In reply to Post #1152 I think it was the final straw
As a representative of the BBC he should not be commentating on Gaza and other political stuff all the time. The BBC is 'supposed' to be impartial
Ok let's give him the benefit of doubt and say he is being honest, it was a genuine mistake.
But the fact is the mistake was made because he couldn't keep his gob shut.
Still once he's gone he can say what he likes.

In reply to Post #1149 Good find that , clears up my question about a goalie going up for a corner.
As for a goalkeeper accidentally slipping/stumbling, then as he had the ball in his hands inside the box then in my opinion this rule should apply and no more.
'A handball outside the penalty area is always penalized with a direct free kick'
In the Henderson case if there were no VAR then the handball would've not been noticed
But there was VAR so it's subjective, was there an obvious goal scoring situation?
My opinion is I'm unsure, so I give the benefit of doubt and say no.

In reply to Post #1146 Here are the rules:
A goalkeeper committing a handball outside their penalty area results in a direct free kick for the opposing team. If the handball denies a clear goal-scoring opportunity, the goalkeeper may also receive a yellow card, and potentially a red card if the opportunity is deemed obvious.
Key Points:
Direct Free Kick:
A handball outside the penalty area is always penalized with a direct free kick.
Yellow/Red Card:
The goalkeeper may also receive a caution or a red card if the handball denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity.
Same Restrictions as Outfield Players:
Outside the penalty area, a goalkeeper is subject to the same handball rules as any other player.
Penalty Area Definition:
The penalty area is defined by the line, and if any part of the ball is over the line, it is considered inside the penalty area, allowing the goalkeeper to use their hands.
VAR Intervention:
VAR can intervene if the handball outside the area denies a clear goal-scoring opportunity, potentially leading to a red card.
VAR intervention is was stopped Henderson being sent off IMO.
And as for the keeper going up for a corner and handles it, well he's obviously not Allison and is classed as an outfield player, so it would be handball. i.e. Same Restrictions as Outfield Players
Lineker ? Meeh
In reply to Post #1147 He's going early. Bonus

In reply to Post #1146 Some interesting points you've raised there. All players should be treated the same.
Bye bye Lineker. 👋👋
To**er.
In reply to Post #1145 You may be right but an outfield player wouldn't, so why should a goalkeeper?
Also what if a goalkeeper catches the ball inside the box but accidently slides on a wet pitch out of the box, a sending off would be harsh. Not even a yellow in my book, just a free kick to the opposition
Another scenario, in the last dying seconds the goalkeeper goes up to the other end of the pitch for the last corner of the game. He jumps to head the ball but it hits his hand.
Should he be sent off?
As I say it's all subjective and open to interpretation.

In reply to Post #1144 I always thought if the keeper handled outside the box they was off but, obviously not the case.
Would have spoiled the game if he had gone IMO.

In reply to Post #1143 All subjective.
If it wasn't a goal scoring opportunity then it would be a yellow card IMO

In reply to Post #1112 Spot on
I had to laugh a while ago when they interviewed RA, they asked him about Rashford, he said, he is not a Manchester UTD player at the moment, I guess that was based around his distinct lack of effort, compared to RH who is also not good enough to be a Manchester UTD player at the moment but is, another who deffo needs to go out on loan to see if he can find his shooting boots!

In reply to Post #1089 Maybe it's a tactical thing? It was a great finish from Marteta.
Out of interest how many goals do you think he has conceded because of his positioning?
Happy for him to do a few more of this during the rest of the season.
In reply to Post #1088 Yes he was to blame but if you watch as many Arsenal games as I do you'll notice that Raya is often way outside his penalty area.
Fine if it means he can get the ball back up the pitch but once he's done that he's reluctant to get back near his goal. In the past he's let in goals when the ball has been lobbed over his head.
I'm not saying a keeper should keep to his goal line but they should be mindful of where they position themselves. That's why he gave me the hump yesterday.
Anyway not that it's going to make a lot of difference. As you say one point to go
Hopefully the team can redeem themselves when they put their CL heads on next week

Don't know what Real were doing for the second with regards how they set-up their wall.
Arsenal basically stood next to them, then moved out the way for Rice to stick it top bins.

In reply to Post #1020 Yeah but united dont have a player remotely like mbappe ? Radcliffe and united are a bad fit long may it continue.
Cut wages good idea.
If you look in the premier league and even within Utd there are players on a lot less performing better.
Look how much he spent in his last job, clearly he’ll get limited funds in summer I heard Radcliffe say they have to shell out £89 million even before they start signing new players
https://www.givemesport.com/most-expensive-ruben-amorim-signings/
Look at PSG they look so much better without Kylian Mbappe.
In reply to Post #1018 Agree
I heard a bit on the radio, reckon he was calling players out for not performing, fair play.
Cutting wages, sure fire tactic to draw quality players into the club, unless he is trying to get them to leave

In reply to Post #1017 If ever there was a lucky team it is real madrid . On the home front i see radcliffe is to cut players wages !

In reply to Post #1016 First leg PSG dominated, last night i thought Liverpool were the better side overhaul and deserved the win, their goalkeeper was immense but i also think luck was not with them, they can be strange those big European nights!
I thought the ref had a very good game too and let the game flow, both teams relentless all night which i have to admit was pretty incredible. I also think that is Liverpool's best front 3 as well, Diaz and Jota seem to get the really important goals, they were unlucky last night.
Watching PSG counter was amazing, super quick and just pull people all over, i can see why MB banged 42 goals in. i thought Kvaratskhelia was fantastic in the first game and good last night, very dangerous on the ball and Dembélé, very good and unlucky too.
I said to my mate they would be ****ed when Klop went, he hasn't look back and the usual joke is, who?

In reply to Post #1014 I'd say we were beaten by the better side over the two legs.
Much better last night than the 1st leg.
We've won European Cups with penalties so you have to take the defeats aswell.
Not a massive fan of Donnarumma but he's a unit when it comes to penalties, fills the goal up.
Dissapointed with the result we gave everything tonight but no qualms about psg going through we had so many chances but over the two games they were the better side and good luck to them going forward.
In reply to Post #1013 Found it on premier sports 1 too
Well, have to say, incredible game of football that, don’t want to end that on penalties
Thought Diaz was superb. Think Liverpool tired after 70 minutes. Both sides had their chances though!
PSG were superb on the counter, probably the best two counterattacking sides around there
Both keepers had a hell of a game too!

In reply to Post #1009 Yes scoring in the PL is a problem at the moment yet we scored 7 goals from 6 players in the CL last week.
Just goes to show how poor PSV were last week.
In reply to Post #1008 Its fair to say both teams cant score for toffee at the moment and to win a game you need goals
BF 6
Amad 6
Zirkee 3
Knacho 3
De ligit 2
RH 2 and nothing for 20 games! 23 games and 2 goals for our main "threat" up front.
The above you would expect from one quality striker, never mind two, the rest is a bonus lol
Not a chance
In reply to Post #1007 We could have won it as well, especially in the first half
In reply to Post #1006 Can’t grumble with that, could have won it if we had a decent striker or two
In reply to Post #1005 Arsenal were lucky there. You should have been 3 nil up after 60 mins. Raya save em by being in the way. Great save from him later on from Fernandez tho. Thought you played very well.
Well here we go again the 10 men. Near on 20 games now for RH without a goal, it’s,got so bad they ain’t even passing to him when they do get chances now ffs!
Going for a RH hatrick today
Edit
Another wonder goal from BF.
RH FFS. I know he is still young but ffs how long do they continue with him for, seriously, like playing with 10 men, missed two chances that a decent striker would have buried in the last few minutes. Needs to go out on loan. Desperate need of a goal scorer or three ffs!
Too many chances and **** all again
Overhaul, can’t really complain other than lack of goals
In reply to Post #1001 You got absolutely thrashed but somehow managed to scrape through it, end of they day they have to score so it may be a tough task for them the second leg
In reply to Post #1002 To be fair, you are probably the only one on here who will be there
And when they are back down where they belong
Massive game next week!
Another big 8 days for us starting today an Anfield win against southampton will put us further ahead but i dont expect it to be easy as we struggle against the low sides . Tue night a massive tough one and then a final . Im at all three its expensive being at the top.
In reply to Post #1000 But the score was 0-1 We have been up there for years dont worry you will be one day again but i doubt we will see it
No card for a good old fashioned shoulder charge . .

Only scouse fans could think this, you got your absolute ******** tore out. I watched the game
When you are up there luck is with you, enjoy the moment
And, deffo red card that!

In reply to Post #998 Two types of commentators.
First is the ones who have to commentate live, say one thing and a minute later are proved to be wrong.
The second type are the MOTD types who can't have watched all of the games but talk utter bollox on all of them aided with a loads of arrows, circles and other hieroglyphics
Personally I think when it comes to spouting crap the second type edge it
In reply to Post #997 Yeah the whole of the commentary team are terrible . Ferdinand needs to take the golf balls out of his mouth ,mc coist i used to like but sounded like he was having a **** over psg. The worst though is mcmanaman talks a load of *****.

In reply to Post #994 Smash and Grab.
Allison = Not Human
Commentators -
Rimming PSG 99% of the game the worse commentary I've heard for a long time. "Liverpool have been awful, PSG have been magic."
Liverpool score late winner - "What a professional performance by Liverpool"
Dickheads...
I usually like Ali McCoist but he is becoming a parody of himself.
Too much Ferdinand aswell. Lost his mic when Liverpool scored.
What I see last night, although not pretty, there's a team that can dig in.
Konate got away with one I think.

In reply to Post #990 I have question...
Why doesn't Arteta play Trossard down the middle with Sterling on the left?
I know it's not the Sterling of City or even Liverpool but it's got to be better than playing Merino as the No 9 hasn't it?
Edit:They seemed to be able to find the net tonight 😂
I wonder if we'll manage to score a goal tonight.
A 0-0 wouldn't be bad I suppose

Still I rather you won it then the 115ers
Best we can do is score occasionally and hope for second.

Everyone i have listened to since the end of 90 minutes cant believe how easy it was for liverpool inc keane, pep, lebeouf, every newspaper . On the way out of the ground all the city supporters talking of being totally outclassed . As i say lots of posession no idea.

In reply to Post #979 Doku wasn't **** at all.
His crossing didn't come to much mainly due to konate stopping the ball getting into the box.
It's not ideal that trent couldn't prevent him getting past so often, but having a solid centre back to snuff out the through balls and crosses then cuts out Doku's end product.

In reply to Post #978 Ah yes, Doku.
Got past Trent 11 times was it? And created...nothing?
Someone on X summed him up perfectly "All fart, no *****"
Another one "It's like putting a Harlem Globetrotter into a NBA game!"
I thought City were pretty toothless tbf
Professional performance by Liverpool
In reply to Post #974 It was one way traffic for City, your right though, your tactics work, everyone behind the ball and very good on the counter, not a good footballing side but it works.
As for Trent, if it was boxing they would have retired him last night, embarrassed the poster boy big time and put it on him from the off!
As for City, touch of the UTDs, cant score for toffee and couldn't see them getting one either, Foden, ****, Halland didn't start!!!, how much!!! and the new guy got **** all off the ball

In reply to Post #976 Its not over yet by a long way . If we stay injury free then it is .

I had family around so didn't watch the match.
So no favours from the 115ers then.
For that reason I'm hoping they don't make the top 4

In reply to Post #942 Both Everton goals should not have happened . No foul for the first free kick and goal . Second goal at least 4 mins after full time should have finished and konate rugby tackled in lead up to said goal ! Don't get all the fuss about Everton celebrating a draw as if they've won the league.
If you can't celebrate a last minute equaliser against your local rivals then the game has gone. Although as the skipper says, it was their cup final..

In reply to Post #916 Once again zero goals for RH, zero threat and nobody giving him the ball either, tells me they have zero confidence in him, no surprise!
First season for RA, in at the deep end, super competitive league, I can see what he wants to do but he needs 2 quality front men for starters and a rock in midfield at the side of BF, breaking far too slow to break Premiership defences down. Last night they said RH can do 100m in 11 seconds, he needs to do it after 5 minutes of starting and go straight back down the tunnel Forest gump style and just keep on running and running

In reply to Post #886 Saw MOTD last night and thought wrong decision. On SSN just now they showed from another angle and studs showing catching he's achilles if that's the angle ref has seen then i can understand the red. Also thought Gomes was a straight red rather than a 2nd yellow.

As for the Scouse gits it would take a miracle for them to lose the title.
Still I'd rather them than the 115ers
In reply to Post #860 Like watching UTD. You aint got a chance of competing, zero threat up front, struggling for goals. Those Scoucers are going to run away with it
We played with Hojland up front again, looks that part but aint the part, seriously, i reckon he would struggle to get in a championship side. Shows the teams confidence in him for me because when the cross went in it went to BF purposely and what a finish that was! Then they wheeled Zirkee out and he scored the winning penalty. Probably the worst front two I have seen for a long time sadly, will they get better, very much doubt it
I think neither team wanted extra time and penalties and if I'm honest i wouldn't have complained if we were out of it and just concentrated on the league but there might be a tiny hope of some silverware in his first year which would be nice

In reply to Post #859 Sad but that's all he knows.
Comes on the forum to talk about fishing but only comes on the footy thread when my team loses.
His own team had to go to extra time to save the embarrassment against a bunch of non leaguers
You're right about the keeper, he was deservedly man of the match.

In reply to Post #858 You love it

Here we go with 10 men again
Edit
9 men

Job done
Great performance by the keeper

Nice run out today Y. N. W. A
Well done spurs well deserved

In reply to Post #853 I like a bit of honesty
I was sat watching it and after a couple of minutes I thought surely they would score then after 5 minutes i thought not a ****ing chance, nearly as bad as watching UTD trying to put one in the net
Newcastle played well , havertz is ***** and Arsenal would,nt have scored if they were still playing now. It does make me laugh though isak now worth 150 million and world class. Like trent he isnt world class and not worth anywhere near that. Arteta is losing the plot though .The ball was too light for them to score the same ball newcastle scored with !!!!
In reply to Post #850 I didn't see any of the match, I was on a night out in the West End.
A fed up Arsenal supporter on the tube said they had loads of shots but none of them on target.
Can't see us being able to turn it around in the second leg.
In reply to Post #850 Apparently it was the ball. Its to light, well that was Artetas excuse 😂
I never expected us to win mind. I would of been happy with a drawer or even getting beat 1-0 as I fancy our chances against anyone at st james park.
So what happened to the gunners last night, watched the last 10-15 minutes, Geordies pinned back 30 yds whilst I was watching, relentless pressure but two down
In reply to Post #847 Slump is deffo not over, agree.
RH missed two chances that any half decent striker would have buried and HM misses a sitter for the winner.
As mentioned below in Jasons post. Players attitude is one of the big things, why i said we will see how much they want it, if you cant be up for a game like that they should get rid of the lot of them. There was energy and a little bit of passion which was pleasing to see.
I hope Rashford gets ****ed off and the rout continues. When you look at clubs like Forest and Brentford, passion, drive and ambition is everything, who the players think they think they are means absolutely **** all, sell them all abroad for me, **** em. They have had an opportunity, people can lack in skill a little bit but not drive and ambition.
I didn't see any of the match so don't know whose comments are right or wrong.
I'm just glad like us yesterday the Scouse Gits dropped points
In reply to Post #845 Alot more shots on goal for liverpool. And we only had 10 players on too until bradley came on.Well i am glad all the urd fans think the slumps over because i guarantee it isnt. Those players should be ashamed of the previous games they played
I thought Utd played very well today, Liverpool must have been very happy that chance fell to maguire at the end 😀
There had been a lot of talk that the players were not good enough which I didn’t agree with.
It was always clear to me there were a couple of players with attitude issues one being Sancho that Ten Hag got rid off.
And it looks like Amorim has now got rid of Rashford the other problem child.
For too long player power has been an issue at Utd and clearly cost a number of managers their jobs.
Hopefully they can keep this performance up as they clearly are a lot better than 13th.
And Liverpool have something else in common with Utd a leaky roof 😀
In reply to Post #843 Thrashed you. Very very lucky as said, and that’s with 10 men because as I said, RH absolutely ****
I said further down the thread they would do well. His tactics are made for you, massive gap in midfield when salad and co are pressing, just need to get the ball out to the wings
To be fair, chuffed to bits with that performance because I’m sure there will be a lot of changes along the way
Players tried and did very well, can’t complain about that…today
In reply to Post #842 You know
In reply to Post #841 Nah we should have been 2 up in the first half . Maguire should have won it in the end . Piss wet through and i told you it was utds final.
Maguire to win it...
Lucky lucky Scousers.
In reply to Post #840 We should have won that, best side by far, missed chances ffs!!!
Player of the match BF, superb
In reply to Post #839 You could,nt fooking write it !!
Good first half, best team by far
RH ****ing rubbish, missed a sitter, wrong side of Van Dyke for a chance, get him off please ffs!
Like playing with 10 men from the off
Game on, See how much they want this!!!
BF back
Hojland, ****, that’s before we start, statistically the second best finisher in the league lol, when he get one. I should have gone and took my boots
In reply to Post #836 That would be great, but realistically by the way they are playing, and the way you are playing, you're gonna get a right pasting.
In reply to Post #835 W@nkers. You are letting them scoucers run away with it. We will have to stop them tomorrow now
Another draw due to a strange penalty decision
In reply to Post #833 There’s enough evidence now that it ain’t the manager. That team sheet says it all for me.
Saying that RA tactics are not proven in the premiership but they have to get behind him.
To be fair they missed two absolute sitters in the last game and the energy is up but as I have said for a long time, zero threat up front, **** all
Do they need BF back!
In reply to Post #830 But i thought Yoro was a world beater ? De ligt and Mazraoui two fantastic signings ,antony and garnacho also world beaters ? The squad is full of over paid mediocre players . You definately have the worst keeper youve ever had and in martinez the poorest defender. Old boy casermiro is on £375 ,000 a week ffs ! Rashford will play on sunday and you will be ok.
In reply to Post #831 Rocky road ahead. To be fair Newcastle are up there. Solid teamwork and a lot of energy!
Can only see what happens but looking at that team last night, he has a job on his hands!
In reply to Post #830 What are you going to be like when you're up against the Scouse Gits?
Well done the Tractors
Well a few things…
Onana - Banana
Martínez - not sure what position he would be good in!
Yoro, who?
Maguire - must try harder
M. de Ligt - who?
Antony - nice boy
Dalot - trying
Eriksen - 10 years past his best
Casemiro - 80 years past his best
Garnacho - ****
N. Mazraoui - headless chicken
Zirkzee - who?
Mainoo - where should he play then?
A. Diallo - swamped
R. Højlund - utter ****ing dog ***** looks the part but deffo aint the part, be good for division 5!
Who bought this lot lol. Feel for RA
****ed without BF
Credit to the toon, full of energy!
The other disappointing thing is I never saw a fat geordie with his shirt off
Gary Neville, water carrier, what a ****
Carragher, same as

In reply to Post #827 We’re the spuds 2-0 up?
No 0-1, 2-1 then 2-2
What I meant by being useless ****s is neither them or the Spams did us any favours when playing the Scouse Gits

We’re the spuds 2-0 up?

The 115ers downturn is good for football, it's more interesting if one team doesn't dominate year after year.
Especially if it comes to light they got there by breaking fair play rules
In reply to Post #806 Villa and Emry, what a performance, superb
Pep ****ed, City gone
As Jeff says, looks like a broken man on the touch line
Major problems there!
Pep has lost it he should have gone with klopp and gone down as the best ever.Looks a beaten man.
In reply to Post #803 Keeper was rhubarb but I understand why he dropped Onana after a couple of **** ups
I like Martinez, had a bad game, he is a trier but as a back 3 he’s look questionable, great tackler, lacks pace and height
I wish Erickson was 10 years younger, would do a great job as a play maker in that midfield!
Crying out for a striker or two but they have been for a while
I hope they finally **** Rashford off
In reply to Post #802 Martinez would,nt get in a pub team and i did,nt think utd could have a worse keeper than banana !!!

In reply to Post #795 Shame that, like I said, I bet he got decent odds on UTD

In reply to Post #794 I see him earlier and he done an Acca of some sort and dortmund let him down , would have been about three and half grand . Only one winner in gambling 🎰
In reply to Post #792 I bet he got some good odds!
I bet he will if he bets against City in their next game. if they lose another ffs
In reply to Post #790 Massive win that
Some balls leaving the poster boy out and Garnacho, if they had got thrashed it would have been a totally different story!
I hope he gets shut of all those lazy ****ers, everyone put a shift in and if they had lost I would not have been too bothered, would with the league position of course but it was refreshing to see
Still has a job to do though

In reply to Post #788 And Amad, a star I born ⭐
In reply to Post #787 Well done Manure
Pep out
Best team won, take away the deflection for city’s goal, **** all
I can confirm that Manchester City are ****ed
UTD best side, really good performance all round and what a finish for the winner
10/10 to the manager for leaving Rashford out of the team, good effort by all, pleased
In reply to Post #785 Snap for the win
In reply to Post #784 A few years back I'd be hoping for a City win.
But things have changed, I'm hoping Manure thrash the 115ers
In reply to Post #782 Could be a good game, both of them need the win, I will settle for a draw, or a thrashing of City. RA did him during their last meeting, saying that he didn’t have these players
Anyway, two draws on the bounce for the pool, unlucky Fulham, thought they were going to get the last minute winner, they deserved it!
Anymore dropped points and it'll be the Europa league for us
In reply to Post #781 You will when they spank you on sun 🤣 I thought pep would leave at the end of season i now think he will be lucky to last until then.
In reply to Post #780 They will get away with **** all
How one player, Rodri can be missed, play maker!
It’s like the rest of the team has aged over the last few months. Halland and Foden, ****, not that I give a ****
In reply to Post #779 130 charges now.
Reckon the players know their fate. Punishment will be dished out Feb/March.

Well, European game next week then CIty at the weekend, I fancy the win
Then the Spuds, no easy games at the moment

Disappointed to drop points in our fight to finish 2nd.
Only one thing for it. Come on you Spuds, don't let me down
Edit
Same old Spuds song
Two nil and you ****ed it up.

In reply to Post #767 Arne slot nah nah nah nah nah

In reply to Post #766 Another one comes out of the closet
City still have the best players but credit to the scourcers, great counterattacking football, most of the time everybody behind the ball so difficult to breakdown. TBH, no way can they play that tempo for a season but time will tell.
How they miss Rodri and the right winger in the first half is not a city player, ****. Front two very poor again.
Salah, footballing god, what a player!
Anyway, biggest result of the day, 4-0 to the real super reds. Great post interview by the manager, don’t put too much into that, we have a massive amount of work to do, he knows
What a performance, we're going to win the league.
Can someone please trim Peps nails...
In reply to Post #764 I'm in two minds.
I need the 115ers to win but I'm enjoying their 5 loses on the trot
A potential good super Sunday today at 5pm. A must win for City otherwise I can see the Scoucers running away with it on current form!
Gonna watch it, hope it’s a cracker
Happy with that performance. Garnacho should have had two though
Lot of possession, played well, good attacking football and the players look happy, things can only get better, a work in progress but credit to the manager
In reply to Post #761 My mate was there, I had my phone all ready to text him when they got thrashed
You watch them regular Jeff, I don’t but I will say this, that has got to be one of the best performances I have seen from them, even when they were under Klop. Chased everything, relentless. There’s a reason why you are top of the league, it was some game that!
In reply to Post #760 Just on the long trek back from Anfield . Just cant beat a european night at Anfield . Best performance of the season so far hopefully same again sunday .
Well, pains me to say it, some performance from the Scoucers that, couldn’t grumble with that if your a fan, some effort that by all, loved how Salah was tracking back, 4 or 5 **** touches though and the penalty miss.
Credit to the Arse Slot, got them playing well.
Good news is the Spanish ****s lost

What happened to the 115ers? Oh well at least they've stopped their 5 game losing streak

Much needed win for Lopetegui and west ham tonight
Need to back it up with a good performance against Arsenal Saturday

In reply to Post #747 Considering what’s next all of a sudden it really is a big issue.
Yesterday the spuds countered them brilliantly and Maddison was superb!
KDB has been out and Rodri still, shows how big those two are for City for me. As for Foden and Halland, very poor, form gone!
All to prove in the next few games!
In reply to Post #747 They will get away with the charges . Problem with city is rodri out and an aging side . Walker left for dead by werner, saying that spurs were superb.Dont write city off they will be back.
In reply to Post #747 I hope so
I think Ralphy should make an appearance.
It'll make a change, he normally only comes on when thew Arse do badly.

Pep out?
5 in a row is a crisis for any team.
These charges hanging over them must be having an effect?
Feyenord then Liverpool away. 7 in a row?
In reply to Post #744 Wokey Linekar probably said 'If I go I will get to say who will replace me'
Viewing numbers will drop and then he'll say he'll come back but his price is £2million and he'd want a migrant centre named after him.
I wish Mal was here, he'd tell us why we are wrong.

In reply to Post #736 I stopped watching about 5 years ago. They had become an obnoxious old pals act. All three of them should have gone years ago and replaced with a more relevant and up to date panel.
I reckon Gabby should take the lead. Plenty of experience, likes a laugh and doesn't mess about.

In reply to Post #735 They tend to over analyse games on a Saturday compared to a Sunday.
Too many superimposed arrows and circles used to try and show off that they know what they are talking about. MIcah being the worst culprit.
It happens on a Sunday but it's much more palatable.
There's not enough time for the pundits to watch all the games and then talk about it afterwards
So who is watching for them and feeds them the crap their often spout?

End of the day he’s 82, been seriously ill and nothing has really changed apart from him not being paid for his role. Let him have some rest I say.
I get the pity party from United fans as there would be uproar if FSG did the same with Sir Kenny, but this sort of thing happens alot when companies take over companies.
I think the press are making more of this than it actually is because of who it is. (shock horror).
I read plenty of reports saying that he has been trying to do less over the past year anyway, so?
United has been run poorly the past few years and I guess INEOS are trying turn things around. Good luck with that..

In reply to Post #683 Yep, sums it up.
@Tinhead, yes, third world problems but even at 40k a week imagine how long it would take to spend the value he's brought to the club...it's pennies in those sorts of terms.
I read it was just over 2 mill a year, the outs they've given right left and centre, the s**t deals they've brought in....and then they treat one of the greatest managers of all time like that over 2 mill and hide behind cost cutting
If JR Ineos reads this, you should be ashamed of yourself, I bet you pay more to advertising companies, and even if you don't, you've just lost a lot of credibility.
Remind me how much you'll have to pay TH to go having just extended his contract.
Same old, same old, deflection by the Glaziers springs to mind, and you JR were cheap.

In reply to Post #679 They are ****ed. Shower of *****
Role model, inspiration to players and who brought that club more success than they could have dreamed about. Poor show
To be fair, they offered him that, bet he would done the role for transport plus a bit of cover, the club was his life and passion
If TH goes who the **** are we going to get next

In reply to Post #680 At first I thought it was a bit mean taking his ambassador role of him.

Alex Ferguson to leave Man U's anbassador role for cost cutting measures and told to stay away from the dressing room.
About one of the only nice things to see when Man U are playing, the old Scot in his chair, as for not giving advice...if he did, perhaps they'd want to represent the shirt. I can't begin to think what's going through Af mind watching the present drivel.
Ioh well...onwards and downwards

In reply to Post #676 Different scenario IMO.
The clubs he fell out with, PSG and Chelsea, two clubs that are prone to changing managers as much as there kit. Despite that, he deal some good things at both clubs.
He'll be entertaining with the England Team journalists though.
I agree though, good appointment from a Man Utd point of view. They get to keep seven-hag a bit longer
In reply to Post #675 My exact sentiments... he has a reputation for clashing with those above him at clubs.
I think its a good appointment, as a Man United fan, it means he is no longer going to be continually linked to us.

How long before he falls out with the hierarchy at the FA?

In reply to Post #667 Missed the Greece game (thankfully), watched last night's game.
England looked OK, shame about not keeping a clean sheet.
Grealish probably earnt that £500 he lost to Trent during the time it took Trent to set the free kick up and put it in the back of the net
Anyway, back to proper football this weekend. Liverpool's first real test with a string of tough games coming up.

In reply to Post #644 even I've had enough of him now...wth was that against Totters!
At least Brunos red got overturned...why var didn't step in and say it wasn't a red is beyond me.
Refs often don't give a second yellow when it's well and truly deserved in the 'interest of the game' why were they so adamant when we could all see he slipped (though I still think he did it deliberately up the shin)
Now we'll never know how many Totts could have scored with him on the pitch

In reply to Post #637 So true. How long will they put up with him for me, time will tell but they are paying the price of a series of ***** management, there’s a lot to change. I reckon out of that side Fergie would keep Fernandez, SMT, like Fletcher, work hose, and possible Martinez and of course the poster boy Rashford who is the new Welbeck. He would probably be getting splinters in his arse from the bench.
I think TH has took on a bad situation, no doubt but you have to question him tactically too, it ain’t working

In reply to Post #627 I don't mind Trossard getting sent off if the ref was consistent.
A Wallets player kick the ball away to delay the game and it went unpunished.
The ref allowed some very hard tackles yet booked Trossard for a nudge in the back.
Anyway, I thought we was going to win it towards the end but a draw ain't so bad.
In reply to Post #626 What an opener by Haaland!
Keeper should have saved the gunners first. Great header, ****ed up Walker, touching him to see where he was but not looking, lost him and great header that!
Trossard, what a ****ing idiot, smack in front of the ref, no need
Be 10-2 in the second half now

In reply to Post #612 The reason he gave was he's too focused on the game to be able to sing!
Jerusalem, that 'll be a can of worms
In reply to Post #611 Nah, if he doesn't want to it's fine by me. He's from Eire, Capello was the same. Why sing the anthem of a foreign country?
Besides the team should be singing Jerusalem not God save the king. England are playing not Britain. "And did those feet in ancient times......."
New England manager will not sing the national anthem.
He may have his reasons, but by not doing so he's not going to make it easier for himself.
Far easier to sing, it's part of the job and not a good look when the team doesn't play well.

In reply to Post #607 I looked at both sides starting line ups and subs , there isnt a player in utd that would get in the Liverpool team ! Your keeper is one of the worst to wear the shirt , no goal scorer , Defence pulled out of position every attack ,A manager thats deluded and in denial . Long may it continue.
In reply to Post #604 I believe there could be have been a lot of truth in that Jason and it has been that way for a while. If the blokes in charge he is in charge, out with the ****s!
Nobody is bigger than the club
I look at that team and if I am totally honest I think, who is gonna win it or wants it and I can’t see **** all!
In reply to Post #602 Agree, it’s simple, who will lead the line, we have seen tonight, I can only hope he comes good. I seriously question what happens with all those sat in the bench getting splinters in the arses for $
In reply to Post #604 You cant blame the owners now . Ineos running the show . Buying crap players for massive money does,nt help.
Same as last season for whatever reason whatever manager they just can’t get the players to play. Clearly wearing the shirt brings added pressures understandably but they are pocketing a lot of money.
I think if you look at all the managers they’ve had - what do they have in common ? - either they are too soft or they have no actual authority.
Until the owners are gone things will just continue on.

Was not the greatest game but I thought they looked a lot more solid especially defensively.
Some good games today be interesting how the new arrivals get on in the league

In reply to Post #580 Yep, same old same old. They keep showing glimpses but not there yet. I liked Zirksees confidence just sticking a boot out, any other UTD player would've needed 3 touches from there

So, based on that where are the goals coming from ffs!
In reply to Post #577 Tells you everything when you are relying on SMT to score and he saved their skins a few times last year. I haven’t seen a serious attacking threat for a few years now and that’s what they need if they are serious about the top 4 and the league etc. inconsistent throughout, he seems to talk the talk in the interviews, he needs to borrow the hairdryer from Fergie and give them what for. Roy Keene summed them up perfectly last year, sloppy, and that’s what they have been for a while. Need some leaders, some passion and ambition
He needs to offload a few too
In reply to Post #576 Yeah you are right ! It was actually scholes i listened to . As for nichol i wouldnt listen to anything he says
In reply to Post #573 I couldn't agree more mate and to rub salt into the wounds were looking to offload McTominay, last seasons lead scorer. I think TH is looking to emulate Fergie in that goals can come from all over but we still need at least 2 strikers.
I like Weggy I don't think he had enough supply in front of goal and was asked to play too deep which hindered him getting to where he should be when he did get supply. His work rate put a lot of his team mates to shame.
Disjointed is how I'd describe UTDs last few seasons and TH needs to sort that rapidly, I haven't seen enough improvement to justify a long extension to his contract, I'd have given him a year. If we don't sign another striker there's THs excuse for this season....I'm talking myself out of watching them here
In reply to Post #574 Utter cobblers. Dier played 15 times and De light partnered him for 14 of those games. During his time at Bayern he played 73 times.
Stop listening to d***heads like Souness and Nicholl.
In reply to Post #574 That said he’s still an improvement for Utd 😀
I think Rashford will do better this season with Hojlund out
In reply to Post #573 They have signed de ligt juventus got rid of him and he could,nt get in the bayern side , dier kept him out 🤣
In reply to Post #568 Some strikers they need if they are serious about winning the league. Rashford and co ain’t gonna get the goals they need
Weghorst, how many ****ing games. Tells you something that for me, Fergie would have had him clearing the boots… of the clubs cleaners
**** Rashford, he is paid a hell of a lot of money to deliver and as far as I’m concerned he has not. **** feeding the poor he needs to concentrate on getting the goals then he could do whatever he likes for me. Can have the best defence in the world, they need the ball in the back of the net and I am still not convinced, been same for quite a few seasons now and that’s the difference, not a serious threat
In reply to Post #571 No point in getting players in if they are,nt the ones you want . They know exactly what they are doing . Few weeks of transfer window left yet.
It’s odd that Liverpool are the only premier league team not to get any players in, I see that Zubimendi has decided against a move.
Will Liverpool regret this transfer window ?
In reply to Post #569 Hadn't seen that about Yoro
Should be a clause in the contract so you can just send them back ir get compo. What is it with these players, made of butter fgs!
Edit, last I heard it was 3 months/Oct.

In reply to Post #561 Got to agree, should've got rid of Rashford. City were very poor but some of Utds passing was superb.

In reply to Post #561 Got to go I’m afraid. How long has he been inconsistent for, think Welbeck!
Massive club, needs massive players and egos to cope with it, that’s the way it is unfortunately

I would've liked to see Yoro today, guess I'll be waiting 3 months.
I can't see TH going with anything other than experience, City will just pass round them unless Utd outpace/harass them off the ball, can't see UTDs players doing that but I hope I'm wrong!

In reply to Post #548 I was following the Liverpool game online.
Two fairly strong starting line ups but neither anywhere near 1st 11 teams so it's hard to put too much on it - even though it's always good to get a win.
Elliot played well for us and carvalho looks to be trying hard again. He's got some talent but really needs to get his head down and work or he may be surplus again.
Still no signings for us. Double edged sword really, we need to strengthen, but I also like to see the young players coming through.

What did the Jamaicans do to deserve that

Potch, Tuchel and Joachim Low have all chucked their hat in for the England job.
Steptoe has a history of falling out with hierarchy so we can forget him.
Potch likes to play the youth and knows how to play attractive football.
Low, World cup winner. Being a German won't be well received.

In reply to Post #537 At his age, 35 minutes is a decent percentage of his lifespan so far 😁
He's definitely got potential- otherwise Madrid wouldn't have been sniffing too.
Diallo could be the star at united this year - another with a lot of potential who might get to show it this season

Not a bad introduction for Yoro first game away to Rangers. He's playing well. Looks comfortable on the ball, great pass on him and likes to get forward. Only 35 minutes in but coping well.

In reply to Post #535 Agree If Leny does take to it and both him and Martinez stay fit that's a pretty strong defensive pairing, time will tell! Looking at the way TH likes to ease players in we may not see much of him until needs must!

In reply to Post #534 I think lille and the lads agent have got the best of this deal.
Apparently Liverpool were also interested but that price plus add ons for that player is not the way fsg work. I think united have overpaid again as with a lot of players in recent years.
It remains to be seen whether he'll be another expensive mistake or a rare (in recent history) success.
He'll find the premier league a lot tougher than the 2 hard games against PSG each year

In reply to Post #533 Why would it be o.k to spend £85 on Maquire, I haven't said anywhere I'm a fan, can you guess I'm not.
Regards screen shotting my post....why...the body of evidence for buying high and selling low lies in my favour, not yours
So Leny wants to go to Real (he said so), Real won't meet the price tag and offer 30 mill, way below what Lille want. Acording to the papers today Lille threatened to bench him next season as his contract runs out and he'll be worth nowt to them. No doubt agent has a word in his ear and then he wants to join Man U, his heart was in that then. We'll see how he plays, I hope he does well, I really do.
I have no doubt he's a real talent (in French football), but UTD have a habit of snubbing it out, and I dislike them intently for it, but I'll always be a red and live in hope

In reply to Post #532 And it's ok to spend £85m on Maguire? 🤣
I suggest you screenshot your post and then review it at the end of the season. This kid is the real deal.👍

And in other news, Man U spend £52 million on a 18 year old, Leny Yoro, centre back.
So much for Utd not over paying for unproven players Under Sir Jim!
Best of luck keeping anyone fit this season.
One of the brightest talents in France, rings a bell...how long will it take us to devalue him too.

In reply to Post #527 Proven track record winning international tournaments?
Nah, the FA wouldn't consider that.
I'd support her. She knows how to get a team playing fluid attacking and WINNING football. I doubt I'm in a majority there though 😁
There are good managers out there. But I think there are too many stupid self imposed restrictions. Somebody English. Somebody who knows the FA set up. Somebody who will say 'yes' without questioning... etc.

Boring, defensive, low block, no possession, out dated football

In reply to Post #518 Hooray. Thank f*** for that.
Now can we have an investigation as to why the FA thought it a good idea to throw £40m away on appointing Mr no plan B? Bloke was a fraud.
Think Potter will be more of the same. Howe could be a good choice, at least he knows how to attack.
Potch has thrown his hat in the ring. Interesting. 🤔

In reply to Post #516 The manager sets the team up and tactics he wants to play. All the players have to do is give it 100%. Tactically we were on dimensional and too defensive and wanting to hold possession all of the time, personally I couldn’t give a **** if we held the ball no more the 20% of the time as long as when we did get it we had a threat on goal. We did not have one, all the goals came from the players been creative, not from the team set up being tactically sound. All the possession bar the Spain game, up to 30 yds and then back down the field to the defence, boring as ****
Like Kane, dropping deep all of the time cause he wants the ball, when he gets it 50 yds out, zero threat. When we break he is still in our own half ffs.
Please get somebody who wants to play football, not just try to hold the ball and defend

In reply to Post #515 I can't remember his name but there was an ex PL footballer on TV blaming the players rather than Southgate for their performances.
He said the reason these players play well for their clubs but don't for England is down to the players and it's not Southgate's fault.
I can't remember this ex PL players name but it probably was because he wasn't very good for whoever he played for
It's ok for us on here for us to have our opinions but I don't like it when these type of people get a fee for peddling tripe.

In reply to Post #511 England were in a weak group and made a mess of it . Had the easiest route to the final and only made that due to an awful penalty decision . Spain beat Germany on home soil and france on the way to the final both of which would have beaten England .Jude bellend did fook all apart from the overhead kick . Kane fook all because of southgates setup. Palmer,Gordon,Trent,Toney, and bowen wasted on the bench .Spain outplayed england last night in all areas and deserved to win.
In reply to Post #510 Yes but with the players we've got we should be the better team.
In getting to the final we shouldn't be relying on last minute goals.
Southgate has taken us as far as he can, it now needs someone else to take us up to the next notch.
End of the day Spain were the better team and they won the game simple.
In reply to Post #502 I thought Walker was superb. Luke Shaw out of position and doubled up on. He did the right thing dropping Rashford, club form he is poor.
That last goal could have gone either way, we had our chances too then you would be singing a different tune. Spain are better in attack buts that’s it for me, it’s their game. We all knew what they would bring
In reply to Post #503 I agree, the first few games were shockingly poor, boring
The question is, when he changed tactics and played with a back 3 was that planned or out of pure desperation, if it’s the latter then he has to go.
Kane is one of the best strikers in the world but Southgate’s set up ain’t playing to his strength, pace of a donkey in comparison to others. I said below, I wish he would have started without him in this game, we needed outright pace to break and counter and we could have beat the Spanish ****s, they are very average when under pressure and the defence is *****

In reply to Post #502 Got to agree. I said it before, I couldn't see Southgate changing his approach which is a shame and I hold him responsible for the loss. If he'd have started with a more attacking line up or even made the subs earlier I think England would have stood more of a chance. When he did make the subs it changed the game and I thought Spain were there for the taking but they ran out of time, and Bellingham was running on empty by the time he did. Stones had a pretty good match but there were 2 opportunities where he just seemed a little lazy, could have put a leg out and didn't, think the cross for the 1st goal might of been 1 of them, but cqr. Also at times Rice just didn't push into midfield to help Mainoo from being passed around.
I don't think Spain played that well but they did enough, fair play to them.
In reply to Post #502 Can't disagree with any of that really. Same old same old, get to a semi or final via an easy route and as soon as we come up against anyone decent we fold and lose.
I for one will be glad to see the back of Southgate with his negative and uninspiring brand of football.
You'll never win anything with losers in charge we need someone with that winning mentality.
So who would we all like to see in charge?

In reply to Post #501 Nope
Spain were far better and once again, Southgate doesn't play the creative and attacking players. Before Spain scored their second he was about to bring Gallagher and trippier on ffs
You have to feel for players like palmer, Watkins, trent, grealish, even rashford and bowen. And in Bellingham we have a potential ballon d'or player who has been like a gold filling in a glaswegian tramps smile.
Kane was woeful again. Walker at fault for both goals.
So many quality young players who deserve better.

Well...
It's a bit uninspiring so far. Same old for England during this tournament
But that's how they've got to the final so who knows?
Balance looks better with Shaw on the left. Mainoo is anonymous- not helped by pickford kicking long every time.
Williams for Spain looks good.
No Rodri for the 2nd half though so that's a big loss for the Spanish

In reply to Post #496 Player for player there is not many I would swap with Spain for me if I'm honest
They are **** in defence. Would love to see JB, Foden and Saka up front, run them to death

In reply to Post #492 Koeman got his tactics wrong, I don't blame the team for that, shame it took him 35 mins to make a change and plug the gap in midfield. From that perspective I'd expect nothing less of the experienced English players to take full advantage but the tactical mistake made them look good.
I don't expect Spain to make the same mistake but as with everything in this comp who knows, though Spain have been consistantlly good. I would like to think Southgate will adopt a more positive approach to the game but again, he's a stickler to what he knows. To everyone watching Kane has done not a lot and Olly has done a lot better in the time he has, it would be a obvious change for me. The stance of Kane occupying defenders doesn't stack up when he's nowhere near the box half the time. Same re Trippier and Rice, keeps playing them even though they're not really earning their place compared to the subs that come on.
Foden was electric, to me with Palmer and Saka they'd run anyone ragid but how often are they getting the chance, as a trio.
Yes Lamals exciting, Cucurella has been superb for Spain, looking forward to watching hime agin.
As I've said before on here, Palmer comes on, things happen. On for ten mins, has a shot and has an assist. Watkins what a finish. Just don't know why he has to leave it until 80 mins!? These last.two performances have been so much better than the four previous. I think England fans don't mind losing when they play like that with a bit of effort. Foden so much better this game as well. I think England have a chance tbf. Bit yes that yamal is special, fingers crossed.

Great goal by Watkins. England played well for a change. Not a penalty though.

What a finish!
It’s coming home.
If we had gone out it would have been very disappointing, Dutch were poor. First half we were superb, Foden brilliant, best I’ve seen him. Chocked midfield second half and did what they did all game, just looked for a counter.
Incredible goal for the winner
We didn’t want any extra time

Great goal by Olly, fair result on balance, Spain now

Don't think anyone thought that Yamal would show up like he has and he's only 16, 17 by the time of the final! Bloody Hell !!

In reply to Post #485 Spain have looked good throughout for me.
That young lad Yamal - wow - plus Williams, Olmo, Rodri... all very good.
Watched Yamal's goal a lot of times. Seriously good. Not many players would send both Rabiot and Saliba so easily and then get that shot away to beat a really goof keeper.
The game was great to watch after some of the Dog poo we've had to suffer so far
In reply to Post #485 Yes the rolling around really pisses me off.
I've not watched all the matches so can't be certain but is it the case that most nations have curtailed the practise somewhat but the Spanish are as bad as ever?

In reply to Post #484
Yes and no, my father was Dutch so I grew up watching the, Netherlands because he loved them and Germany because he, err, 'disliked' them but admired the football. Naturally we watched England too, but all I ever remember of that was the word 'quatch' aka rubbish
So, I like to follow all 3 teams but given choice between all 3 England would be last until they earn it, semis don't count unless your the UK press .
If by some fluke, and I mean fluke, England win it, no real English football fan can hold their hands or head up and say they deserved it, or played well. The 'win is a win', not for me and as far as them being hailed along side the best the U.Ks produced, get a grip folks
Papers are saying Trippier starting though Shaw is available.
Really looking forward to it, I hope it's as good as last night's match, face slams excluded...or maybe not, can't see Walker not reacting to that!

I must admit the thought of drab England being in the final...hmm. It would be great for English football & English fans, but for football fans & the game I think not, crikey we'd never hear the end of it, statues of Southgate.
I really hope it'll be Netherlands v Spain, that would be a good final.

Watching England is like dace fishing with a barbless hook…..
It’s no fun, technically you are fishing but feck all is gonna end up in the net, and eventually a bigger fish is going to come along and its game over

What a goal by Yamal
Edit, I'm constantly told how great the French team is, I get fed up hearing it, just like how great PSG were with MB, not!. Great game from the Spanish, well deserved.

I thought the injury time at the very end of the Spain v Germany match was a bit suspect.
It went on and on as if the ref wanted Germany to equalise,

In reply to Post #475 Agree re Turkey, that young lad is something else. Gakpo deserved that bit of luck for not giving up and chasing the ball down. Was a good end to the match. 2 wins on the trot not a penalty shoot out in sight, I'll take that
Edit, according to the papers the Netherlands have only lost once in competitive football to England and if they get through Koeman wants Spain as they've already played France, not so sure myself, think I'd prefer France, I'd fancy Spain....hmm

In reply to Post #474 More luck than anything. Turkey are a good side and a nice watch, attack, attack, how many chances last off!!!

Yessss

Not looking good :-( De Puy needs to come off Weghorst on, someone who will get behind the Turk back 5 DP just holds up play back to goal. When the wingers do get it there's no 1 in the middle and Gakpo is being marked out of the game.
Going to be a hard slog beating that Turkish defence.
In reply to Post #470 They had their chances, to be fair they are a decent team. I agree though, we have not real outlets when pressed and we go deeper and deeper
Got to admit, some minerals Trent, not played and what a pen that was!
Palmer looks class and Luke Shaw made a difference too for me. When it opened up it was a bit more entertaining, thought it was going to end to end but we fizzled out a bit, legs had gone which is understandable
As much as I hate to say, it, international football is a different game to what we are used to watching

Were lucky towards the end with those few Swiss chances and hitting the bar.
Kane looked absolutely fu**ed!

Pleased for the players who put the penalties away.
But by God the football is pretty dire.
England are the new Greece?
First half I was thinking ffs. The subs were the key, straight away, attacking and men in the box. He needs to just tell Bellingham and Foden to run at them. Soon as Palmer was running at them they were on the back foot and **** theirselves
Can’t say I am happy about penalties but they all did well, best I have seen, super composed
Simple for me, they need to play to Kanes strengths and he needs to stay up the field or they have to drop him, great finisher but not getting any service, when we do have the ball he has the pace of a donkey and is on the half way line ffs
Really liked the look of Toni, him and Foden up front running at them could be something special for us
In reply to Post #466 Taken a charmed path so far so wouldnt surprise me if they did, but wouldnt it be great if they could put in a performance we could all be proud of.

Cant believe with 10 minutes to go before a penalty shootout he took Kane off ????

In reply to Post #462 Bit late but you never know 4 Shaqiri, but looking more & more like pens.
If the Netherlands play as slowly as they did last match Turkey will rip them to bits, but if they play the way they're capable of it could be 3:1.
My orange shirt is on, I hope my father (Dutch) is watching on from above

In reply to Post #459 Yep, the commentators are saying Kanes making no moves Are they watching a different game, he's made 3 runs with the ball on the R wing, where does it get sent, L of the box, same old same old.

So he's playing wing backs for width and some attack down the flanks
However - he's got right footed Trippier on the left out of position and left footed Saka on the right out of position. So they both have to come inside to get on their better foot. Negating the use of wing backs entirely.
And the player with the best right foot and passing in English football who creates more from that right side than any other defender?
Nah. He's on the bench.
Fecking clueless

In reply to Post #441 They did, but we're robbed, conspiracy a lot of dodgy decisions going so called favourites ways. At least it was the most decisive victory for a while, a team that scores 3, missed 4 or 5 clear opportunities and they aren't playing well, not bad!

If the Netherlands can sort the finishing out and stop playing backwards at the slightest wiff of a counter they're real contenders, could have been 6-0.

Football clique I know but it's a result business and they are getting the results.
I personally hope we never see Walker or Trippier in an England shirt again. You'll lose nothing and only gain by playing Trent at RB and Gomez at LB (I'm Liverpool biased maybe).
Neither Walker or Trippier have offered anything.

Hope the Swiss do a job on us to stop Southgate going further.

Portugal, another bore fest, another 'top' team scraping through and proud to do so as a 'win is a win'. The pundits saying teams are much better and closer these days, no just some play with passion while others think they deserve to win and can't be arsed. Slovenia did themselves proud.
What a load of tosh, bloody prima donna's, get a grip Ronaldo.

Can't watch anymore If Georgia think they can defend for 90 mins it's game over. Yes Spain beat them twice but play like this and hope to counter, don't think so!

In reply to Post #421 Awful to watch, good knows what the travelling fans think.
For the last 20 minutes of normal time they opened up a bit, and looked very vulnerable at the back. I suppose you could say that both our world class players stood up and were counted but ultimately we were lucky too.
Pickford what a tit, we were lucky, showboating off his line all of the time!
Trippier clueless going forward, thought all Man City players were average and Rice was *****, Saka, a whole load of nothing all tournament

In reply to Post #417 Thought I'd replied to the handball debacle last night, not sure where it went..but..
If the ball strikes the hand surely the owness is to prove the player couldn't of moved his hand out of the way due to the proximity of where it was struck and how fast the ball was struck. With all this tech nowadays it could be done easily.
As it stands from how I saw that decision last night a player could have their back to play, arms out stretched (whinging to the ref probably), no idea of where the ball is or the opposing player, and if the ball strikes his hand it's a penalty due to being in a unatural position, context not considered.
Worst performance I've ever seen from an Italy side. Thats one bunch of cheats out of the way.
Denmark was robbed.
Why was VAR getting involved with an offside decision when it was not a clear and obvious error?
Handball my arse! The ball barely touched his arm just feet from where the ball was kicked. Why did this 'Snickometer' have two identical spikes? Surely the contact with the ball off the players foot should indicate a larger spike.
Bloody Germans.

I don’t usually mind the Italians, usually play decent football, like us to date they have been rhubarb and based on their performances don’t really deserve to be in it

Omg, how bad can Italy be, good on Switzerland
I hope it stays 2-0 or goes more fir the Swiss, can't see Italy not upping their game but seen no evidence in any game they've played that they can do it!

In reply to Post #397 You said it mate I had them pegged for beating Portugal, they'd simply out run them and they did, but not only that they played some brilliant football.
As you say a pleasure to watch and when you see that level of 'wanting it/playing for each other/the fans and country' it makes you realise how I think we, as brits watching the premiere league have become used to less than stimulating football and are being conditioned to accepting it as the norm with these millionaire softees. That Georgia team would have given City a run for their money simply by closing them down before they can play the beautiful game, like they do against the teams like Man U that can't be arsed anymore.
Georgia have played at that level since game 1, I wondered if they could keep it up, game after game, near 90 mins full on, but they seem to be able to do nearly just that, come on Georgia, you make watching football exciting again

I might paint a wall ..

In reply to Post #391 I'll go with that. Trent in defence worries me though, although if he steps up and has a few good games we'll be laughing. I'd play Jude before Foden, I'm not convinced we can play both at the same time. Do you or don't you with Saka is the conundrum. It looks like the Dutch next game, he may struggle against the big lads they have as he gets knocked over easily. However it should be like a premier league game so he might work. I'm convinced if we attack it will go well for us, just not sure wether that word features in Southgate's vocabulary though.

Top of the group, unbeaten whilst playing awful football you have to take that. It's the only positive mind.
Didn't look any better without Trent in the side....
Looked better 2nd half after replacing Gallagher with Mainoo who needs to start next game for me.
Is it just me or is Foden afraid to tackle? He seemed to pull out of every 50-50, Closing down was good but put your foot in lad!
I also agree that I would like to see us start the next game as we finished this one.
Not sure if there's an issue with Trippier but play Walker at left back if you have to, he's offered nothing on the right anyway.

Would probably go Foden over Bellingham and Gordan over Saka tbh.
At least you know that Palmer and Gordon will make runs to take advantage of Trent's passing range and not be afraid to take their fullbacks on. I think Foden is better as a 10 than Bellingham, although neither of them are an out and out 10.
Remember lads, it just an opinion.

Southgate has no idea . Abysmal.

I just can't...England have now got the easy draws, Southgate will get us to the semis and be praised for what good management and how far he's got us, on sheer luck again. He needs to go, if he stays after this tournament it's a disgrace.

Looking forward to the Netherlands match tonight, also as a Man U fan I'd like to see Zirkzee get a run out, I see we're after him, as are a few other clubs. In reply to Post #372 Not far off for me. I wish they would **** that shower off, Linker and co. The comments in the last game were boring as ****, we’re behind them, no we are not. Like Harry Kane said, they have won **** all
I think pre Southgate but even worse now, when it comes to the last 30 yds we don’t have much idea. What did Trent do in the last game, around 47 minutes ran at them and they were clueless, then we didn’t do that anymore!!!
Trent and Rce playing similar roles, protect the defence which is fine when you don’t have the ball, we have all the possession going forward and then come back with the ball, far to slow at going forward, we give teams an age to get people behind the ball and then we throw Harry Kane in there by himself ffs. If Kane is up front he wants attacking midfield players around to make the runs and get the ball to his feet or head, one chance in the first game and he buried it. Watch him for Bayern, into his feet, in the net!
Southgate ain’t setting up to Kanes strengths and to be honest I’m not sure what I plan is other than Saka and Foden down the wings and although JB scored he ain’t done much for Kane either for me. He needs to play alongside Kane to bring others up and into the game. No point sat behind him when he has 3 or 4 round him, he ain’t gonna receive the ball

Who are everyone's best match commentators /co comms so far in this tournament?
Best Comms, Clive Tyldesley.
Best Co Comms, Dixon/McCoist.
I find all the rest somewhat boring. Non of them inject the same level of excitement into a match like Tyldesley can.

In reply to Post #367 and the sub post.
Watching the Scots in that match was like Man United under LVG, side side back.
They kept getting to the final 3rd then appeared to scared to be countered and just stopped, virtually no overlapping runs on the wings, if indeed there was even a player there to do it.
It's not as if they couldn't have put McTom up front to pose more of a threat.
They didn't chnage their style from get go, the blame lies with the manager, go to go if you ask me.

Nope, that’s what they need when the are playing like that, some hairdryer
I read Southgate has a leadership team, Kane, Bellingham and a couple more, if this is the case then it tells your about their mentality and thinking. Tactically we got pressured and folded and did not have a plan B or C. I worry
He needs to get on the touchline and tell them how it is ffs

In reply to Post #360
Var has been very swift overall, a great improvement, I like that snickometer thing too.
If it can be kept as swift I'd like it to be used when the ref makes a clear and obvious error in all instances, there have been a fair few wrong everything's, throw ins, free kick, a card and corners.
In reply to Post #359 Totally agree atwell is a ****
In reply to Post #357 I think VAR should be used this way...........
If the ref has made a clear and obvious mistake then VAR should overrule it. That shouldn't take long to do.
If it's going to ages then it can't be clear and obvious mistake and so the refs decision is used.
I haven't watched all the matches but from what I can gather VAR decisions have been swift.
In this instance I wonder how long it would've taken if the refs weren't British?
The Netherlands were robbed and that ref was biased, as for the TV commentary you'd think the French were playing each other
Not sure if you guys saw it but on one of the replays as the ball came past the defender both the goalies feet were off the ground. How can his dive be impeded if he physically can't dive, hence just watching it. Any goalie worth there salt would have dived if they could, player there or not
So now all goalies will just stand there when a opposing player is in a offside position, not interfering with play and the ref will side with them, great precedent being set there.
TBF, the refs and var have been pretty good up until then, trust the U.K unit to bring it into Q again!
In reply to Post #356 Cobblers.
The only person impeding the keeper was his team mate stood Infront of him causing him to see the ball late then blame Dumfries. If it was 'offside' then why take so long to come up with that decision? I will agree with the commentators, they are now using VAR to deliberately scratch off goals, it's not being used for its intended purpose. GOAL!
In reply to Post #354 Dissagree. It was offside. Dumphries was in an offside position and impeded the keepers ability to attempt to play the ball (dive for it). Regardless of whether anyone thinks it was saveable or not..... he was stood where the keeper would have to dive to make an attempt to save it. As much as everyone wanted the dutch to win.....it was offside.

Have we been knocked out..must of missed that?
***** performances past two games.
People slowly catching up about Southgate. We have the players, he don't know how to use them.
Trent getting the brunt of it all as usual..he was no worse than the £100m pound player that plys his trade as a midfielder and he's a not a midfielder. Best stats out of the 11 and came off after 55 minutes..go figure.
They have to do better. No leaders at all past two games.
TBH I don't give two hoots about performances, it's results that matter in tournament football.
Happy to watch England play ***** and win 1-0 all the way to the final.

And the comment he made about not having a replacement for kalvin Phillips? Jesus how clueless, there's about 30 better options England have. I think the players have had enough of him as well now.
In reply to Post #346 After watching that, similar thoughts to me mate. Quality players in their respective teams. As an England team utter crap and tactically dog 💩
Look how Spain are playing!
Player for player I think we are superior to them, old premiership / high tempo down the wing mentality. Itdon’t work in international football

Predictable, we should be so much better.
They say teams grow into competitions, I shall try to be positive and say maybe that will happen
It's unreal how bad that display was tonight. Harry kane said after "we didn't know what to do"...sums it up.
As much as I think Kane is a top striker, he's far too deep all the time and he's not quick enough. And don't get me started on foden, I know he hot the post tonight but should of been on the bench from last game. Pretty embarrassing tbh. I missed golf for that 😂
I've had enough, I want England to lose now so Southgate f***s off asap.
In reply to Post #344 It’s interesting pal, shockingly poor to date. I agree about Southgate, I’ve been behind him but he could have had his time now, too defensive, same old and one dimensional sadly, nothing up front, not even a threat. I think against some good teams we might do well if they are organised (ridgid) and attack us, but I am sure we will find out lol
Proper game on ITV now, hoping it’s a cracker
Southgate just hasn't got a clue. He's holding England back.
"We don't have a natural replacement for Kalvin Phillips." What sort of comment was that? Phillips was a traffic cone FFS.
As soon as we come up against a top team we'll get embarrassed.
Game on, the only plus point, I can confirm that they have one of the worst strikers in the world right now
See how good Southgate is now, first half, very poor, far too slow going forward, Kane zero service again ffs. Possession game ain’t working, too slow going forward, get within 30yds they have everybody back and we are ****ing back passing ffs

Personally I thought England looked absolutely brilliant 1st half ( That's high praise from me) 2nd half was a shambles. Watched the matches today, Ukraine never turned up, Romania have learned how to score goals again 🤣
Slovakia, amazing , Belgium....that good.. lol....not!
Well done Slovakia 👌
Thought England were far to casual first half and should have wrapped it up. Foden was a headless chicken. Was good to see Trent where he should be to ping the ball about, shame he didn't though. Jude's a great player but I think he does too much and it affects other players positioning. Should just concentrate on doing simple things well. Connor Gallagher? Really? He's crap. Still, on to the next match against the Danes who will have a point to prove. 🤞
I watched the game in a bar that were giving away shots every time england scored.
After 15 minutes I thought I was going to leave pissed.
Instead I was subjected to a gradual torture.
We should have annihilated them but instead we let them into the game.
Do that against one of the better teams and we're done for.
In reply to Post #335 Foden never turns up for England, eze needs to start and be given a chance. Kane obviously an awesome finisher usually but he's bot fast enough and plays too deep for England so when the counter happens he can't keep up. Bellingham was class last night, enough said. Saka was goof first half and crap the second, Bowen was ok when he came in, and guehi was fine, let's hope it stays like that.
Happy with the England side, Trent in a new position, hope he plays well, only Saka what really worries me, inconsistency, and see how Foden plays, really hope Bellingham pulls the strings. Put those up against anybody to be fair
Edit - Well, at least we got the win and kept a clean sheet
Harry Kane, probably the best finisher in the world right now, on fire with BM, sees **** all of the ball, once chance, nearly a goal, just get it to him ffs
Foden poor, Saka as expected, game of two halves. Bellingham, 20 years old, different class!
Trying to play it down the wings again, straight down the centre and to Kanes feet ffs
When Southgate has gone, I will be taking over

Another really annoying deveopment, the scrapping of FA Cup replays because the darlings on the pitch are so over worked and the schedule is so congested...but FIFA launch the new World Club Cup and they have the time to play in that...although apparently Chelsea and City are arguing about the money apparently...surprise surprise

In reply to Post #324 Jokers, just delete the club already.
Hypocrisy at it's best from these lot.
"Commercial Deals are within the rules" - The rules are now illegal apparently
"We are happy with the democratic ethos of the Premier League decision making"; now they hilariously say it's oppressive.
Investing in City because they cared about regenerating the area;
Spitting the dummy out now. Unless they get their way they will likely stop community funding. Read also they will stop that funding for the women's team also.
Plenty more hilarious quotes from the 115ers out there.
Anyway, enough about those lot.

In reply to Post #316 To be fair Jim, anyone would be a step down after Jurgen.
The new fella has a good reputation for playing fast, attacking, high press football so that's good in terms of the players we have knowing that style.
I can see him bringing in a few changes. Maybe a signing or two in defence and a suitable long term replacement for Salah if the rumours are to be believed.
We've a good squad. Some very good talent emerging. The whole club set up is in a far better place than when klopp took over.
You know me Jim, I'm always looking to be positive.
What's your take on big Ange? I think his press comments are pretty funny sometimes even if the football is a mess

Shame the gooners could get it over the line. Its kind of inevitable these days. Imagine how bad it could've been without klopp - 7 on the bounce? Ffs
They'll go spend another 100 million on a player to replace de bruyne or walker. Sell a couple of kids for 30 million each. Sign a new sponsorship deal with another shell company or something.
They play great football but nobody loves them like they did with pep's Barcelona because of the background stuff.
I'm not bitter of course.
Emotional stuff watching klopp's final game. Not many managers have thar kind of impact - on and off the field.

In reply to Post #302 Mate thank you for that! It was one of the best days of my life yesterday at Wembley, the whole day was magical with my six year old boy and loads of friends and family.
Mental to think we're in the championship again after 25 years. Some grounds I've not been to.
If I was a Bolton fan I'd be spewing with their performance.

In reply to Post #309 Yes do that.

In reply to Post #308 Well I will try and get back for the pre season 👍

In reply to Post #307 Yeah when you press submit there's a delay, be patient and don't press it again.
It's being looked into.
Not seen TentShaker for donkeys. Not surprised though he was always all mouth and no trousers.
Magoo's care home is in Jaywick so the sea air will do him good.
Ralphy only comes on when we lose.
Still it's not all bad, at least what's left of us know what we are talking about

In reply to Post #304 What about Bivviewrecker does he come on here … Magoo is in an old folks home now, he has had dementia since he was a teenager 😂
We just gone 2 up which pretty much secured the UEFA league spot and puts the chavs in the conference cup
In reply to Post #303 You need to pop in more often Jim, but you being a Spud it's understandable that you don't.
Not seen Magoo for ages either, his team are currently being battered by the Breachers.
Edit
My team has just gone 0-1 down.
still the same old farts on here then ( Ralphy, Tinhead Mal.)😂
Haven’t been on forum for ages, never seem to find the time since I started my only fans web page 😂😂😂.
Last day of season then and a two horse race for the title and the Uefa league place all that matters.
In reply to Post #301 Both the Breachers and the Arse have had great run ins and both will have good wins tomorrow.
It's the moments when you look back, when points were dropped that made the difference.
Well done JackWhitstable's team

Been watching the league 1 playoff final
Oxford playing some nice football and a couple of good goals.
Can't see city bottling it tomorrow. Much as it would be good to see another team win the league. I guess you need klopp in charge to do that eh?
Joking aside, it's all a bit underwhelming if city win a 4th title and it shouldn't be. We should be raving about the huge achievement but all the other stuff takes the edge off it.
Instead, I'm hoping for Alonso to win 2 more games with leverkusen. An amazing season already and potentially the best ever?

In reply to Post #299 Good first half performance by the Spuds then it went all Spursy.
Can't see the Spammers doing anything part from losing 5-0 so congrats to the Breachers
In reply to Post #298 They were doing well but then they went all Spursy
In reply to Post #297
Looks like I'll be supporting the Spuds more than their own fans.
I think it's about time that Spursy should be added to the Oxford English Dictionary

In reply to Post #295 ***** again mate !!

Well there it is. The Spuds HAVE to beat City to qualify for UCL.
I disagree totally with Ange though, "100% of fans will be behind Spurs", Sorry Ange, i dont think you really understand North London Rivalry. Most spuds will be supporting City tomorrow.

Bayern’s first trophyless season since 2012.
What a fitting way to mark the occasion…
In reply to Post #290 I'm a Scouse fan tomorrow.
They need to give Villa a damp good thrashing in the hope the Spuds make an effort to try and get 4th when they play the Wallets.
Problem is using hope and Spuds in the same sentence never bodes well

In reply to Post #293 The difference will be the amount of money "donated" to the premier league officials at the FA.

In reply to Post #289 Alright tinhead
Thanks for the heads up
I'm an arsenal supporter for the rest of the league games now.
And a city supporter for the fa Cup final of course
Spuds looked a mess against us - and we were far from perfect. But at least there was a bit of pace and forward thinking. Elliot is key for that. Mac Allister is a great technical player but he's still dwelling on the ball in the middle of the field too much.
Nice to see united fully implode last night.
That lad Olise would look good in a Liverpool shirt next season
In reply to Post #288 Hello Ralphy hope you are well
To be honest I was hoping the Spuds would go on a good run so when they meet the Wallets they could snatch a draw but the way they are at the moment they'll get another drubbing.

I see Ralphy has been on carpforum but not on this thread.
I wonder why

Another dire first half from us today west ham not much better .Salah arguing with klopp i would have left him on bench his days at anfield are done .
In reply to Post #284 I hope you're right. Problem is the Wallets will do the same as they have the easier run in.

In reply to Post #283 I can

In reply to Post #282 I reckon outside London most would prefer the Arse to win the PL, can't have those Wallets winning it year after year.
I need Brighton to do a Everton.
Problem is I can't say us winning every single game until the end.
Well now that weve gone and fooked it !!!! up the Arse

In reply to Post #276 He does destroy teams with his crossing and freekicks
It's quite clear now that Trent is not a defender. He is a great winger that can defend a bit. Liverpool and England should take advantage of that. It pains me to say it because he's a scouser but, if the responsibility of defending was lifted from his shoulders, he could destroy teams with his crossing and free kicks.
In reply to Post #272 Good change by Klop, had them running Arsenal’s riight wing in the second half, same tactic though, sit behind the ball, play it long and 3 chase it, not good on the eye but it works for him
Saka, utter *****, great on and with the ball, cannot finish, how many missed chances and spilling the ball. Martinelli, didn’t offer much, I thought there best player was the fair haired lad. Same as though, don’t matter how good you are on the ball it has to go in the net, nearly as bad a watching UTD that attacking line yesterday, embarrassing
Two world class player the scoucers for me, Salah and Trent, instrumental at putting some great balls in to attack

In reply to Post #268 This aged well...
Arsenal true to form. If they had a goalscorer we'd have been out of it by half time. Second half a different story.
Trent a class apart again. Thought he'd pulled something against martinelli for a moment. Martinelli maybe the biggest drop in quality for arsenal in ages. Two seasons ago I'd have sold my nan to get him at anfield. Recently I'd keep her and play her in his place - and she's been dead for years, god bless her.
All those people talking about saka and salah in the same bracket need their head looking at.
Hoping for an easier draw in the next round

I'm not going to argue with you lot as you are all right.

17 shots on target and Arsenal still can't score. Hahahahahahahha useless ****s.

Salah - even with the penalty miss - was brilliant. Credit to Isak for his goal. He's a bit lethal.

Shut up manc
So united sold Elanga for 15million. Bought antony for 81milllion.
Antony gets hooked today after 21 games without a goal or assist.
Elanga (4 goals and 6 assists in his last 21 games for Forest) leads the Forest break and crosses to Gibbs-White who scores the winner.
Brilliant transfer strategy.
It just highlights how rubbish ten hag is as a coach. He's as much tactical and motivational acumen as my spare wheel

It was the same a few years back wasn't it? They passed the ball better than anyone in the league but couldn't decide when to shoot.
Not that I'm complaining about it today though. 😁

Arsenal set a new record tonight. The most touches in the opposition’s box without scoring.
Says it all really.
We need to buy someone who can score goals.
Oh well at least the Spuds lost.

In reply to Post #248 And Hojlund finally scores!!!
VERY good result against a form Villa that. 3 goals, still struggling for consistency, hope he leaves Rashford on the wing and Martial out but more importantly I hope it gives Garnacho and Hojlund the start and bit of confidence they need

We've struggled to break teams down this season so it was no surprise to me that it turned into that type of game
United were never going to come and play an open game after last season were they?
As for the bus. Unfortunately every club has its tiny minority of idiots. Not real fans and not really representative of the majority. ********s who deserve to be banned if the club identify them

The expectation is that city are just finding ways to buy themselves out of trouble. 115 charges to Everton's 1.
It's farcical really. They should just take the points off city across all the seasons they broke the rules... that seems fair to me. 😉
I can't see the appeal from the relegated clubs going far as from what I've seen the money seems to be all linked to the new stadium build and naming rights etc. So no real 'on field' advantage.

We've had two ropey performances on the trot now. If this continues people will be calling us the new man utd (who of course are the new chelsea). Although the result against toulouse still left us top, rather than bottom of our group and in the wider context of it all Diaz's dad was released so a good day regardless.
Better do better this weekend though as nobody wants city to pull away this early

I saw utd v newcastle . Something really wrong as we all know. But one thing stands out a mile is the attitude of the players . Fernandes, anthony are narky fookers a pair of faces you,d just want to slap.rashford lost interest last season, hannibal just mental , maguire was upto his usual last night running into people hes as much vision as stevie wonder. They have a few easy games coming , fulham ,copenhagen . These are tin hats players so i dont think he will survive if he does,nt win them.

But seriously around here we have people telling tradesmen to ditch their vans and operate from a cargo bike, then you get others who say they would deliberately hire people who use cargo bikes
Anyway, I should know better, this is the footy thread and i apologise for going off topic.
As for Manure what a let down, seeing it was the Manc derby I thought they'd give it a go and get a draw. Tossers

See tinhead - the train. Much more environmentally friendly than me driving him all the way to Leicester and then back by myself ... Greta would approve
Did you watch today scozza? Embarrassing all round. I don't know how Ten Hag has managed to make a team who finished top 4 last season so bloody awful in a few months.

In reply to Post #142 You may have hit on the problem in there scozza
Martial - and probably rashford- would be knocking the goals in if they went to another team....
So maybe the problem isn't with them.
United is, and has been, a mess for ages now. They get a good cup run or get lucky in the league when other teams have a crap season (yes that's us last year) but they are a loooong way from what they were.
The new players look average at best. And it's only down to dodgy refereeing and var that they as high in the table as 8th.
I think the best option for all is that they just shut it down, turn old Trafford into an aldi and you can all support Norwich to save money on new scarves
And
RIP Bobby 🙏

UTD, ****
Now relying on SMT to score goals ffs
Rashford, 9 games, 1 goal
Martial, 7 games, 0 goals
Sancho, who?
They could replace them with a ****ing cactus. Martial out, and if they did I bet he would be banging them in left, right and centre ffs, lots of chances, can’t hit a ****ing barn door, again, another season!
How long does he back them for, cost OGS, get the ****s out, said it before, Rashford is another Welbeck ffs
Unlucky Sheffield U, deserved the draw

Crisis at UTD, Sancho not training with the first team as punishment, it ain’t working, I fear TH could be on his way out, I wouldn’t give Sancho a ****ing shirt at the moment
The only way that team is going back to the top is to get rid of all the front line and get some proper strikers in

Arsenal scored again.

In reply to Post #82 No idea why he took Tonali off. He was having a great game.
It could have been in response to Liverpool energy levels increasing maybe.
Obviously he took Gordon off because he's an ugly little ****. 😀
I was actually glad when he took him off to be fair. You could see that he'd gotten under Trent's skin.
Bruno could've had 3 yellows for niggly kicks just after the ball was passed. He's better than that.
Have you seen the two 'sshhhhh' photos? Very funny 😁
Scozza - you're embarrassing yourself again...

In reply to Post #80 It did make me laugh when Lineker said that Everton were 'point less' after 3 games...
We've known that for years
And scozza - luck has nothing to do with it. Good game management, tactical awareness and positive substitutions. Isak - one of Newcastle's best players - after the sending off... pocketed by gomez and matip. The commentator only said his name again when he was being subbed.
That's not luck.
A soft penalty to come back against forest.... that's lucky....

They were two great finishes.
I'm as surprised as I am delighted as the 1st half was a car crash fir us (apart from alisson again). Trent looked terrified to make a challenge after the booking and let off.
Told you Gordon was a little **** didn't I?
It was telling that your subs felt very much second rate (Wilson excepted) whereas ours were game changers

Just watched the west ham v Chelsea game.
Hard not to chuckle when caicedo comes on and his main contribution is giving away a penalty
The sending off makes a mockery of mac allisters yesterday. The west ham lad went for a second yellow with a tackle that was ten times worse than mac's straight red...

In reply to Post #70 Rashford is the only one who will get you regular goals in that team
Sancho was supposed to be the next Ronaldo and instead he's the new Juan Veron - brilliant until he got to united and then completely forgot how to play football
City just got another win. Phil foden played really well again. Haaland blanked. He's past it. One season wonder. They should get rid now before the transfer window closes....

A deserved win for the spuds
There were chances but UTD can’t finish for toffee and this s a REAL concern for me, no different to the last few seasons, Rashford and the rest of them want ****ing off sharpish, another Danny Wellbeck, looks the part but never will be. I would love to know Fergies true thoughts, Sancho, ****ing rubbish and that’s under another system, grrrrrr

He was a little brat at Everton.
Eddie howe knows how to manage players because he cut his teeth at clubs with less money to spend so man management and working on improving what he had was vital. I'm definitely getting behind your lot for the champions league this year. I've fond memories of being in the crowd up there back in 2003 when I was working in the area and was taken along by a geordie colleague.
Anyway - kick off at anfield... here's to a win for my boys

Be a great transfer window for us if we get lewis hall from chelsea. He has stacks of potential and under howes guidance will be a superb signing. Looking like a loan deal with obligation to buy due to ffp. We are building a very good young squad for the future and have signed some brilliant youngsters with bags of potential. Assigning dan ashworth as director of football could be one of our best signings. We are getting city at just the right time tomorrow, hopefully there still shattered from there mid week cup victory.

In reply to Post #51 Well, watched the UTD game, unorganised chaos but some how managed to get the win.
Saying that Wolves were ugly, 7 or 8 behind the ball all the time, they will give anybody a frustrating game by the looks of it, had a couple of chances though too
I see TH said in public McGuire has to play for his spot or he is out lol, missed a few others too!
Looks like we are still going to struggle for goals again, I just can’t see anybody in that team being Mr. Consistent, hope I’m wrong!

In reply to Post #50 We should have put the game to bed early on as we were very much on top. The disallowed salah goal woke them up a bit.
They already look better than the mess of last season. Fernandez had a good game and thiago silva at 38 was the best player on the field for me.
From our point of view, gakpo in midfield didn't work. We always find 3-5-2 hard to play against and he was just getting bypassed.
A point away at Chelsea isn't the worst start.
They'll get caicedo and I think lavia will come to Liverpool. Both for more money than they should but its a sellers market.
We need another defender and I really wish they would go for thuram as well
Edit - looks like lavia is going to Chelsea too... that'll teach us for dithering. Still would rather Thuram.

That’s a result for Potty in his first game, looks like they are getting the Brighton lad, Caicedo's, too

Just watched the we are Newcastle documentary on prime and its a very good watch. Obviously I'm biased being from Newcastle but the new owners seem to have a good vision for the future of the club and we seem to be in very good hands, especially after the ashley years. Think we might struggle for top 4 though with all the champion league games but would still be happy with top 6. Tough game tomorrow against villa.

In reply to Post #46 Let's face it holding up the Charity shield and claiming it as silverware can't be taken too seriously.

In reply to Post #43 Don't exaggerate Mal. The Arse have only really shown any real intent once in the last 10 years.

In reply to Post #38 You realise that arsenal have made that same statement of intent 5 times in the last 10 seasons...?
Just saying...
Looking forward to the season starting.
I think Rice will do well at arsenal
Chelsea might need a bit of settling down time after the mess of last season
United will realise that just buying someone whose name sounds like Haaland isn't a sound transfer policy
Newcastle will continue to do well
Spuds will collapse
My lot will be better than last year. And Nunez will start to look like a striker again.
And city will look like it was a mistake letting mahrez and gundogan leave.... for a bit. Then they'll just click again.

Mahrez is brilliant. City - even though they're a machine - will miss him and gundogan.
We'll miss Henderson too. I still believe that stevie's slip wasn't what cost us the title as much as Henderson being out for those few matches.
The ffp thing - tinhead is right. No point giving monetary fines to the clubs who can spend 600million in one transfer window.
In reply to Post #28 Those fines are peanuts especially the Chavs. No deterrent at all, if anything it's a bargain price to pay to be able to spend £100's millions.
As for Juventus I don't suppose they are bothered about being kicked out of the Euro Conf, if it were CL then EUFA would probably would've bottled it.

In reply to Post #11 Pretty much exactly as I expected ...

Not the show that I expected. Have to say Inter had their chances but what a winner from Roderi!

**** me, anybody watch the pre match commentary. Peps tactics out there. “Halland” your job is to score goals, KDB, Grealsih and B Silva will chase the ball
In other words thats Xavi, Inniesta and Messi lol. Win or lose what a system and what a pleasure to watch lol, attack, ****s

In reply to Post #4 Gets me thinking about those couple of times we lost out to them by a point or two...
I think I'd like them to win to shut the United fans up a bit
Let's face it, none of them are as good as the 60's Celtic though are they?

In reply to Post #3 I suppose we should support British teams but part of me wants them to lose and see the look on Pep's face and the dodgy
Man City have been charged with breaking the Premier League's financial fair play rules around 100 times over a nine-year period,
Nothing to do with my team bottling it at the end

In reply to Post #2 Time to lock this thread then...
I think it'll be a frustrating watch tonight. City will of course have all the possession and look like scoring, but Inter always know how to defend deep.
1 - 0 to city anyone?
