In reply to Post #72 Yes, they are a sponsor.
There have been quite a few posts in the last couple days onto any threads that they thought might be helpful.
I've mentioned to them that too many posts can be a bit overwhelming ... so we've removed a few and will try to post into just their own thread(s) going forward
Thanks

In reply to Post #56 Just get a Nash Trax Power Metro/Evo - more than adequate for typical UK fishing; swopping out the lead acid for LifeP04 batteries also significantly increases available power and performance . . .
Just read a Trustpilot review - looks like they have dissapeared from their premises and vanished. Not sure if true.
Loads of people still waiting for there gear from months back.
Something isn't right here

In reply to Post #57 OMG Just this moaning had my bcuk convention kit arrived order it back in January 2024 I should have got it back I April. They offer me to get a lithium battery for the price of £50 I past
If someone is thinking of do this get ready for a long wait.
In reply to Post #55 Just saying, they could buy lithium batts anywhere, it's hard to buy a good reputation.
If that was my business I'd have taken the hit and sourced them elsewhere not leave my customers like that!

What company would people say is a better option for a conversion kit . ?
My mate has had his conversion delivered this week, ordered in November 2023. Apparently it was down to the lithium batteries they were waiting on....
In reply to Post #53 Just like me waiting for handles, them not even being made, only for a Ebay listing saying x number available. I ordered them based on the previous Ebay listing saying they were in stock.
I wonder how many people are in the same situation...hmm
Not great that people are waiting and at the same time Mitch Plowman is advertising that he has 4 ex display set ups for sale on the 6the June
As previously said get into your bank PayPal etc and get your money back
Why are people still ordering from this outfit??
God help anyone who actually has an issue after sale, can’t see them ever putting anything right.
My mate ordered in November and still hasn't received. They told him they dispatched it 4 weeks ago but still nothing and now they wont respond to his calls or emails.
In reply to Post #48 What a joke - have you paid for stuff through them mate.
Spoke to a few guys on the Syndicate earlier in the week, they are both now waiting 19 weeks for their stuff. No correspondence from the firm, no updates when they will receive their kit. Both are requesting a refund and going with one of the mainstream (Fox, Nash) barrows.
I've just called BCUK about 10 minutes ago. And have put their phone onto voice mail only or email. Like i said when i receive my conversion kit i will never buy from them again

In reply to Post #45 Shame if you don't use FB!
If a company I was buying off mentioned on their order page to keep a eye on FB as the only means of comms I wouldn't place the order.
In reply to Post #44 Ordered one in December and received in May , was aware of the long wait time as I ordered it, agree about the comms they could keep you in the loop a bit more but they do put updates on Facebook. More than happy with the end product tho, it’s a cracking bit of kit
In reply to Post #42 Two of my mates have been waiting an eternity, with no Comms.
I want to upgrade myself, but reading all the horror stories won’t touch them with a barge pole. Don’t know who else to go with though.
In reply to Post #42 Ive a pal been waiting for ages apparently he spoke to them today and have said theyve no 12ah batteries in - said he can wait or take a 7ah and £50 back
he said ive waited long enough just get me my barrow and so fingers crossed it should arrive soon
Nothing but horror stories

In reply to Post #39 Feel sorry for you mate after parting with your hard earned, i know a few guys in the same boat that have been waiting for months and months. Getting called keyboard warriors because they have sent umpteen e-mails asking where their gear is (that they have paid upfront for) and demanding an update which is never replied to apart from insults.
The company is a joke run by a mug that is a complete bull**** merchant. Absolute piss take that anglers have paid money, been lied to on waiting times and zero replies when asking if your kit will be here in the next decade.
My advice would be to try and get a refund and go with another firm.

In reply to Post #39 They were updating on FB earlier in the year But it seems their lead times are Still very Long

In reply to Post #39 I would say what's their excuse this time, but you'll probably never find out as they won't contact you
Sorry, couldn't resist, feel for you and those being treated like this :-(
Wierd thing for me pre sale comms were very good, guess it's the old saying, once they've got your money.

I wish I have read the reviews of Bcuk before I placed an order for one of there barrow conversion kits. I'm 18 weeks in now with no contract for them but I have ring them on a number of occasions and I've just send them an email.
And when I receive it I will never buy from them again.

In reply to Post #33 Not really bothered with rear wheels just see Nash cheaper model with them for 40 extra. I have Nash trax micro mk1 so conversion from either company is 430 using my own battery or 570 for a whole new Nash power porter.
Both these company's are a joke
In reply to Post #33 i bought the 360 rear swivel kit from barrow buddies, they are very good ,ive got a mk7 power porter. works a treat.

I recently got the GAP conversion for my triporter. They said there was a delay of up to 8 weeks on delivery but it turned up after only 2. Really pleased with the conversion and very easy to fit. I know GAP are more expensive than other companies but do you really want to wait 3-4 months for something?
In reply to Post #32 I think the nash wheels are lower rated power wise so won't give as good performance.
I didn't fancy the BCUK wait times and started a conversation with Global which they then went radio silence on.... Decided with a black Friday voucher to go down the Alibaba import route to convert my Fox Explorer, not quite up and running yet but when finished I'll have a superior set up for less money with the added bonus that with some understanding of how it works I should be able to troubleshoot and fix any issues down the line. I would encourage anyone to look into it via the FB group, depending on which barrow you have (if the forks need adjusting) it really is pretty straightforward
Also, if it is rear wheels you are interested in, look up barrow buddies on FB.... not gone down this route myself but looks like a decent option

In reply to Post #31 Is long wait for BCUK Barrows or the self fit kits also ?
Looking to buy the self fit kits for my existing barriw or am better buying the cheapest Nash power porter which I have seen 570 with the rear wheels compared to self fit for 419 and use my own lithium battery?

In reply to Post #30 In the interest of fairness...GAP just called and my refund is being processed.
Still not massively impressed but no harm done.

So as mentioned I had experienced the same, loads of correspondence up until the point I made payment then it all stopped. Anyway I got a email last night saying that my item had been dispatched with a tracking number and it arrived today. Had a very quick look and must say seems great on firsts impressions although I'm missing a screen protector from the upgrade kit but otherwise it's spot on! Just wish I'd had a response when needed! My friend is also interested in converting his Barrow but if they don't answer the phone when he rings he won't bother! I did ring and left voicemail but no response!
In reply to Post #28 Just my honest experience.
Complete silence since the money was taken on 6th Oct and no response to any of my attempts to contact them.
Man down or not, they could answer the phone/reply to an email.
In reply to Post #26 if thats true ?
its very strange as he did post they are a man down and when you phone leave a message and all calls will be returned
AND !!! on Oct 17 James Cain got his Global Angling kit delivered and then realised the barrow he had for the past 10 years was a Mk4 with a wide wheel and NOT a fat boy realising he had messed up and bought the wrong kit
he phoned Global explained his mistake they said they would pickup the wrong one and deliver the right one this was done a few days later WITH NO CHARGE !!!
if you go to the Carp Fishing Barrow Conversions and Conversion Insight facebook page
and scroll down far enough you will read the details
or do a search for his name

In reply to Post #26 It's not good, is it. Thats both firms for me now, maybe a victim of there own success, a good and bad thing, I can think of others, so they're not alone.
Doesn't help us tho!
In reply to Post #25 Ive heard nothing since 6th Oct, and have tried many times to contact them.
I will buy something else.
I sent a e-mail to GAP, it wasn't replied to for over a week. I then called, got straight through, pleasant chap answered my questions but his answers threw another question I hadn't asked.
I rang back next day and left a message, think that was over a week ago too now.
On the website it did say they're a member of staff down and responding to queries may take some time.
In reply to Post #23 I placed an order on 6th October with GAP - website said in stock, 7 days lead time.
Since the payment was taken and the order confirmed I have had no further updates or responses.
Emails are not replied to, phone is not answered.
Just cancelled the payment on my credit card and the bank said they will recover it from the retailer.
Very poor service from GAP I'm afraid.
In reply to Post #21 I did struggle to get in touch with them but think might just be busy. I ordered the wrong wheel for my barrow, and they got it collected and the correct wheel sent out free of charge!
Original delivery time was a week after my order!
In reply to Post #14 Gotta agree with Gerry
Global are the best overall especially for service levels and turnaround times in general.

Has anyone had issues with GAP? Up to placing the order as mentioned I had several lengthy emails out of hours. Since placing the order I've had no response and I can't get anyone to answer on the phone? I was told the conversion kit should be no longer than a week due to everything being in stock but it's now been two weeks!
In reply to Post #19 I've discussed this with him but decided again them as the plastic ones are 100% waterproof.
In reply to Post #18 phone him and ask him to fit the heavy duty metal connectors
In reply to Post #17 I've been in talks with Matthew from GAP and he said the same thing, I've ordered a kit from GAP as they have stock should be with me in a week.
Thanks for the advice 👍🏻

In reply to Post #11 The wheels are different, if you strip them apart you’ll notice that the ring gear in the black motors is plastic, and the ones used in the GAP kits are metal. That’s why they’re cheaper
In reply to Post #14 Gerry I wasn't being sarcastic! I was merely asking a question....sorry I thought that was the point of a Forum!
In reply to Post #11 Don't you work for Global? Or have some association?
no of course not as well you know you sarcastic nob
I just believe in being fair and honest with anything I recommend I have always said all THREE company's make good barrows and not a lot of difference between them except aftersales and delivery times and yes I always prefer Global as they have been making the kits for well over 10 years and have no need to advertise here there and everywhere and take orders they cant meet in a decent time frame

In reply to Post #1 Experience, but not on purchase yet.
In August I e-mailed after hours and a lady got back to me almost instantly. She replied quickly over the next couple of days to all but the last e-mail where I asked if someone had had a chance to look at the previous e-mail. In one of the e-mails she asked for my number so someone could call me, they never did.
I called 3 times over the next week, no answer.
This Monday I called again, number invalid, try this number. Called and got straight through. The chap was very helpful, explained the items were available for immediate dispatch, but weren't on the site yet. That's where I'm up to, probably give you some idea re comms

My BCUK wheel was all black. When I bought my Barrow which was a while ago
Aesthetically it looked different to the global at the time. I don’t no if the motors etc are the same,I was told the motors were assembled in house,I’m assuming the components were from China.
If I bought another kit in the future personally I’d go global but that’s just from my experience.

In reply to Post #10 I'll see if I can find out, the Global one in the pictures/video's seems to be like a chrome finished alloy wheel where are the BCUK is a solid black wheel ?
Don't you work for Global? Or have some association?
In reply to Post #9 I heard they use the same wheel
In reply to Post #5 The only thing putting me off the Global kit is the bling wheel?
In reply to Post #7 How many weeks overdue was it when it arrived ?
In reply to Post #5 19 weeks but I believe its quicker now they have moved premises and gained more staff, drop them a call they've always been helpful.
In reply to Post #1 I appreciate there is a fan club for Global barrow conversions but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with BCUK?
Well apparently they are pretty much the same barrows
I hear they both use the same motorised wheel
BUT the connectors on the BCUK are more heavy duty metal ones
its not on Global`s website but when you order you just request the metal heavy duty ones I have the standard slimline plastic ones and happy with them
How long did you guys have to wait for delivery ?
In reply to Post #1 I waited ages for mine. I brought it at the big One carp show beginning of march. i finally got it in august. The main problem was you couldnt get hold of anyone. I was told a 6-8 week lead time at the time of purchasing.
I think many have been through this. Although they now give regular updates on facebook.
I was really pleased with mine and im glad i waited.
I’ve had in order since may. I’m just in the process of cancelling it and it’s due within a week or so. Welcome to take over my order.
Drop me a pm if interested in. Skipping months of wait time haha
Yes still a longer wait time than Global but i think there more transparent now about it on Facebook with regular updates.
I've also seen you can pay Klarna so split it over 3 months.

I appreciate there is a fan club for Global barrow conversions but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with BCUK? I know that they had a long wait time but is that still the case?
