If it was me, I'd try a deeper mesh first bud and a clip on the handle so it moves through the water easier.

I was going to say a similar thing, big grassies, big river commons, the bigger the net the better. I suppose in this day and age where the trend is shifting to keeping Carp in nets with covers etc for longer than they used to be, more room can only be a good thing, though you might notice more drag moving it in the water, if that's a issue for you.

I upgraded to a 46 inch Korda Springbow last year as the lake where I am fishing has lots of big grass carp (up to 25+ kg), and I really struggled with my old 42 inch net ... it was just too small. Handling wise the Springbow is amazing, I can only recommend it.

My 42lb common PB is landed with a 36" Chris Brown stalker net. If I don't have the ambition to catch 60lb+ carp on any lake I fish in the nearby future, the 42" would suit most of my fishing.

Hello guys,

I have been looking to buy a second hand Korda Spring Bow landing net with a shallow net. I always used a 42 landing net, but with this investment I may be upgrading to 46 inch.

I know a landing net size obviously depends on fish size, but I want to be 'future proof' and wanted to know what you guys use as reference.

So, would you buy 42 or 46 inches?
