In reply to Post #12 higher the better
I havent use the the new light yet I was using the earlier bigger square version but with a swivel tilt adapter that raises it up and allowed me to angle it down like this one but as the new light swivels Im going to try some tests shots with and without the adapters increased height to see what effect it has

In reply to Post #11 Gerry how far above the phone does the light need to be?

In reply to Post #4 yes got a few like that
but seems you and others are missing the whole point of the post
this was intended
solely for people that
A ...wanted to take pictures in portrait mode OR USE A TABLET
B......and more importantly !!!!! ..... wanted the LIGHT ABOVE THE CAMERA so you can tilt DOWN to avoid shadows
as I said Ive tried lots including a mini buzzbar camera on one end light on other the light on the side for me was no where near anything like as good as when its above tilting down
and I have ponced about with a separate bank stick and a nightmare it was with the rock filled river banks where I fish are a nightmare trying to get any pegs or banksticks in

In reply to Post #7 yeah that looks decent, just worried maybe the trakker light will be too bright, I might just take a punt though.

In reply to Post #3 Look on Amazon at the Ulanzi PT-9 brack mount it allows you to have a camera or phone mount and a Ulanzi camera light on the same bracket mount the bracket will screw onto the tripod screw thread or if you u a Gardner camera adaptor screw thread sadly I can't do links

I can only see a phone mount, where does the light go? I have the trakker light, at the moment I take two long bank sticks which is a bit of a ball ache. Would like to simplify
EDIT: watched the video in the link and it's not quite right for me, I like to have the phone in landscape mode and my light has a little female thread in the base.

over the years mainly fishing solo that TBH I much prefer I concentrate think more and try harder etc
so taking trophy shots Ive done the lot from a kodak film cameras and SLRs to digital equivalents and compacts and bridge cameras and compacts and now
I use a Samsung S9+ and gives me exactly what I want big smile ! the days of printing A4 size pics for me are over long ago
when I got rid of my darkroom I really dont need the definition of seeing a whisker on a nats bollock lol as the picture is mainly viewed on a PC or mob phone screen lets be real here FFS ?
I have tried lots of different mounts but what I was looking for was a SOLID mount that would hold my phone upright and for the LIGHT TO BE ABOVE the camera tilting slightly down to eliminate shadows
and found one its Aluminium and has a cold shoe on top that my swiveling light ((Ulanzi Vijim VL66 Adjustable LED Video Light )) can angle down it can even take a ipad it truly is the nuts IMHO I bought it couple of years ago its been fantastic got it from Aliexpress LINKY POO YOU GET WOT YOU PAY FOR
