Used to use korda did well on it had fish to over 35lb but I found it too supple and it had a tendency to granny knot itself on the retrieve. Switched to the TA stuff and not had an issue with it. Slightly bit stiffer which stops the issues I was having with the korda stuff.

Stroft GTM is good, it's my favourite mono line for topwater lure fishing because it has quite a bit of stretch. For zigs I personally use Stroft LS which has way less stretch than GTM.

I saw an interview with Frank Warwick where he said he was tipped off about some european mono thats great for zig hooklengths, it's called stroft gtm, I think it's aimed for european match anglers but goes up to 16lb bs I think, I've been using it the last year and it's been sound, very translucent and pretty cheap off ebay

PB control 11lb or Pro Gold 10/12lb

Not keen on the double strength type pre stretched hooklinks -they are too brittle for me.

10lb big game in green for zigs.
12lb drennan double strength fly leader (very slight green tint) for floater fishing for bigger fish.
You must tie the swivel with a palomar knot.

I just use 12lb mainline and pull all of the stretch out of it..it works fine for me! I usually fish my zigs with a pop up on a size 4 choddy too..so don't require any specific zig tackle.

Have a look at Preston Reflo the two heaviest breaking strains, 0.24mm 11lb and 0.26mm 12lb 5oz.

I use them for floater and Zig fishing.

Yeah I'm using the fox one at the minute.

Haven't used it for a few years and when I got it out the tackle box to tie a rig up I couldn't help but think it didn't look upto the job.

Would be interested to hear peoples opinions on using normal 12lb mainline or if this dedicated zig line is worth it.

Used to use the Fox Zig & Floater hooklink was ok but I've recently started to use Thinking anglers zfx Zig and Floater link in 11lb early days but so far so good 👍
