I had the wart in 93. It had a wart on its left cheek.
A big common back then . I had the lake record at 37-10 with him.
It was in carp talk put in by the people who run the lakes back then. I miss those days.
Id love to bump into John and Mac again ... Fckn nutters 🤣

In reply to Post #28 I've no idea I'm afraid, iirc there are forum members on here who do know, from a previous thread somewhere.

In reply to Post #26 That'll be Graham, sadly no longer with us. There's a nice memorial to him on the way round to the oak tree swim near the island.
I don't remember the winter ticket, might be before my time. I fished the night syndicate until it went full syndicate.

In reply to Post #24 Fished Catton Park in the 90s think it had only just started then, iirc I had a winter ticket.
Trying to remember the guys name, lived in the 50p house as we used to call it, I believe he's gone to the big lake in the sky now. Drive past it every now and then and wonder what's in there now?

Used it back in the late 1990s, worked very well back then. I tried it again a few years back but wasn't as good, found it to soft and just wasn't the same.

In reply to Post #23 This won't answer your question....all historic
The PPM was, and probably still is, a very good base. In the early 0's iirc it took the Kingsbury Water Park apart. At the time I was fishing the Catton Park syndicate and it was heavily Nutrabaits dominated, the lads from NB used to fish it. One of the members used that base with Mexican Onion and did very, very well...might have had garlic in it too, can't quite rem.
I haven't used QB since the mid late 0's but I have no reason to suspect it to be of any lessor quality seeing as Simon still owns it. I did ring him last year re a pellet & method he used to do, fish and blood pellet, which I had great results over, and a red nut and a plain nut method, they were very good also.
I know at the time he also supplied a lot of the match lads round there, they wouldn't use someone they didn't trust.
Maybe some of the ingredients aren't available as was back then but I'm sure they've been replaced with suitable alternatives.
Simon at QB used to have a load of pictures in the bait shed of fish that'd came out on it, it wasn't to be sniffed at, and iirc, the lad who rolled bait for him at the time on the premises went on to form his own bait company, can't rem what it's called, if it's still trading.

Is anyone still using this?

In reply to Post #12 Must be the "few extras" that made em float A proven basemix don´t need no extras

Been using the Squid and orange . Had some success but no different to any other . Saying that , it stinks, it catches ( All the bait does from there which is main objective) . It's a good price and they a Very nice people and very helpful . Wished they did more variety of baits . I think they do on request but only on bulk orders

In reply to Post #19 simple answer - No
Pop ups don’t break down like bottom baits due to the make up of ingredients.

In reply to Post #18 couldnt you have just glugged the baits so they would sink?

In reply to Post #12 Oh dear and we know you can't catch them off the surface in France!

In reply to Post #11 used it for a couple of years when I rolled the base mix with a few extras, then I ordered 20kg of base mix for a French trip, rolled 24mm baits, air dried as usual, then went to france. Imagine my face when finding that on the initial baiting up, every single bait floated. I had rolled 20kf of feffing pop ups. Nope, absolute total rot, avoid.

In reply to Post #2 Ask him about the new pellet

In reply to Post #1 Used it since it first came out and now I use the cm60 too , cracking bait currently in France in freezing conditions had 2 x 50s 2 x 40s and 5 x 30s testing a new pellet and it's a stunner

Can't see why it wouldn't be good, Simon has quality ingredients and knows what he is doing.

I've used Simon's baits for years on and off, the Patshull Park I first used mid to late 90's i'd never heard of it before then my mate had and he went up and bought the basemix we rolled some using a blue cheese and garlic flavor combo back then we used to watch the pads part for the fish to get at it once introduced.
I later used it with squid and orange flavor the flagship flavour nowadays on this mix, it has caught me many many fish home and abroad over the years, you can tinker and add bits to it if your thinking of rolling it yourself but it really doesn't need it, I have tried all of Simon's mixes and they all catch but I would say don't ignore his Krill but in saying that I would happily use the CM60 or either of the HG mixes, he's been at it a long time and if it was no good he wouldn't be around now, use with confidence.

Still the same as it was when it first came out. Know a lot of guys that still use it themselves and wouldn't change it for anything else out there (localish company).
As for saying there is "much much much better" out there.... So what if there is? Doesn't mean it will catch you any more fish. I don't use it myself but have done in the past but I wouldn't say anything bad about it because I don't use it nowadays. It is no better or worse than it was when launched & still the same as it was back then. Just shows how good of a base mix it actually is if it hasn't changed. That is the good thing about bait - use what you want to use & have confidence in. Confidence will catch you a lot more fish than the latest wonder bait if you are not 100% about it.

In reply to Post #4 much much better out there for the same money

In reply to Post #1 I have used it in the past but never in its basic form, I always added a few bits and pieces such as liver and whey gel, I was impressed with it to be honest but it was a bit light in weight and a bit soft.
I have a friend who still uses it a lot, he sometimes does the same adds his own bits and piecrs but often uses it as it comes.

In reply to Post #2 Started using it early 00 when fishing Cuttle mill as it’s only across from Quality baits factory, went on to use it everywhere since and caught well.
Every few years I drift away from it as you think new bait new confidence but I always go back to the patshull park mix when struggling to get bites, not a fashionable bait so I won’t expect you to get many reply’s.
