Looking at his catch rate I would quite happily use whatever bait he uses!

He is often on their FB page, catches plenty from everywhere on 5 star as you know

I used fix mix up until about 7 or 8 years ago and did very, very well on it. Something changed although in not sure what

A young lad that fishes my lake got a bait deal with them last year and couldn't buy a bite for a few months. Went bk onto his old bait and started catching consistently again

It's a shame really because they are very local to me and i had so much confidence in their bait. I dont even know who owns/runs it now

Also bear in mind that the current owners are not the original owners. Friend of mine used the fish mix in the past, was one of their testers, did very well on it. He talked to me this year about now rolling his own as the bait had changed a fair bit. But that seems to be a common pattern now.

I've used the bait, thought it was pretty rubbish to be honest. Cheaply put together in my opinion.

You got really defensive over a bait you've apparently never even used when someone quoted something directly from the company website. That's normally a red flag.

Just saying why you have been questioned chap, no need to get defensive again.

I've never used the Cell, I've heard it's not bad but if anyone asks I'll say nothing because I've never used it have I

im not knocking you, but to start a thread recommending a bait you dont use "could" come across as you have a connection

Could have put it in the discounts thread if it was just a bargain.

Couldn't afford to work in the Carp trade, I'd need 3 different jobs in it to make it worth getting out of bed

I can see why people dont bother replying half the time, you point out a good offer that may suit some and you get one of the usual clowns jumping in, we both know he has form

Everybody has different levels of ability when it comes to reading and understanding what's been said.

I think post 16 said enough dont you?

You have been pretty defensive about this lot chap, and that usually means the person being defensive is in some way involved with the company. Not saying that you are , just clarifying why it looks that way. It happens a lot on here , either that or people recommending a brand for all posts and then it comes out they work for them, are sponsored by them, or "part of the team" getting discounts from them.

Read what I wrote, at no point prior to post 3 did I say I used the bait, fact. Again in post 5 i dont state i've used it but it appears decent based on what I know, that's what forums are for

I made the post because it might interest some, if the bait was crap I wouldn't of posted.

I asked what he wanted to know because I might of been able to answer based on what I'd seen and heard from friends and the companies website, that's what forums are about!!
My friends have used it for over 5 years and have had 40's and 50's on a water I've fished, they've been consistent for years

You will also note in the bait section a post i made about offers on Essential, used it for years still do, what do you want to know?

To be fair to Boycie, you ve started a thread on a bait you don't use and then given the impression you do use it by replying to someone "what do you want to know", but your only going on what your mates that do use it have said

i can see where Boycie is coming from

Can assure you I'm not, been on B5 for a decade or more but know a few lads who use it and do well so at those prices it's worth a bit of extra research.

To only post about over sprayed or dipped pop-up's appears on the surface to say that's all they do when in fact they do a match the hatch for the bait range made the traditional way. As a businessman myself it's annoying when you see stuff on the web that is either false or half truth's, I was adding balance based on what their website says.

Don't let that stop you jumping in with nothing to add as always though Boycie

Don’t know why you are getting so defensive? They literally state on their website the pop up’s are flavoured with the flavour before dispatch. I’ve even copy and pasted what they have put on their website. To me that reads they have pots of plain pop up’s and are just flavoured with liquid once ordered. Whether that’s a good thing or not is down to each individual on what they want/expect

Each pot will be flavoured with your chosen liquid before dispatch for maximum absorption. Shake the pot regularly to re-energise.

They dont overspray anything, as for adding a flavor to a base pop-up, you mean like the Korda mob have been doing with Goo for years now? Massive Red flag that

I've read all that, the pop up's that match the bait is made with matching ingredients, "key ingredients in both powder and liquid form"

The custom pop-up's are made with the same mix minus a few bits, replaced with a liquid soak of your choice.

Personally I couldn't give a monkey's about that, anyone who see's that as an issue is thinking to deeply. I'd go for match the hatch anyway so it's irrelevant to me.

On their website.

It sounds like they have a standard pop up and just flavour it with liquid before dispatch

Any more reviews on the bait?. I like the price but a company that over sprays pop ups is a bit of a red flag for me.

There's a thread from 2019 on here about them with a few good reviews. I rang them up last year asking a few questions and I was after some samples, in the end, I ended up buying 1Kg (+P&P) and he sent me a Kg of each of his baits. They were decent baits, good quality.

Didn't actually use them in the end, like I say, was only after samples and decided to go with Poachers Baits in the end. But they will definitely catch fish. And at £4/kg, I'm tempted myself to get a few kilos of shelfies in to just to keep in the back of the van.

Decent, been around quite a long time, that tells a story on it's own. Used Essential for a long time and in my opinion the 5* baits ive looked at are on a par, seen them catch a lot of big fish too.

At those prices you can get a few KG of each, have a look and not be really out of pocket if they dont float your boat.

£4 a KG for a well known bait, excellent value for money right there, pop-ups £4 a pot too
