fox angled run beads, great bit of kit easy to change lead size or remove for transportation
see here
thats all I use and change length of hooklink depending on bottom, plus the extra distance (as in the distance between the clip eye and bottom of lead) also helps if its silty etc

Google "Keith Moores Running Rig" or search on this forum - he uses the Enterprise plastic rings, c-clips and silicon sleeves to do just what you're after.

The rubber on the ring thing pulls back to expose a metal loop to attach the lead if i see that correct? Tx!

Korum bolt and run. Can use running, can use with a bolt effect, can easily change lead. Use them on the rivers and work great

Thanks all for the suggestions, the nash thingy of the past looks nice as does the q ring as an idea (apart from it grabbing the line), but something like that could work. Combining everything i see cutting of the swivel and then slide a nash thingy over the eye, insert peg as close as it gets. Cheers!

Gardner do a Q ring -cut off the swivel , use this in place of swivel. Slide the lead off the Q ring. Might be some others out there?

Why not mount the lead on a lead clip and use a slightly smaller swivel so it can just be a running lead. Easy to remove the lead for packing up or if changing lead size.

I still have a few of those Nash run rings in my tackle box. At the moment I prefer the Gardner Target Run Rings. The lead is secured by a crook and covered with a sleeve, which can be moved to release the lead when you want to. It has worked fine for me so far.

When I used to fish for catfish with a running rig, I used a Nash gizmo that was basically a plastic run ring, but with a cavity underneath it for the lead swivel. You'd then secure the eye of the swivel by sticking a plastic pin through it. So, to look at, it just looked like a lead weight hanging off a plastic run ring - the swivel was not visible. So, no need to cut the line to remove the lead. Unfortunately, can't remember what they were called and they are now discontinued.
Must be something equivalent on the market today would have thought?

Physics won't help when the material is worn though. Plus it would need to be an insert as lead itself is a fairly soft material and wouldn't take a thread well at all .which is another point of possible failure. Not sure on your reasoning for not wanting to use a little clip, but if you're ok with just cutting your line to replace each time then fair enough

Metal housing in the lead with grooves to grab the swivel, that would be it, would last ages and with big chucks it would grab harder, because physics.
Anyways, i'd rather keep cutting my line instead of adding super handy extra swivels, plastics and what have you.

Years ago fox had a lead that you could change styles and sizes simply by pushing it off

Sounds like a recipe for disaster Tbh, constant changing of lead size, wear on the quick connection part, big cast, connection fails, lead embedded somewhere it shouldn't be. Potentially dangerous. Surely a clip is fine.

Striving for absolute minimalism and with all the new run rig kits popping up i was thinking come on, they are only adding stuff. The new fox kit seems well thought out, but bulky, the nash one i just don't know what to make of that only that it's also bulky.
Ahwell, rambling again, just thought a removable lead would be a very nice touch

Use a quick change clip in between the lead and the running swivel. Cover in silicone sleeve to avoid tangles.

As per the title, does anyone know there are (pear) leads with a removable (big eye) swivel?
Simplest of setups, just a running rig, line through big eye, but then you want to change weight or pack up, so you need to cut your line. No biggie, but how nice would it be if the lead has a little insert for the swivel, you twist and off comes the lead. Anyone know if something so elegant exists?
