Also called in a week ago , definitely still up and running and extremely busy. He did mention that he is now open late afternoon, limited time from 4pm I think, on a Thursday & Friday.

In reply to Post #82 Saturday morning is the best time to go visit for a chat. Kens there sorting stuff and always open to talk through anything. Mid week though, there so busy, they dont really have time to discuss much, such is the demand for bait.
Thanks lads, considering taking a trip down soon and didn’t want it to be wasted if it’s no longer open
In reply to Post #79 100% still operating. I collected bait last week and there still crazy busy.
In reply to Post #79 Yeah it's still going. I was there yesterday morning getting some groundbait
Just had a Quick Look online to see if a website has been put up but I’ve seen that the company has been dissolved? Anyone know if it’s still going?
Has anyone got the pdf catalog from asylum baits they could send me please?

In reply to Post #75 Speak to Kenny see what he advises .
In reply to Post #75 I tried the red spice on my syndicate last winter afraid didn't have a touch on it but could just be the lake i was on going to try it on a different water this winter personally I would stick with what's working for you already

In reply to Post #68 Do they keep quite a bit of stock on a Saturday down there?
In reply to Post #66 I drove down from st.helens a couple of moths back advice go get thare for opening and back on the road sharp the mways are crap mate
Worth the drive tho i picked up a fair bit of bait and it went straight into my freezer a few hours after it coming off the rollers 👍🏻
I got R1 and love the stuff 👍🏻

In reply to Post #66 UNIT 16, malgraves industrial estate, lower dunton road, bulpahan, essex RM14 3TE
10AM-3PM on a Saturday
In reply to Post #66 I know it's a bloody long way from Cheshire.
In reply to Post #65 Does anybody know the opening times on a Saturday? And the address?
In reply to Post #64 Exactly that.
Quality bait ingredients cost more.
And a business needs to make a profit to stay afloat
In reply to Post #57 You are buying from a retailer not directly. What quality of bait do you think you'd be getting if they were producing something they could knock out for £7 a kg? Mark up in the shop is 50% so kenny would have to make it, take a profit and get it to the shop for 3.50kg
In reply to Post #59 Got 48 bog rolls , great price, every little helps
In reply to Post #58 Tesco do give discounts via their club card,im sure The Tacklebox give their regulars discount
In reply to Post #58 What are you on about? Nearly every bait company going gives you a lower price per kilo if you buy 5/10/20 than a 1kg bag.
Just as in Tesco’s you get a lower price per grain if you buy a pack of 3 tins of corn instead of a single tin.
In reply to Post #54 Do them Tacklebox Toots go nice and icky when left in the bag for a few days like the old Frozen Richworths Mark
In reply to Post #58 Larger packs 'in tesco' do tend to be better value
In reply to Post #57 dont think Tacklebox have ever discounted and rightly so. Like they say, do you ask tescos for a discount when youve got a trolley full ? No. Discounting, in the long term isnt healthy for the trade. Great for us, but not the business.
In reply to Post #56 Any discount for larger orders? £11 a kilo is steeeeeep
In reply to Post #52 The tacklebox guys on this bait have done really well, noticeably higher catch rates from there individually chosen baits and a couple have had new PBs this season on it as well from a load of different lakes.
The Tutti
In reply to Post #53 Probably never know who may have put it together… those Cons anglers are a bit secret squirrel 🐿
In reply to Post #53 Might be useful for anyone to know, who wants an odd kg or two in a rush, and wants Asylum frozen bait.
The Tutti is nice. I had to stop using it, because of crystal clear water, it being bright orange, and ten billion coots and tufty's around.
But that was not the baits fault. Looking forwards to seeing this fishmeal tomorrow.
In reply to Post #50 Yea, read all that, just interesting to know who the bait maker is.
In reply to Post #51 Haha yeah touché.
Clearly the Dartford shopkeeper who gave me that info, wrote the same blurb you read on his website mate

In reply to Post #48 Tacklebox Shellfish
A successful bait evolved over the past 20 years for the personal use of a group of anglers of which our shop manager Peter Jones is a member, the bait is based on extracts and meals of fish, shellfish, and animal with a various range of natural plant-based extracts as an additional attractant.
The effectiveness of the bait has been enhanced in the past 5 years since having a knowledgeable bait maker roll their bait who has added new ingredients to the mix.
In reply to Post #48 No one did.
It's an old Pete Jones (Tackle Box) and friends fishmeal/shellfish meal mix, that Kenny has added his own bits and bobs too, over the last five years I'm told.
I've used the Tutti in the Spring, I still have a couple of kg in the freezer. That is a straight Asylum bait. Looking forwards to seeing this fishmeal tomorrow.
In reply to Post #47 Didn’t know that Kenny rolled these. Who put the bait together?
In reply to Post #46 I have some Shellfish Special frozen's coming to me tomorrow from the Tackle Box. I needed some bait quickly, and don't have the time to roll any.
That is rolled by Asylum, for the Tackle Box, and the Tutti one they sell too.

In reply to Post #45 Thanks Dan

In reply to Post #43 Mike, 4 different baits that are £7 - £8+ per kg.
Hes snowed under currently so a couple of weeks turn around on orders, minimum
In reply to Post #43 Well he doesnt have a price list, hence suggesting a phone call
In reply to Post #42 I'm abroad working and a phone call isn't possible, hence asking if anyones got / had a price list.
I'm after 40 kilo
In reply to Post #41 Best bet is to give him a call after 3pm during the week. Hes busy and a small outfit and its not cost effective for him to ship small amounts so be prepared to be disappointed if you just want 5kg posting
Has anyone got a consolidated price list please?
TIA
mix kens maple and cream amino together..
In reply to Post #38 Bit of a trek for me. Oh well
In reply to Post #37 As |Sam states, turn up on a saturday and you can buy any of his excellent baits in there 5kg bags, and multiples of.
I believe if you turn up on a Saturday morning then you can buy it in multiples of 5kg.
That being said, do yourself a favour and put in a 20kg+ order, you’re going to be very, very hard pushed to find a bait as good.
In reply to Post #35 Sorry mate, wish I had better news. Might of changed in the short term. Last time I tried to contact Asylum was pre-covid.
I was desperate to try Asylum baits, tried through Essex Angling and the factory itself. Was eventually told by the factory itself that minimum order is 20kg.
Crying shame as I needed a new bait but 20kg to trial a bait is too much for me. If I could of got 10kg to trial I would of bought it.
In reply to Post #34 That’s answered that then
In reply to Post #33 20k or you won't even get spoken to and that's personal experience.
So I can only have bait delivered if it’s more than 5k? Was going to ring up and order 5k delivered
In reply to Post #30 Have a chat with kenny. Tell him about the water your fishing and he will steer you in the right direction.
In reply to Post #30 Not R1 but going on the catch reports of the users who visit the factory on a Saturday when Ive visited, they rave about it.Im a Receptor Marine fan but their catch rate makes me wanna try it
In reply to Post #29 Have you used it? Think it was mentioned on one of Kevin Ellis' videos a while back.
In reply to Post #28 R1 with Skunk at the correct levels and a super smooth blueberry flavour at low levels
A thought he had a new one called the skunk or similar!? Or is that the R1?
In reply to Post #26 Megga nut has been revamped.
R1 his other fishmeal
Cream amino his non fishmeal bait.
Hi All,
Does anyone know the current range Kenny is doing?
I did try to call and left and voicemail but never had a reply.
I he did the Marine / nut / RRS
But heard there was a few newer baits too so was just wondering if anyone had used those?
Thanks!
In reply to Post #23 Active bait solutions 👍
The above would be my first choice but there are many others but if your only wanting a few kg it might work out expensive with p&p
In reply to Post #23 What I often wonder why there are a lot of companies in England that produce such good quality baits with special good ingredients.
I dont see that much in the Netherlands a lot.
Most baits are made to a budget that carp anglers want to pay. For something higher quality you may need to pay more.
In reply to Post #22 I am from the Netherlands. I try to get in contact with Kenny but cant get true. He used to make the bait with a little bit of preservation in it. I called Essex angling and they sat they wont make it anymore, because of the risk that the bait go off. Are there people from outside the Uk who get bait from Kenny?
Is there another company in England or the Netherlands who produce the same high quality of products?

In reply to Post #1 A message from Kenny @ Asylum. 11/06
Due to unprecedented demand following Kevin Ellis' YouTube footage and with the current restrictions in place which has negatively impacted on our supply chain, we ask that you do not phone to check current orders.
If we have accepted your order, it is being processed and bait is being manufactured as agreed. Continually calling for a progress report only adds to the incredibly high work load we currently have. Ultimately, answering the phone, is time away from production. Im sure you will all appreciate the bait being produced as quickly as we can, is our priority.
I have also taken the decision to, in the short term, suspend new telephone orders under 20kg. Whilst we have more than enough stock, ingredient wise to see us through, current orders, walk in clients and orders above 20kg as a minimum will take precedent to ensure maximum service at the professional level, we ourselves demand. Orders of 20kg and above help us maximise our production or our primary mixes, allowing us too satisfy as many customers as possible.
We are not currently taking any 'bespoke' orders, only our primary freezer baits, hookbaits and groundbaits.
I hope you understand our situation and we look forward to a time in the near future when we can return to normal and meet all the orders, both large and small.
Kenny.

In reply to Post #17 Got some on my order coming this week
In reply to Post #19 Thanks for the replies. The groundbait sound interesting too. 👌
In reply to Post #16 5kg bags mate
In reply to Post #13 The groundbait is supplied with its own liquid which you supplement with lake water, clouds up the water and releases little bits and pieces, my mate has used it extensively and raves about it, I’ll be using it myself next week and will keep you updated.
In reply to Post #15 It’s sold in 5kg bags but with him being so busy at the moment there might be a min order. Mr Magoo will know .
Does anyone know if there's a minimum KG order direct from Kenny? Certainly interested in his bait, I was before the video anyway. Even more so now, seems a very genuine guy.
In reply to Post #1 Just watched the film. The rebel bait sounds very interesting. I was a big fan of Darenth Valley skunk baits back in the day..
In reply to Post #6 When you mentioned the ground bait, would you use instead of boilie crumb or mix together with a few other items ?
In reply to Post #11 Thanks
In reply to Post #10 No, delivery is available
In reply to Post #8 Is it collection only?
In reply to Post #1 Had my pb in France on maple nut, been used red spice at home it is quality bait.
In reply to Post #7 He’s a top lad and very, very capable angler ,also developed and runs one of the best lakes in the country
In reply to Post #6 Not at all. I ordered some bait because a lot of what he said about grades of product struck home with me. I wish him all the best and hope he does well for himself.
I don’t want people thinking I have a financial interest in Kenny’s business because I haven’t.
I’m just trying to help him out of the muddle the video has caused.
If going to France I would take the mega maple nut
In the winter you will not beat the red spice
Essex angling I don’t know anything about
Well worth a visit on a Saturday morning for a chat with him and to pick up bait, shop is open 12-4
If you do go ask him about the ground bait
In reply to Post #1 Hey Magoo, do you know if this includes orders through Essex Angling?
If I go to France in September I’ll most likely try his bait
In reply to Post #1 It has the desired affect then. Good on him. Seemed a real genuine bloke. Got to admit I am tempted to give his red seed mix a go this winter.
I'm personally happy with the bait I'm using but I think he came off really really well in that video, not surprised his orders have jumped!
Lads, anybody needing bait needs to contact Kenny between 3PM and 6PM after the Kevin Ellis video was posted he has been snowed under with orders.
If you can’t get him leave a message and he will call you back.
Thanks.
