So much of the Facebook 'moderation' is automated so mentioning a rifle scope will flag up as firearms. Saying run them over is also an auto trigger...
Lots of crap to wade through, you just have to be a bit savvy on how to navigate.
Wrt looking for cars, you can use the filter to better tune your search, but it's not ideal.

Facebook is getting awful as far as looking after what is posted , I have been looking for a car for a family member and almost all cars for sale are cons, send a deposit and we will get the car released for you to view yeah right , and on my normal feed Angling direct sale sponsored ad 95% off everything also the same with Go outdoors, Now I'm not stupid so can see they are a scam but the real annoying thing is genuine sales are getting lost within the crap,I contacted Facebook and they do nothing yet when I posted a comment on a post about people blocking the roads (run them over)was my comment I gota 2 week ban or when I posted a rifle scope I got a lifetime ban as they said I was selling firearms and yet they can let people get conned out of their hard earned cash and they don't seem to give a damn
I appealed against my ban 6 months later and after many emails they reinstated my marketplace permission
