YEP. About 10 years if you have just joined the end of the waiting list, based on the current & average rate of non renewals.

"The officers and committee of DDAPS are very pleased to announce that as from 1st April 2024 they will control the fishing on the lakes at Sundridge, formerly known as Spicers. The two lake complex covers approximately 35 acres. The lakes have been very well run and maintained as a syndicate by the previous owners. The venue contains a good head of quality Roach, Bream to 15lb, large Tench, Carp in excess of 40lb.
It has also produced pike just shy of the 40lb mark.
As their season has already started, the existing syndicate will have exclusive use of lakes until 1st April 2024.
This historic venue will make an amazing addition to the DDAPS portfolio"

Longshot but was there an Asian angler called Rav that fished there, he had his own IT/computer business.

I wonder what he's up to now.

There’s 2 lakes there. The one that you can’t see from the recycling centre is smaller and right by the slip road to the M25 and visible as you drive down it.

I fished them a bit about 25 years ago when they were Holmesdale and then New Studio. Nice lakes with a good stock but nothing large. In the summer lots would get caught on floaters. As you’d expect from that part of the valley the big lake is deep - I am guessing 30 feet but it was a long time ago. I used to like the shallows around the islands in the summer, “proper fishing” with islands, bars and in catapult range!

The small lake was much shallower but fished well all year. Both had lots of pike, with rumours of a big one from when it was a trout fishery when Geoffrey Bucknall (I think???) ran it. I never had any big pike, just a lot of jacks.

The river was full of roach and good chub, as you’d expect for that area.

It’s hard to get into but I don’t think it’s a closed shop. I know people who have been offered a ticket.

Apparently Bobby Zamora is a member so try being nice to Ali
