In reply to Post #81 U tube if you dont have a podcast app.

Where can i find these podcasts? had a quick scan of the thread and wasn't able to ascertain where they were
In reply to Post #78 I wondered about this too - got spooked by the fall out from the whole hormone 'debate' maybe & didn't want to risk the potential costs associated with the litigation that was threatened?
In reply to Post #78 No problem at all...
Sam is landed gentry ...moved up country now..
In reply to Post #77 Next time you chat to him Adam. Ask him what he's done with him? He seemed to disappear overnight. Very strange.. .
Always thought Sam sounded the posher out the two anyway.
I sold my barrow to Pete , I said it's done some miles....
I still chat to Sam in and out ..
In reply to Post #75 What ever did happen to Posh Pete? He seemed to disappear of the pod with out so much as a buy or leave.. very Strange..
Carp Chronicles is (for me) by a country mile the best carp fishing podcast out there, and some.
Sam's knowledge, attention to detail and delivery is superb.
His guests are pretty much top of the tree too.
His Christmas ramblings with his best friend Pete have me in absolute stitches how they both lay into eachother with banter and recollections of past trips and catches.
And their chats about their tipples I find just hilarious.

new episode out this week. another very good listen.
really good to hear sam's dulcet tones again.
In reply to Post #72 I guess it's
1. Bait, without one there's nothing for a fish to eat
2. Rig with a hook, without one you won't catch a thing
3. Where you put said bait and rig is EVERYTHING for me, on tricky waters especially (spot fishing)
As for podcasts, like most things, variety is the spice of life for me
In reply to Post #67 Agreed, I guess it is all about confidence. One man is confident in sticking out 5kg of boilies whereby others would be more confident sticking out 5kg of particle.
I'm more the latter. Controversial maybe, but I don't think there is a boilie on the market that can replicate the effectiveness of a 7 day old bucket of Maize & Hemp in the right spot
1) Location
2) Timing
3) Bait
4) Rigs
Off topic now, but I wonder often which out of the last two is more important. Depends on the top two I guess, but if I had the choice of listening to a bait or rig podcast, bait would win hands down.
In reply to Post #70 You have a good point there, the others do appear to be story based rather than bait/technically minded.
In reply to Post #65 But some people do make their own bait, and some people do want to hear other peoples theories. I'm one of them, and the activity in the bait forum (good or bad) shows that their are plenty more. Lots of more holistic carp podcasts out there but for the geeks it's good to have a more niche platform for other geeks to discuss.
In reply to Post #68 Bait s everything, buts it's ALL about the fish
Sweetcorn, peanuts and maggots all seem to go against many bait makers theories.
In reply to Post #65 Tend to disagree there Aidey
Bait is everything
It might not tick everybody's boxes and a bit of variation is they key for me. The topic is endless, as are people's own personal theory's, which I like to hear. The A-Z of bait ingredients would be a good idea for starters for me
Probably right though, I bet for 80% of anglers bait is just round balls that comes in a plastic bag 🎱
In reply to Post #61 Just a quicky , is protein content a blind ally, isn't it all about what thay can get from a bait before thay have a poo
In reply to Post #57 What percentage of anglers make their own baits? Very very minimal. A bait podcast it would just be the same subjects week in week out. Most anglers just want a bait that works, not listen to theories about stuff that isn't in any of the bait they use, or in any bait in fact. Nor would they want three hours of "we found this, can't tell you what it is though. It's Top notch, secret squirrel stuff, but you can only find out how good it is if you buy XYZ bait"
Angler catches **** all, blames the bait and the cycle continues. It's why there are literally hundreds of bait companies, because there is no one magic bait. It's as simple as that.
In reply to Post #63 baits based on results and not theories
Careful what you are saying, this is close to the bait thread you know, could cause an uproar
Theory is one thing, the results are everything, for me anyway
Did I hear correctly? I thought I heard Jason Ryder say he never calculated the protein content of his baits or the amino acid percentages. Surprised me.
In reply to Post #59 oh blimmey....
In reply to Post #58 Mark from specialized hookbaits would, I'm sure, make an interesting guest. He always seems to look at things with a questioning mind and causes much thought and debate.
In reply to Post #56 The most controversial subject in angling
In reply to Post #56 If you're interested in bait making surely that is a good thing?
In reply to Post #55 But on the flip side, you run the risk of it being just a platform for people to discuss bait theories.
I would rather listen (and talk) to under the radar bait people than those commercially involved.
In reply to Post #40 Dave Moore and Paul Fowler would be very interesting.......
Dave did a little facebook video a few months back on Rollin Baits doing a Q&A session.
Paul is very much under the radar quietly turning out established baits

In reply to Post #52 Yup. Not as bad as Croydon tho 💩

In reply to Post #47 Ramsgate lol
That's the old Premier baits one, London, New York, Paris and... Ramsgate

In reply to Post #46 I'm a Kent boy 😂
It's just the surf in Devon is a bit better than Joss Bay/Ramsgate lol. Just need to transport Fordwich down here.....

In reply to Post #44 Would be good. But most of us Kent boys are still a bit secret squirrel...

In reply to Post #42 Geoff Bowers. Local legend and bait buff. Would be great to reminisce about the 80's fishmeal explosion
Come on Ken the people have spoken. You need to be doing Sam and Pete's podcast..
In reply to Post #1 The local legends concept sounds good (albeit a cheesy name). Plenty in Kent to choose from, plenty of which I looked up to as a kid and are still doing it 30 years later. Many could give an interesting account of how Redmire made it's mark in Kent, plus the KRB stockings. I'm a bit disappointed Chris Ball didn't touch on that another podcast.
It's underappreciated now, considering in another 20 years or so we'll be looking at many lakes having the same strain of fish.
If anyone personally knows the likes of Dave Moore, Paul Fowler etc please feel free to put a word in.
It's a lot harder than you think to get guests on, most people are either un-contactable or not interested!
In reply to Post #37 Dave Moore would be an interesting one too!
In reply to Post #37 Great stuff mate.
As I said, Paul Fowler would be a very interesting guest. His views on bait construction would be intriguing.
Thanks for the suggestions fellas.
I think we might be getting Marcus W on at some point
There's a few people on the forum who would make great guests, one of them has even commented on this thread (HINT HINT Ken! )
Sam... Try get Markus Watts, Spencer Butler or Paul Fowler on. Would be epic one of those fellas!
In reply to Post #31 Well Pete had better pull his finger out...you have fans you know
I love that these podcasts aren't filmed. Lots of the other "podcasts" have just turned into people being interviewed on camera, and when you listen to only the audio, the way a podcast should be, when driving etc, things get lost as you have no idea what they are talking about without seeing it.
In reply to Post #31 What about Pete (Smurf) as a guest to talk about his forum baits Sam?
In reply to Post #31 Jason can catch carp from a puddle or the ocean. He's a once in a life time bait genius.
If Pete pulls his finger out and gets editing we have a new episode with Jason coming out on the weekend.
It's a bit more of a casual chat but if you liked the last one then I'm sure you'll like this one.

In reply to Post #16 Always interesting to know the tipple of week mind 🥂

In reply to Post #25 Comes across as a genuine allround nice fella, bait buff and carp catcher
Wyreside, that's a blast from the past. Fished the first north west carp champs there, quite a few years ago now
To be fair was a decent set up though at that time, quad bike and trailer to the swim, food delivered, rods in at tea time, couple of pots in the bar, good laugh

In reply to Post #24 They were good ones

In reply to Post #24 I'll have a listen to the Jason Rider ones, we had him up at Wyreside for a social years ago and he did a slide show. We were pissed but it was brilliant. He fished with us and is / was a genuinely nice guy.
Bump.
Recently listened to the Jason Ryder 1 and 2 podcasts. Brilliant
A couple of Gary Bayes ones would be nice...
Tell you what I also like, its all about the guest, which is as it should be for me
In reply to Post #21 Nice one, I will look out for that. Good luck with it

In reply to Post #21 It was good though lol

In reply to Post #20 You picked a bad one to click on for your first time!
Unfortunately we have had to temporarily remove that episode, this is through no fault of our own or Bills, it's purely a precautionary measure whilst something gets sorted out Bills end.
We hope it will be back up soon and we also have a part two recorded with Bill waiting to go...
Sounds interesting, I like idiots, I can relate to them
Clicked on one, Bill Cottam. Removed, has he revealed something he shouldn't have.
In reply to Post #17 The bait podcasts are very good and also the Steve Briggs one was excellent
Was steve white the guy who says you need the bait to be chewed and eaten/filtered to get any real distribution of attractors in the water? That made some real sense to me.
I'm late to the thread but thanks to everyone who supports us
We're just two idiots with a mic! It's our guests that make it what it is.
In reply to Post #14 Same here very interesting theories on bait. Never heard of him before but he knows his stuff.

In reply to Post #11 I really like it, although it does depend upon the guest, it then that's inevitable. I don't sit down and focus on podcasts, I have them as a background listen and find theirs to be one of the better ones. The John Baker one is fascinating.

In reply to Post #11 Waffling for hours has something to do with the amount of alcohol they consume during these podcast and the obsession of Sam to get to know some 'secrets'...

I can't get on with their podcast at all. Tried a couple of times to listen, but I find they are too slow, they seem to waffle for hours without actually giving any information. I'll give them another go though...

In reply to Post #1 Sam and Pete, i really enjoyed my time on their podcast, so easy to chat to.
ive hope fully got another soon

In reply to Post #1 Both from my neck of the woods,at one point...impressive really when you consider the rarity of a course ,carp angler here at one stage.
Remember going down 'cobweb'..which was a great pub, remember that,a pub!!..and being asked 'you'm put em back boy'.. better days, times back then..(when talking about fishing..!)
People should also be aware that Sam helped me out with the Cornish predation issue, coming to talk with me ,and the local MP,and contacting parliament about the issue..a few yrs ago now..
Pete, now the owner of my mk1 porter..
Great chaps both...
