im jot even sure theyve raised it with royal mail.
I will not use them again, id rather drive an hour each way to johnson ross and pay a bit more. Im half tempted to start a face book page for complaints about them seeing as there is no review section online anywhere, they seem to be quite unaccountable

I have just had 3 txis and receiver stolen by DX.
Angling direct have been good and sent more out, it arrived at the DX warehouse and was never seen again-even tho the driver is claiming he delevered it.

Think he's gonna be in abit of trouble

Yes infact the photograph is evidence for you in a court not the courier or the seller.

I agree it is rubbish but as I said an item is only delivered if put in your hands.Photographs of parcels on the floor, left outside is not delivered. If you choose a safe place then you are accepting full responsibility if the item goes missing

But both the seller and eBay will have it marked as "delivered" with photographic "proof".....then it is your word against theirs that you haven't actually got it.....................would eBay refund under those circumstances....I doubt it and even if they did would Royal Mail pay out a claim to the seller, again I doubt it!

RM "Tracked" covers up to £150 so there will be those dishonest buyers who claim it was never received to try and get their refund!!

system is rubbish to be fair!

It is their responsibility if it goes missing but you contact the seller not the courier

Understand that but what about the Royal Mail "Tracked" service that many, (including eBay) now use? That don't require a signature.....just a photo.

I have had to track some items as a buyer and a seller on eBay recently and some of the photos they take are laughable, no chance of identifying anything from them!

A parcel left on a doorstep is not by law delivered. It's still the responsibility of the sender. They have no right to make you wait for a refund either.

I do agency driving and most of the companies I drive for do not allow you to leave goods anywhere.

No signature you take the goods back. I had a customer telling me he did not have to sign so I picked his stuff up and took it back with me. He phoned in and the owner told him I was right.

Only classed as delivered if the goods are put in your hands, the retailer has to issue replacement or refund if not. That is the law and the retailer is responsible unless you have stated a safe place for it to be left

Problem with a lot of couriers is, (even with Royal Mail now) they class a parcel as "delivered" if they take a photo of it at your front door.

I've had parcels left where the courier hasn't even rang the bell, just dumped it on my doorstep, took a photo and hopped back in his van.

If someone then nicks the parcel you are screwed. The retailer will say it was delivered as will the courier.

I had a £500 parcel left at my front door that was actually on the footpath. I've got home as had only popped out for 10 mins with the old lady from down the road stood by it. She would have taken it in but could not lift it.

That was from johnson Ross so I called them and told them never to use that courier and always use parcel pat. He delivered to our shop as well so if no one was home he would take it to the shop.

We've just found a parcel that was delivered in March. Courier had put it over the back fence and was hidden between the fence and hedge. But they had not left a card so we didn't know.

The whole parcel delivery has gone t1ts up since covid and needs sorting out.

But it would help people if someone that knows the laws about it could do a topic that could be made a sticky for people's reference in the future.

Seems most go to the courier but should be going straight to the retailer.

Your contract is with AD.

Who AD choose to use as a courier service is upto them.

DX are a nightmare delivery service. It will no doubted be them have been them who lost it.

However as said you need to go through the company you bought off.

How did you pay?

Unfortunately it’s under the 100£ section 75 limit for a credit card.
you could potentially ask your bank to do a “charge back.”

PayPal
you would need to open a claim and fingers crossed because they can be just as bad.

Your contract is with angling direct not DX
It is down to them to find out where your order is not for you to chase it.

Citizens advice is the next step
Or go to watchdog or whatever the latest incarnation of it is.

May be off help

I try and use folk like Bristol Angling when I can, but AD are like Amazon, sometimes ya just got to!

I had a couple of things go missing over the summer and they've been slow, they do always seem to sort stuff out though.

This is their email mate for anything else: support@anglingdirect.co.uk

so Angling Direct have essentially paid for DX to handle the logistics of your goods.

Therefore, the onus of making good on the delivery lies with Angling Direct, that is who you need to make a fuss with, they can then deal with their "Operational" issues which is what this is.

If you don't get through to their "Online" office, call your closest branch and start off the call in a polite manner. In my experience, this has helped me in several situations
