You can get the net for £200 if you look. The mesh was £30 delivered. Still cheaper than my Solar P1 which now sits on a bank as a spare

Not a flaw for alot of people,it's superb on the lake I'm on.I can push the handle into the bank and rest the fish in the margin with no chance of it jumping out

I received my replacement shallow mesh this morning. Much better size in line with a normal net. Needless to say the deep mesh will go in the bin

Quite clever isn't it, selling something that is basically excellent, but with one easily remedied flaw and then selling the remedy separately?

The shallow mesh is the perfect depth at 37 inches. The net it came with was stupidly deep.

I once had an ultracult reverse taper handle I think it even had a staiinless pointy bit on the end in the early 90’s coupled with north western arms net and spreader block it was a joy to use
Until I trod on the handle

Net and arms and spreader block are still perfect and in the shed.

i own both, I prefer the dymag, I was going to sell but I'm keeping it now, the deep mesh makes the korda net more of a task than the dymag when netting fish...the shallow mesh may solve that with the korda net.

You are right Stuart. I see people rating Dymag above anything else, but my Dymag Mk2 net was definitely less stiff that the Korda Spring Bow net. I sold my Dymag because of that and waiting for a Korda net to come up second hand.

Surely the answer to a bendy net is to just buy a coarser mesh?

The dymag handles are definitely not pencil thin, there more or less the same diameter as my korda net at the block end. The thicker handle is much nicer to hold than a super thin one. My hi s net was horrible to hold due to the handle being so thin.

Ah fair play would be difficult to match the dymags, only problem with it is when you fish places that make you use their nets won't even let you use the pole. Right pain in the backside, just makes me realise how good my dymag is compared to pretty much everything else

Still if the Korda net is anywhere near the dymags stiffness (think it would struggle to be as light as the dymags) It'll still be better than most other nets you can buy

I own the korda net and a mk3 dymag. the korda handle is reverse taper but alot thicker, its more like a fishing pole section, unlike the dymag one which is pencil thin and more like a rod blank

I have a dymag net and it was more expensive than the Korda one. I'd gone through 3 nets before the dymag and they were all bendy and heavy in the water. Can tell you now the dymag was worth every penny and I was sceptical before hand but its brilliant.

Dymags aren't made anymore and pretty much every other net on sale doesn't have the reverse taper on the pole which is part of why the dymag is so good

Kordas net has the reverse taper and if its anywhere near as good as the dymag then it's worth the money. The stiffness the lightness makes everything so much easier.

I just got an e mail from the Tacklebox, Korda have brought out a Shallow net for the new landing net, 37" depth. Now they just need a handle with a 3ft extension. Time will tell.

I hope they start selling as separates I'd be tempted, not sure they won't, can't see them missing a sales opportunity and spares will be needed. I love how easy it seems to assemble the arms remind me of my old North Western. It looks that easy it kind of makes QR blocks look redundant. My only concerns are,

I'd like to have seen a stainless sheath on the arm where it goes in the block as that's where they always wear, but I guess ali won't like ss too much, rounded tip to the SS would have sorted that. Would negate the grit issue below too. Could be Ti to save weight.

What they use as a selling point, the cut outs in the block arm receivers. When in a sandy/gritty swim I use my hands to rub grit off the arms before putting them back in the block. The cut out design is asking for grit in the block, and yes a quick dip in the lake would sort it.

I too would buy shallower net and I only like long handles now, hence separates.

Making nets float, I wish manufacturers would start filling the poles with foam or styrene. Weighs next to nothing and even when you crack the outer pole it'll still float. Suppose they could put it in the net arms too.

EDIT, can someone who has 1 kindly measure how much length of arm goes in the spreader block please?

My net (Nash) really bends when netting a fish which makes it slow in the water, its ok but when using a my mates net you really notice the difference. His old net (fox) flexed so much it would fall apart when netting a fish..

I don’t get it when people say about nets bending when netting a fish and that justifying them being expensive. I’ve had a few nets not really brought any expensive ones and never had them bending when netting a fish. So don’t get why people say they buy an expensive one that doesn’t bend. That being said i do like the look of the korda and would be tempered if they did a 2 piece handle, as i use scopes now and need one that goes on the side of the rod holdall.

I’ve only ever bought cheap nets, I’ve a pair of 30 plus nets with a lovely deep mesh and a cheapish fox one that’s a few years old along with some other rubbish. I used my mates fox x3 net the other day and couldn’t believe how light and stiff it was, these are only about 80 quid. The Korda net must be something special at its price point

I think the extra money is justified. I had a friend who use budget nets and there crap as ive used them to net there fish. Buy cheap buy twice or even thrice so works out the same in the end.

I dont think the korda net is expensive. Its actually cheaper than the other top end ends and much better so not really expensive when you compare it to other high end nets.

Buy a Chris Brown Carbon net. Anything more expensive is overpriced. It's a net to land big fish. If you need a bigger net than 42" you are, A, a lucky man, or B ,rich enough to fish in France on waters that contain massive fish .
As an aside; does anyone know which net Kevin Ellis uses?

don't pay over 200, plenty of deals to be done....give hull angling a ring they'll do it for 200 posted...

the same can be said for anything in fishing, top end rods, reels etc etc....if you're the kind of guy that would buy 2 x 50 quid nets then you're not the type of person that would buy a too end net regardless of which brand it is....there's nothing wrong with your views, I wouldn't buy a top end reel as im happy with the reels I've got....thats my view on reels...nothing wrong with it....you pay your money,ya takes ya chance

No you're not, rather have a net that when I lift it to net a fish it lifts up and not flops around like an 80 year olds cock.I didn't pay 230 for mine i paid less and compared to the dymag that's a bargain,im very happy with it and so is my mate with his

I don’t have one but I have briefly used one to net a fish for someone and they are great plus lovely deep mesh you get what you pay for at the end of the day I have always bought cheaper nets and have had a couple handles go so buy cheap and have to replace regularly or buy expensive and have it last? No brainer to me

They are a minimum of £230 from what I have seen and when you can get a net for £50 that is very good. Does it really justify the £180 extra?

Definitely not.........

You are better off buying 2 x £50 nets and save yourself £130.

Still a lot of money for a net regardless of how well made it is.

I know the same thing can be said for a lot of things but I can't bring myself to pay that for a net either to be honest.

What a strange comment

If it's good enough for you to want one, maybe it isnt overpriced? You just don't want it enough. It isn't a reflection on an item's value for money though is it?

On a side note, in comparison to other top end nets, it isn't overpriced at all imo
