The same happened to a lake I fish in Austria , they put a net out in the winter months when no one was fishing the lake , the net was found however with various 20 kg fish in and some smaller ones . They came back for a second go but this time they were caught in the act and carted of to the local police station. Unfortunately for the poachers the club that run this lake is run by current and retired police , so they showed them no mercy. They were after the prise possession Erna a 42.5kg common.

It is with deep regret that I have to post this thread Nanpantan Reservoir the place I have jointly run for over 20 years has been poached by scumbags using Gill Nets . Anyone using these things have no consideration for fish wildlife or much else we care so passionately for . On Wednesday morning we noticed something strange out in the water at first we thought it was a dead or injured duck . On closer inspection we were horrified to find a ball of fish obviously . The net had obviously been in the water for a long time as some fish had already started to decay so we assumed the net had broken away from its anchor point and had been drifting around . When it was brought to the bank it had a lot of fish tangled up in it Around 10 Carp to over 20lb bream, roach ,peach and pike . The police Severn Trent and the Environment Agency were called and came to the reservoir within the hour. This is a big blow to us as we run the reservoir as a none profit venue we have also raised thousands of pounds over the years for children's charities as many members on here will know . We don't know if this is the first attempt at poaching or what stock we have in
Place as winter catch reports are slow anyway hopefully this was the only and last time these scumbags tread our banks 😡😡😡😡
