Does anyone have a contact for Gemini? I have emailed Wesley & Chris a few times but no reply.

In reply to Post #23 Yes. 45lb braid and lock up. Loads of pressure to stop an upper 30 getting in a snag. Fish was fine, mainline was fine, just the pressure on the weakest link was the fused part of the boom. The fused part wedged in the micro ring and fish was landed.

In reply to Post #23 Posted this last year
Was playing a fish which I thought at first it had come off
When I reeled in all that was left was the tungsten sleeve.
On inspection of the sleeve the two halves of the fused ferrule were still in the sleeve
I decided to check the other Gemini booms and using two line hook pullers without any real tension 4 out off the eleven I had, snapped at the ferrule = definitely a lot less that the 30 lb stated
Now all booms are in the bin -
Yes I could contact Gemini - yes it could be a bad batch - but even if they were replaced I no longer have any confidence in them
Only posting this for others to check any they have
Gutted at not only loosing the fish but also the fish now has a hook, ronnie and boom to deal with
Update
I purchased some of the new Gardner fused booms with the mugga hooks
Had a couple of sessions using them, went to re bait one and the fused ferrules had broken apart. Now they are also in the bin
Still to find a fused boom that I have total confidence in,
Not trying to upset anyone, this is only my own experiences and opinions

In reply to Post #21 Are you saying you had the fused joints go with a fish on?

In reply to Post #21 Do they make different lengths to order?

In reply to Post #1 Been using for number of years now. Either German or the small ring. Had a few come unused but it's snag type fishing and a lot of pressure on them so something has to give on occasions. But, saying that the last 2 that did it were both the 5.5 with tight little rings and the fused bit locked into the ring and both fish landed.
I'm just about to ask for them to make up some 4.5" with tight rig links.
I use the korda stiff link tubes with the shot weights and tail beads all in place ready to go.

In reply to Post #5 Once you tie your loops get some 1mm shrink tube over the knots. Just as neat and can make them how you like with decent PTFE swivels

In reply to Post #18 Had fish to over 70lb on the Ronnie booms with no dramas at all

Just took delivery of the heli leaders - potentially a stupid question but thought i'd ask - is it ok to steam these straight?

In reply to Post #1 Put an order in, waited 5/6 weeks, was told it was sent, was ‘resent’ after I confirmed address. Still never turned up. Got bored. Got money back.

the swivels on them are poor quality, ive used the German booms the last couple of sessions, 2 of the booms the bend on the swivels that the hook slides over have been bent badly out of position after a fish, only upper doubles too

Very good quality stuff from Gemini
Have used their leaders and booms pretty much exclusively for the last 3-4 years maybe. I think I’ve had one loop in a leader go and one boom loop go, which although not ideal I can swallow that for the amount of time I’ve used them.
I find they disappear really well once in the water

In reply to Post #7 I’ve been using the booms for stiff hinges for a while . Very neat

In reply to Post #1 I use the stems for bag fishing. Good reliable bit of kit.

In reply to Post #5 Admittedly not as neat, but when you pull the amnesia really tight the knot beds down so well it's more than neat enough to fool the fish

In reply to Post #4 I won't be able to do that super neat fuse.. I guess you need a special machine for that..

Make some from 20lb clear amnesia, or 30 if you want it stiffer.

I just received a little brochure for these, they look really good and not very expensive considering they should last a long time..
Is fused fluorocarbon a really good join, I can't see them breaking but maybe someone has used them already?
