To be fair the Fox sinkers work ok, the bead just needs a slight squeeze to get a tighter fit

Yikes - I coudn't get the Korda 4 mills over the small sinker.
I beleive the 5 mm beads work with a small sinker though.

Totally agree, would reduce other costs on my food and beer than try and save a ££ on a cheap copy that hasn’t had the worked put into it

For sure mate. I work in manufacturing so know very well how prototype costs can escalate. Not so much of a problem for genuine mass production but for the carp industry it could be a real killer as you said

Poor example imo framey, that is small change for a company like Korda, they are a 20M/yr firm.
But I totally agree with your point - I can imagine some of plastic stuff costs a fortune to develop as you'll need completely new tools/moulds for each design change.

I watched the latest Korda videos and I’m sure hairy says hooks were £1000 a thousand hooks as a prototype And you have to buy 1000 at a time.
Every time you alter something that’s another grand for a thousand
Someone has to pay for it somewhere it’s a lot of money to get back from a relatively small market

They also came up with the idea and paid for all the R&D costs. I'm not a Korda fanboy before anyone starts, but theres no doubt about it - they have invented some clever bits of kit over the years. The safety beads, the Krusha, and the heli drop off kit to name a few.
Developing these products costs a lot money and they have to recoup it - they also invest more than any other tackle firm on marketing - again this needs to be paid for. Theres a reason they're the most successful tackle company.
Yes their kit is a bit more expensive but its all relative. If you're sitting in a £700 bivvy complaining about the price of lead clips you need to have a long hard look in the mirror - if you stare long enough a vision of Danny Fairbrass will stare back at you and plant subliminal messages in your subconscious to always drop the lead.
True story.

I reuse them. Bit of a faff but they can be got back on the small wire that they come on.
Like all things carpy the sleeves come in packs of 3 the beads in packs of 10. Makes sense from a business perspective

Yup, the beads are no problem,just pull them off, re use.
Not like they'll lose out much if they were to make the Chod Sleeve available to buy seperate, especially now with so many sheep using Spinner rigs.

If you wet them and slide them off you can mount them onto a needle
Feed a bit of line through the eye of the needle and slide them onto the doubled over line
The key is plenty of spit or water so they don’t stretch and turn inside out And a small needle

Some people change their rigs (believe it or not), and are unable to keep them on their lines.
They should be made available seperate. It's not like Korda are struggling.
I do like many Korda products and get a bit fed up with the Korda bashing, but in this example it's disappointing, and they deserve the flak.
Fact of the matter it's greed \ profit making.
Danny Fairbrass is constantly saying these items should be mandatory, yet he's contradicting himself by bending people over in this example.
They could easily make these items available seperately without buying the whole kit and ripping people off.
Disappointing.

They're 2 quid a rod and unleas you crack off they'll last a season. I don't think it's a massive deal tbh? It's part of the business end, the last thing you want to be skimping on imo. Save the money on the big stuff (bivvy etc), not the little bits that catch you the fish.
The time it's taken me to write this is worth more than the couple of pounds to be saved on this kind of product.

I think they worked for me because I used them on leadless leader not naked So that would have made them slightly thinker and I possibly nipped the bead, apologies for the vagueness but it was awhile ago

No, they are too small, to be honest they are rubbish as well not one of Bank Tackle's finest moments for sure, just like rock hard bits of rubber 
However the Fox Tapered Mainline Sinkers/Stoppers look like they will be spot on, haven't tried them on the line yet but the bead sits nicely on sinker out of the packet so should work.

drennan float stop with a 5mm bead works or just a larger version of the stop, line breaks and it pulls straight off.
only need 1 bead then

That sounds like a crafty idea, bit of a faff though to be honest, I'm sure someone must know of a sinker that's available that does the job or is everyone just buying the 3 packs every time

Iv managed it by putting a tiny bit of putty on the line then putting shrink tube over the top and shrinking it down, seems to work OK.

i know this has been done a few times in the past but with no definitive answers.
Has any one found an alternative that works with the 'No trace' beads as I now have loads of them but am reluctant to buy another whole kit just to get the sleeves the beads sit on, maybe a sinker works?
