I don't know about the titanium torzite but they did do a titanium alconite 50mm back in 2009 i had some te torrix built with them which i didn't like and sold on.

The original 40mm k series guide stood off the blank practically the same as the k series 50mm which is why peole struggle to fit them in some holdalls and sleeves, i hjad no trouble what so ever in fitting them in any of my aqua sleeves, they then later made a 40l and 30l that stand closer to the blank.

Thats interesting as I've had Torzites on my Trebs since they first came out and they didn't do a 50. The 40 is perfect

A few years ago I went for 50mm (a fashion thing partially) ok with large diameter spoils such as 6ks Basias however if id purchase again it would be 40mm butt rings even for extreme distance rods.

Didn't Fuji do a K series Titanium range

Not a fan of minima guides as said they do flex alot and are easily bent out of shape .Lots of people love them though.

I had my Nick Buss X-lite S's built with 40-30mm K guides and then single leg Alconites and my Baby Ballistas with 30mm K guide and then single leg Minimas.
Guides don't need to be the same right through a rod.

Probably mate, especially sic. The alconites are black frames and a bit lighter, better option than the grey sic imo. That would be a big guide though and they only really come into their own for me in 30 and below. Especially the KT single leg 8 and 10s, they're really low and stiff compared to regular specialist rod type guides. It's what'll replace the minima fly guides I've nigh on worn through
I've got a load of minimas that I've tried on various blanks and while they're great in terms of weight they have a ton of flex=lost energy. Too much of a compromise on certain rods

Am I remembering correctly that a full minima ringset weighs less than the k series butt ring?
I quite like the look of the American tackle guides, I haven't checked out weights or reviews yet

I had the same issue when i initially had 50mm torzites guides. The Cotswold 3 rod trident sleeve thing was the best option i found.

Kigan also do the k series style guides now i believe

if you buy a quality guide theres really nothing wrong with single foot intermediate guides - they make the blank lighter which can have many benefits and the small amount of flex in them will/ can absorb some impact damage going to the rod.

I think most off-the-shelf the rods only use 2 foot guides as an insurance from user misuse after-all why would you make a ' cutting edge ' super light blank then add unneeded weight to it.

Correct
Yes they are weighty but to be fair sometimes i like a bit of weight , Still woud rather have kigans on a carp rod.

If you look up the specs a 40mm k series is actually the height of a regular 50, which is what matters rather than diameter.
Not specifically telling you Jeff as I'm sure you know, just a general point.
Wouldn't go above a 30 with k series personally as they're pretty weighty

Cant go wrong with Kigans. Save your money and spend the rest on bait.

I take it at that price you are having awful 50ml butt rings ? K series 50s look like my mrs hooped ear rings , Funnily i sent out a set of three aviators with 40ml k guides and customer just rang me to tell me he cant fit them in his holdall because of size of guides ! Torzite just too expensive ,Get kigans and save your money .

I am looking to get same custom built rods. I am looking for same advice from my rod builder on this. Whatever ring make I go for I think they will be double legged. Stronger than single version. Looked at the Minima's are they don't really appeal to me.

How much difference do they actually make.

kigan's £50
Fuji k series £120
Fuji torzite £225

My hearts telling me to go with torzite but my bank accounts telling me kigan so my minds telling me go in the middle with k series .

So is the the k series noticeably better than the kigans and are the torzites noticeably better than the k series

Would love to see if anyone has done a side by side test to see how much of a percentage difference they are on the cast

Looking to put them on a set of aviator 13ft's I can buy 3 with kigans for the price of 2 with torzites. So unless it's a noticeable difference would rather save the cash
