I did 2 nights on the Trakker and sold it straight away. Bought it on a whim at one of the shows as it looked and felt an awesome bit of kit. However in reality for me it was just awful, here’s why……
Hated the Oval shape, yes it gives you a bit more space in your bivvy but I felt really restricted inside.
The memory foam wasn’t as comfortable as I expected and it sagged in the middle straight from the off, this will only get worse over time.
The pillow that you really need to use with it being oval was useless as well.
The only thing I really liked about this was the bag, this was extremely warm and very well made.

Now the Solar memory foam sleep system on the other hand is an incredible bit of kit.
This has been extremely well thought out and put together. It’s a bit heavier than most of the other systems but you’ll see why as it just screams quality.
The bag system on this is now light years ahead of the one they used on the original system, this is now a proper 5 season bag and can’t see you ever being cold in this.
The bed itself is extremely comfortable, so much so I’ve never slept so well whilst being on the bank!!

Try and go somewhere to see them side by side, I’ve no doubt most will choose the Solar all day long.

Hi guys,

I am thinking about upgrading my current Trakker RLS bedchair to either one of these bedchairs/sleep systems. I saw someone write a few cons of the Solar underneath a YouTube video of the Solar, he wrote:

-mud feet are smaller and more brittle material on the Solar compared to Trakker
-solar tension strap is thinner and worse buckle on the Solar than Trakker
-stitching and cut of the fabric is bad

Things I don't personally like about the Trakker:
- oval bedchair: I worry about it being too restrictive in movement
-only as a sleep system (as I bought a new trakker 365 sleeping bag)

Could I ask your opinions about both systems? What would you buy/use and have you used/seen both?
