I have watched some videos about the TA one, but am I correct I the fact that this sling can't be used to release a fish on a higher bank where you normally spread both arms to 'open up' the sling to let the fish swim off by itself while still supporting the fish with the taught fabric?

The TA one only has one arm, which has a lot of advantages, but this specific fact is something I would miss in this design.

I much prefer a soft weigh sling like this.
I have one of these wychwood ones as my spare, and my regular one is an original Nash one, black with the silver triangle loops.

The convenience of laying a soft sling on a fish and then rolling the fish into it so it's now wrapped up, it helps keep it dark and quiet while being unhooked a quick weigh and then it's easy least to lower the fish into the water and hold it there for a minute and then release one side and slowly roll it out.
Much less faff than with rigid arms.

Can anyone recommend a standard weigh sling, as in not a floating retention type sling?
